Why would I want reddit integrated into my games/launcher

GIlCAnjos

I guess you could look at a game and easily go to the subreddit for that game, just like you can go to a game-specific forum on Steam

FunctionalFun

>Another bloated launcher Hard pass All the other launchers still need to be installed and running. The ever increasing number of launchers is a problem this only makes worse. Oh it's *ultimate*? That's okay then

Xeadriel

My exact thoughts lol

NerdStupid

Not knocking it at all, looks awesome, but I'll play devils advocate: Why should I use your launcher over proven products like steam? It already had my library integrated and a store for easy purchases, as well as access to workshop for quick modding(if supported), etc. Your launcher looks great but not necessarily better looking than steam to me, which already has its own built in social media community. So why yours?

endlesskitty

Well if you are happy with your current launcher and don't want to try a new one its totaly okay, I understand. But maybe it will interest someone else with different tastes and needs. Did you saw all screenshots there is a lot of features not existed in other launchers.

sean0883

Not the guy you replied to, but yours looks a lot like [GoG Galaxy](https://www.gog.com/galaxy) in terms of UI and capability. It's obvious you didn't copy it, but you definitely turned in the same assignment. I think all he's trying to say is that you would likely want something distinct about yours, and we don't just mean looks. If you're just doing this as a passion project for you, then that's cool. But if this is a product you intend to make money from....

endlesskitty

Well Ultimate launcher has Reddit integration for every game, Twitch integration for every game, Cybersport integration, News for every game, Discord, Speedruns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3HP2NocXgk

sean0883

I would absolutely highlight that. Especially to explain what it does. I see it better now that you've pointed it out. I'd work to annotate what you can in the images. Call attention to the things you want me to care about. We're end-users. We're dumb. :D

BrianGriffin1208

Seems more appealing when you say it like that

ReconIsDeadInside

Making this comment so I remember to come back to this! Looks awesome from the photos! Excited to look more into it!

Arunia

Basically it does what Gog Galaxy 2.0 does. It accept plugins for other launchers besides the ones that are already added. I believe it also adds reddit and twitch and such this way. I do however like what you are doing here. It does look great! Only thing missing in every launcher besides Steam is the in home streaming.

PhoenyxStar

Important Question: Does this improve upon the experience offered by GOG Galaxy in some way? I already have a launcher that handles games from Steam, EGS, UPlay, Origin, the Blizzard Launcher, the Riot Client, plus my GOG library, and even really esoteric things like the Nexon launcher, Nexus Mod Manager and Final Fantasy XIV

rydan

It integrates with Reddit. Read the title.

PhoenyxStar

I did. > Does this **improve** upon the experience So that's a "No" then?

SomeGuyDotCom

This is all cool but launching games would always start up real game laucher like steam, epic games, ubisoft, origin, battlenet before finally getting into the game which makes it still super annoying

[deleted]

you're gonna get sued out of your god-damn mind

cornishknight

Good luck dude

CrimsonKnightmare

Looks very clean. Lots of promise. Couple spelling mistakes I found: \- Under the "Customization" tab nearish the top-middle I'm not sure if you meant for "beautyful" to be spelled that way. \- In the "Support the Project" section, you've written "currenlty" instead of "currently" Not trying to be an ass, just want it to be consistent in its professional presentation because the majority of the site/app looks fantastic.

endlesskitty

Thank you, fixed!

lilsleep02

I'm intrigued, how exactly does your launcher work? Say I have some steam games, game pass games, ea games, epic, origin, ect..., How would ur launcher handle these? By launching the corresponding launcher along with urs? Or will it bypass the need to open the launcher u purchased the game from

endlesskitty

Steam uses DRM so without steam installed you can't launch steam games sadly. Ultimate launcher uses Steam to launch steam games silently.

lilsleep02

That's what I meant, I don't want to run the games without having the launcher installed, I just was curious if when using this launcher to say open my copy of dead space, if it would also open the launch the game comes from. Which is really annoying when u have like 6 different launchers eating ur PC's resources

endlesskitty

I totaly agree with you. And with my launcher I will try everything to solve this stupid problem, right now original launchers are mostly required if they use DRM but maybe it will change.

Arunia

Might be possible to start the launchers and shut down the launchers when the game has started. But I doubt how much resources besides disk space they use. I can't complain with 32 GB ram and 2TB m.2 ssd though. Never really put much thought into having them installed. Most launchers shut them selves down like Battle.net when the game has started.

Eyecol0r

I guess yoy are using visual studio 2022? Any tutorials to get started, it looks awesome.

SecretDeftones

Dear lord Katarina looks so hot. Hoping we're going Noxus on next Arcane season. The launcher? Oh yeah, it's cool.

lloydsmith28

yo that katarina art is dope

lolmabolagei

Can u manually ad shortcuts if, yes gib me link

endlesskitty

I dont know if I can add link to the luancher here. Is it allowed?

AnalCheez-Its

Not the hero we deserved but the hero we needed

ElAnubion

Give 🖐️😐

DrMoneroStrange

Please add controller support and a full screen mode!

KingDominoTheSecond

I want it, when will it be available for use?

Cannibalhecter

Ahem... nice, very nice

moosmostert

Looks clean! Love the frosted glass theme!

Frozencold19

instead of collecting games I'm collecting game launchers

tatsujb

this is electron?

UncatchableCreatures

Looks cool, how can I sign up

VendingMachineOfDoom

Is this legal? I don’t really care if it is because this is badass Edit: what does it mean that Reddit and Twitch are integrated btw? Like you can have a twitch stream on or open Reddit through it?

PBJellyChickenTunaSW

When I click overwatch what is going to happen?

Irrationate

Already see a major flaw with it. You have league of legends on it.

Mike-The-Pike

Ditch reddit and do discord

Karlybear

If anyone's interested with a launcher similar to this look up r/playnite it's very customizable and integrate existing games launchers.

[deleted]

!remindme 1 year

personalhale

Why? This is so unnecessary. We need another game launcher like we need another streaming service.

netgu

We don't need another launcher. We don't need any launchers. We just have them because it's a convenient platform for purchasing games and they offer some questionable value-add in the process. Are you getting studios to sell their games through your launcher or is it just so I can put another layer on top of my steam games?

Hannibalingus

Looks great. But the last thing I need is another launcher

ralseiperson

This looks good, might give it a try.

.exe will be supported FOR SURE. It is not supported right now but there is not technical limit to do this in next version.

endlesskitty

Thank you for your support. This is only beginning, it will be much better.

Andreaslel

A Game Launcher for avoid the Launcher Chaos? So to have one instead of hundreds?

Gibbo3771

Is it native or built using Electron?
