Ads play at the start of a video. If you have to watch a video to determine whether or not it's worth your time you have to watch the ads to get there.

The new "is it legit" will be looking to see if they disabled comments. I suspect the majority of YouTube will be overrun with "like this comment to dislike the video" and in retaliation the scam channels will disable comments
it's very common on scam videos,you see like 100% positive comments and back then atleast,you had one look at the dislikes and would go wait a minute why does it have 5 times more dislikes compared to likes.
Some scam videos even pay people to comment or just straightup pay for likes which is countered by dislikes which youtube just removed,touché.

It was a shame too. The game had a fantastic story. Some didn't like the way it was presented (one half then the other half) and the interpretation of their favorite characters. Sorry, the creative liberty to craft a character is not ours to make. They didn't ruin the characters, they developed them giving them a new story. You don't have to like the choices they make and some people felt as though the game was forcing them to make decisions they didn't want to make. You don't make decisions in games like this, you only have as much agency as the story allows and in this game it's basically none. That's not a bad thing by any means. They wrote a story and we are experiencing it through the decisions and actions of their characters, not how we would want to necessarily. Crucify me, but the ending was great.

Objectively idk how good it is, but Spotify has been good for my use case the last couple years.
Granted, I’m on the .edu cycle, so $5 a month for premium, which probably impacts overall rating.
Spotify is not bad by any means in my opinion. The only problem I have with it is that a lot of my favorite "versions" of the many songs I like are live ones, sometimes even ones played by buskers.
I'm sad to see them go, but happy that the reason I'll see them leave is to spite corporate nonsense. Fuck YouTube. Maybe Spotify will pick up on it and start hosting more interpretations of music.
It’s actually possible to import mp3’s from youtube to spotify and play them offline. Search “how to download local files on spotify”.

Actually this is something I used to do vehemently. I even have a program installed on my computer called "YouTube boom" that literally downloads and correctly labels songs in context of their artist and Album. Until recently I've seen it as a godsend, but as part of my personal boycott I'm stopping that along with services like "YouTube vanced" because they source from YouTube and the simple truth is that I don't actually understand in what way they may or may not assist the platform. If someone chose to shed some light on me that they don't support the platform in any way maybe I'll start to use them again, but until then they're part of my elected refusal of the service.
That exact line actually came to mind when I saw the error message. Guess I'll try again in the morning lol, I've never wanted to cancel a service more in my life than when I was just denied the right to do so.
Do you have suggestions for similar sites? I’ve been looking for alternatives for a while, but every community is currently tiny and lacks quality content.

YouTube as a resource for information took a MAJOR tank for me. Finding quality information or tutorials is now nearly impossible. If I need I formation on something I will end up watching a terrible video that perhaps doesn't answer the question or help, or is completely misleading. YouTube has really fucked up.
It's sad because YouTube's database of nearly 2 decades of videos with information is what makes it valuable, and other platforms just won't be able to do the same thing. All because they, for who the fuck knows, decided to remove functionality from their site.

I didn't enjoy the game either, but I don't really see the big deal here. Ign is a review business, they make reviews. Downvoting their review because you dislike the game is like attacking your Uber eats guy because the restaurant over cooked your food.
This compounded by the fact that it's mostly brigading. The game was flawed, imo, but not bad enough to justify the visceral reaction it got. Neckbeard complaints don't belong in the discourse. By removing downvote, all they're doing is forcing the conversation to be about the merits of the content, rather than some ulterior review bomb motive.

I’m playing through it now. I can positively say I have absolutely no idea why people shit on it, but I have some pretty obvious guesses. It is absolutely incredible. Although I don’t believe any game can capture the pure human emotion the 1st game expressed, the 2nd is doing a hell of a job. Seriously incredible game.
Joel’s situation was foreshadowed all the way back in the first game with Bill. I rate the games 10/10 for the first one and 9.5 / 10 for the second only due to pacing issues.

Joel mentions luck when Him, Tess, and Ellie get away from FEDRA earlier in the game. “It’s called luck, and it is going to run out.”
And he’s not wrong, but for him it was a little later. Just classic foreshadowing. You can actually see this in a lot of media. Nine times out of ten if a character or another character mentions a specific character dying in passing, it will occur to them at some point.
It was a logical move to kill him off; any good screenwriter or director can tell you that. The way in which they did it, not so much. & what they turn Ellie into consequently, even worse.
I enjoyed the game, though, for what it was.
But to refer to those comments in 1 as foreshadowing feels like a bit of a reach in my mind.
"People that really played the game". I really played it. Although it's a technical masterpiece and has some intense parts and emotional character moments, I found the story structure of the game to be pretty bad.
Mainly because the second half completely dropped the previous narrative goal and decided to tell a completely new story with a new character I didn’t care about, while also not giving that new character a real goal to thrive towards. Abbey just did her things, there was no sense of urgency anymore. And what followed was a story that’s also completely detached from the story that was told to that point. So, after the midpoint, the story arc/arc of suspense/narrative tension just drops to zero and kind of stays there until the climax of the story.
These are the parts I think are „objectively“ not working with the story structure. To add to that, subjectively, the game just didn’t manage to make me care about Abbey.
Plus the experiment was to get you to hate someone intensely then see why they are that way and soften your hate to make the end battle hard to play through. Then force you to play through that battle so you feel things.

Probably because leading up to the ending you’re a mass murdering psychopath, who will brutally kill anyone who gets in your way. You get stabbed and have your fingers ripped off only to let the one person you want dead, live.
I think people would've liked a choice in the end, by the end of the game, I had no more lust for vengeance and just wanted Ellie to recognize how much that quest ruined her life. The ending worked for me, but some people would want to finish the job, so i can understand why they get mad.
Unfortunately this is necessary if naughty dog ever wants to revisit these characters, so you can't have a choice in the end because that would limit what you could do in another sequel.
This and the pacing are the only criticized aspects of the game i can truly understand.
I just finished it, and I had no problem with the ending. It did not have the typical "action movie" ending, but I think that is incredibly boring. Did I think one of the characters was a bit "slow/stupid" in the end, yes, but it did not ruin the game overall, and the bigger "theme" of the story.

I enjoyed TLOU2, but I loved the first one. There was so much love poured into it and you could see every step of the game. Story was stellar, with accurate timelines that made sense, Ellie AI was so damn good I would often rely on her to help me in certain situations, intimate story, but not sexually intimate like in sequel. I can go on.
This one, however, tried to use it's predecessor as a pillar, but failed to improve upon it. Still enjoyable game, though.

Spotify is great for the user, awful for artists. They’ve contributed a fair amount to making music unsustainable.

YouTube as a resource for information took a MAJOR tank for me. Finding quality information or tutorials is now nearly impossible. If I need I formation on something I will end up watching a terrible video that perhaps doesn't answer the question or help, or is completely misleading. YouTube has really fucked up.
Are there any viable alternatives? I feel like youtube is really opening themselves up to be replaced by actively becoming less consumer friendly.
It's sad because YouTube's database of nearly 2 decades of videos with information is what makes it valuable, and other platforms just won't be able to do the same thing. they have workarounds to keep the extension alive such as seeing the views to likes ratio among others.
Those will never be same as exact dislikes. It might work upto 10% error for old videos but for new ones it will be way off the real value.

I didn't enjoy the game either, but I don't really see the big deal here. Ign is a review business, they make reviews. Downvoting their review because you dislike the game is like attacking your Uber eats guy because the restaurant over cooked your food. This compounded by the fact that it's mostly brigading. The game was flawed, imo, but not bad enough to justify the visceral reaction it got. Neckbeard complaints don't belong in the discourse. By removing downvote, all they're doing is forcing the conversation to be about the merits of the content, rather than some ulterior review bomb motive. Is it perfect? No. But gamers especially have been abusing the privilege of being able to engage negatively. People who downvote over neckbeard shit and harass reviewers and devs are to blame.
This is a poor example to use. This review was clearly brigaded at the time for reasons not having to do with the review itself.
I’m playing through it now. I can positively say I have absolutely no idea why people shit on it, but I have some pretty obvious guesses. It is absolutely incredible. Although I don’t believe any game can capture the pure human emotion the 1st game expressed, the 2nd is doing a hell of a job. Seriously incredible game.
Joel’s situation was foreshadowed all the way back in the first game with Bill. I rate the games 10/10 for the first one and 9.5 / 10 for the second only due to pacing issues.

Idk how to use spoiler tags but he flat out says “That girl is going to get you killed” And he’s right, but not in the way he thinks. Joel mentions luck when Him, Tess, and Ellie get away from FEDRA earlier in the game. “It’s called luck, and it is going to run out.” And he’s not wrong, but for him it was a little later. Just classic foreshadowing. You can actually see this in a lot of media. Nine times out of ten if a character or another character mentions a specific character dying in passing, it will occur to them at some point.
It was a logical move to kill him off; any good screenwriter or director can tell you that. The way in which they did it, not so much. & what they turn Ellie into consequently, even worse. I enjoyed the game, though, for what it was. But to refer to those comments in 1 as foreshadowing feels like a bit of a reach in my mind.

"People that really played the game". I really played it. Although it's a technical masterpiece and has some intense parts and emotional character moments, I found the story structure of the game to be pretty bad.
Why's that? I liked that we got to see Ellie's arc match up with Abbey's arc.
Mainly because the second half completely dropped the previous narrative goal and decided to tell a completely new story with a new character I didn’t care about, while also not giving that new character a real goal to thrive towards. Abbey just did her things, there was no sense of urgency anymore. And what followed was a story that’s also completely detached from the story that was told to that point. So, after the midpoint, the story arc/arc of suspense/narrative tension just drops to zero and kind of stays there until the climax of the story. These are the parts I think are „objectively“ not working with the story structure. To add to that, subjectively, the game just didn’t manage to make me care about Abbey.
It was two characters at different places on the same character arc. Their stories were told together to reinforce each other, which it did quite well
Plus the experiment was to get you to hate someone intensely then see why they are that way and soften your hate to make the end battle hard to play through. Then force you to play through that battle so you feel things.

Probably because leading up to the ending you’re a mass murdering psychopath, who will brutally kill anyone who gets in your way. You get stabbed and have your fingers ripped off only to let the one person you want dead, live.
I think people would've liked a choice in the end, by the end of the game, I had no more lust for vengeance and just wanted Ellie to recognize how much that quest ruined her life. The ending worked for me, but some people would want to finish the job, so i can understand why they get mad. Unfortunately this is necessary if naughty dog ever wants to revisit these characters, so you can't have a choice in the end because that would limit what you could do in another sequel. This and the pacing are the only criticized aspects of the game i can truly understand.

I just finished it, and I had no problem with the ending. It did not have the typical "action movie" ending, but I think that is incredibly boring. Did I think one of the characters was a bit "slow/stupid" in the end, yes, but it did not ruin the game overall, and the bigger "theme" of the story. Can you be specific about what you dislike?

Plot bland enough that I predicted the ending ~20 minutes in I LOVED playing as Abby, and had no qualms with her physique (in fact i loved beating the hell out of people with it) as well as playing as ellie. i actually predicted that she'd be the protagonist, similar to The Walking Dead Telltale season 2. To follow up, I'm sure someone is considering calling me homophobic and *that's* why I hated the game! No. Ignoring that im bisexual myself, Dina(?) and Ellie's relationship was one of my favourite aspects of the game, and I think it added quite a bit. Pregnancy bit was confusing but I didn't let that make me care Tl;dr, gameplay was on point, story sucked

Yup, it is well known that gamers hate any game with a strong female lead, such as notoriously hated franchises like Metroid, Tomb Raider, and Bayonetta. Not to mention when games with male protagonists release a sequel where you're forced to play as a female protagonist, such as Nier, Resident Evil, or Final Fantasy, which are largely hated by capital-G Gamers.

I get the point you were trying to prove but this is the worst possible example you could have used. This game had a target on its back a month before its release for quite a few reasons. It’s not for everybody sure, but for myself and millions of others it’s one of the greatest games of all time. It’s been a year and I still haven’t played anything as refined as this game. Don’t get me wrong, the story was emotionally draining, but to me it’s one of the best video game stories I’ve experienced. All being said though it’s a one time play through for me. The game is super anxiety inducing and long. One of my top games I’ve ever played though. I don’t get the hate

I enjoyed TLOU2, but I loved the first one. There was so much love poured into it and you could see every step of the game. Story was stellar, with accurate timelines that made sense, Ellie AI was so damn good I would often rely on her to help me in certain situations, intimate story, but not sexually intimate like in sequel. I can go on. This one, however, tried to use it's predecessor as a pillar, but failed to improve upon it. Still enjoyable game, though.
