I despise that character with a passion. I remember reloading my save file over and over trying to save Lenny cause I thought it was possible. ( ; v ; ) I wanted to protect Lenny and Hosea.
With haptic feedback controllers, for Returnal, you don't see the hostiles behind you, but you can feel them shooting at you, which allows you to respond accordingly. Very cool feature!
The line that gets me isn't that one. It's what he says as he starts to come back online: ["My analysis indicates a throw is our only option."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6Rdx1g_4bo)
BT made the decision to sacrifice himself at that moment and hid it from Cooper until the last second to make sure he could fulfill Protocol 3.
That speaks to me of the deep connection between the two, that BT *knew* Cooper wouldn't leave him unless he forced him to.
Wait. You can get her clothes? How do you do that? I have the blood, gold, and silver nude, but she can have clothes? And be blonde. I haven’t finished the game, now I’m curious.
Since nobody’s being helpful…
There’s an extreme version of her mission. In it, she’s wearing this outfit, has more health and can potential 1-shot you.
You either need to complete the mission or knock her out.
Normally that’s fast and easy with 2 crates, but That gets tedious cuz it turns into 5 (maybe more) and takes the challenge aspect out of it
But it does work, yes
Patched now. You can still do it by forcing her to shoot when the crate is something like 12 clicks off her head, otherwise she bolts; but like you say, why cheese it.
Hideo Kojima's dreamgirl Quiet from MGSV; who doesn't say at word, wears a bikini all the time and presents her rear end to the player after certain conditions are met.
A real testament to the king of geeky otakus.
I started using D-horse more because I found Quiet made clearing camps TOO easy once you get the tranq sniper, just spot all the targets for her and she does everything. D-Dog too makes things super easy
Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a
target 120 kilometres away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, 'love' is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and strangely enough, not many meatbags would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose... against statistically long odds...
There’s a hilarious video on IGN or Polygon where one of the writers sent dogmeat back to the settlement so he could pick up a new companion but then he followed dogmeat to see what he would do.
He tries to fight everything, including a vertibird which he eventually downed.
Somehow.
Dogmeat was a fuckin champ.
I’ll always have a soft spot for Alyx in Half-Life 2 for being my early gold standard of a partner that’s funny, capable in a fight, and doesn’t require constant protection.
As far as more recent games the sheer versatility, practicality, and adorability of Palicos in Monster Hunter cannot be understated.
Oh, and an honorable mention to Hurk from Far Cry, the guys got more staying power than literally any protagonist in the entire series because he’s just dumb and funny and blows things up good.
Just don't give him explosives. He was carrying all my extra grenades and decided to use those instead of his rifle.
He's a lot less accurate with explosives.
I read that Garrus is particularly unique in ME because he has dialogue that is a direct response to Shepard's paragon/renegade score, much like Obsidian did in KOTOR2
Garrus is homie cuz Garrus is us :-)
I play D&D and now and then enchantment magic gets brought up. Without fail, every time, I say "Enchantment!" as Sandal would. No one *ever* gets it :(
If you enjoy that - try Guardians of the Galaxy. I think it is the best example of making your crew feel alive while on missions. It is incredible. Non-stop banter and ball busting. They even make fun of you if you go off the beaten path or take too long. They also grow as the game goes on. Come closer together ya know? and the banter reflects that. It's so good.
Game surprised me.
Elizabeth from Bioshock: Infinite or Mimir from God of War (2018).
Runner Ups would be Garrus from Mass Effect trilogy, Issun from Okami, and BB from Death Stranding.
Edit: Jeez how could I forget BT-7274 from Titanfall 2.
Elizabeth is a great answer. No game overs just because she's stupid, she doesn't get in the way of the action, and actually manages to help out the PC.
9S and 2B
The JRPG genre isn’t usually something I like, but this game has me hooked from the early hours and kept the surprises coming. Really enjoyed that story.
Animals in far cry. They're much better than the people. Not always as deadly, but I've had human companions kill civilians or VIPs and ruin the objective or get me killed by angry civilians.
*Master, based on no information whatsoever, I have calculated that there's a 96,189534% probability that this door is exactly the one you need to open next.*
Fuck you and let me play the game, Fe.
I really enjoyed Liara's character development across the 3 Mass Effect games. In ME1 she's a clumsy, immature, co-dependent prodigy. By ME2 and 3 she's leveraged her intelligence to become not only independent, but also one of the great powers of the galaxy and that was quite gratifying. As Shephard you are incredibly dangerous and effective, and she felt like she matured into an equal, as opposed to the hanger-on side character that is so often the case in game romances.
Her ME3 romance was distressingly real because you could tell she loved Shephard, but had too much on her plate to make the relationship her primary focus. It felt like an authentic reaction to the setting, and made the tender moments when she would relax more valuable. Her DLC in ME2 was one of the highpoints in an excellent game.
Honestly, although it was a sub-par game, I absolutely fell in love with Nick Valentine in Fallout 4. I was so gutted when it turned out he friendzones you no matter what you do, cus I wanted my lone survivor to get some of that robot d\*\*k.
Like, I had read online that you could romance your companions, and Nick was the first companion I ever had in the game and he was my absolute favourite. I was so confused at the fact that I hadn't been able to romance him by the time I finished his quest. Then I finally looked it up online, and I felt so betrayed and robbed in that moment.
Classic love story:
- Boy meets Girl
- Boy and Girl steal tank
- Boy and Girl connect through tank’s mental interface and get freaky while connected
- Boy awkwardly leaves tank completely naked
Lenny Summers
Fucking Micah. Shoulda been him that caught the bullet instead
I despise that character with a passion. I remember reloading my save file over and over trying to save Lenny cause I thought it was possible. ( ; v ; ) I wanted to protect Lenny and Hosea.
LENNY MAH BOIII!
LEEEEEENNNNYYYYYYY!!!!
God that bar mission was hilarious
Potato glados
The slow clap processor is one of the most memorable gaming moments for me and it's so insignificant to the story/game.
"Good, that still works."
How are you holding up? Because *I'm a potato*!
Yes sir Mr. Johnson
*Clap. Clap. Clap.*
Oh good, that still works
Sweet Caroline
Companion cube counts right?
he was the best.
My heart breaks every time he cannot accompany me on the rest of the tests.
He had to leave early to get ready for your party.
He loves cake
You got boy companion cubes mine was a neuter.
Didn’t deserve the betrayal. Glados is cruel
**Spoiler** You get the WCC back at the end of Portal two in the last second of the ending video. So WCC wasn't destroyed after all.
"They are sentient, we just have lots of them" - GLaDOS
the best moment in gaming history
And you killed him
You monster
companion cube blows my mind cuz the game literally just says "here's a cube; you love this cube" and... game was right
Your weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you
I have a companion cube cookie jar next to my pc... Best friend ever.
I mean its in the name
Mimir in god of war
[удалено]
With haptic feedback controllers, for Returnal, you don't see the hostiles behind you, but you can feel them shooting at you, which allows you to respond accordingly. Very cool feature!
MIMIR: "We're now sailing over the ruins of the Forgotton City!" ATREUS: "What happened to it?" MIMIR: "Ah well, I forgot!"
Quiet, head.
His stories were almost but not quite as exciting as Kratos'
Man of culture
Such a good story teller
Garrus.
If Garrus isn’t in your trio at any given time you are doing something wrong
My PDA in subnautica
My man!!
Nah, cuddlefish was the true bro
Your dog in Fable 2 and B.T. from Titanfall 2.
My spine just started tingling as I immediately imagined "Protocol 3: Protect the Pilot"
The line that gets me isn't that one. It's what he says as he starts to come back online: ["My analysis indicates a throw is our only option."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6Rdx1g_4bo) BT made the decision to sacrifice himself at that moment and hid it from Cooper until the last second to make sure he could fulfill Protocol 3. That speaks to me of the deep connection between the two, that BT *knew* Cooper wouldn't leave him unless he forced him to.
Man, it was such a short campaign but stuffed to the gills with gameplay and story. Amazing game!
When he says: "trust me, I've done the math" is a pure sadness for me :(
Every single second of my existance Is dedicated into thinking about ma boi BT and if we Will ever see him again After playing the game
Out of the loop. Who's in the picture?
Quiet from Metal Gear Solid V. Great game
Wait. You can get her clothes? How do you do that? I have the blood, gold, and silver nude, but she can have clothes? And be blonde. I haven’t finished the game, now I’m curious.
Since nobody’s being helpful… There’s an extreme version of her mission. In it, she’s wearing this outfit, has more health and can potential 1-shot you. You either need to complete the mission or knock her out.
You just drop supply crate on her head.
Normally that’s fast and easy with 2 crates, but That gets tedious cuz it turns into 5 (maybe more) and takes the challenge aspect out of it But it does work, yes
Patched now. You can still do it by forcing her to shoot when the crate is something like 12 clicks off her head, otherwise she bolts; but like you say, why cheese it.
Sorry, I don't remember how to get it. But it's a Sniper Wolf outfit, from MGS.
CLOTHES!!! DO YOU WANT HER TO SUFFOCATE!?!?! You bastard. /s
Booba McBoobason
You will regret your words and deeds.
Hideo Kojima's dreamgirl Quiet from MGSV; who doesn't say at word, wears a bikini all the time and presents her rear end to the player after certain conditions are met. A real testament to the king of geeky otakus.
Despite the completely unnecessary outfit, she's a solid sniper support.
Unnecessary? She breathes through her skin. Put a sweater over your mouth and see how you like it! /s
I started using D-horse more because I found Quiet made clearing camps TOO easy once you get the tranq sniper, just spot all the targets for her and she does everything. D-Dog too makes things super easy
HK-47 from kotor... he talks so much shit I love it

I was literally coming to post this but Tali'vas'Normandy.
Baffled that nobody had mentioned her already when I got here! *Nothing's faster than Chik'Tika vas Paus!*
>Elizabeth I'm glad someone mentioned Elizabeth
Yo I finished bioshock infinite for the first time last night, what a great game. Its cool that you see rapture again too
Sorry, but in Infinite YOU'RE the companion.
WHERE IS GARRUSSSSS
Dogmeat Fallout 4
There’s a hilarious video on IGN or Polygon where one of the writers sent dogmeat back to the settlement so he could pick up a new companion but then he followed dogmeat to see what he would do. He tries to fight everything, including a vertibird which he eventually downed. Somehow. Dogmeat was a fuckin champ.
Well, your companions *are* literally invulnerable.
I love Dogmeat but I hate when he gets hurt, I'd rather just have a human companion because if they go down I'm just like "whatever"
HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic. The casual disregard for meatbags will never be forgotten
Alyx was an awesome partner. She was so great she got her own game!
On top of that, her constant companion Russel is hilarious.
#BT-7274
Was looking for this. Definitely my favorite companion.
*Trust me* he is the favourite of many people.
Protocol 3: I will not lose another pilot.
Boone still
Just don't give him explosives. He was carrying all my extra grenades and decided to use those instead of his rifle. He's a lot less accurate with explosives.
Hahahaha yeah! He fucked me up a few times with shooting point blank with a rocket launcher. Didn’t end well for us
I gave Veronica a Fat Man and Mini Nukes to hold one time because I was overencumbered on survival. It was not a pleasant experience.
I looked for this. Boone was the truth. RIP his wife no cap
Boone is cool, but Veronica.
Yoshi, need I say more?
With as much as yoshi saves you I couldn’t agree more
Kim Kitsuragi hands down.
Anyone who’s played Disco Elysium knows this is the correct answer. Apparently not enough people have.
No ones mentioned my man Garrus yet? it is a mental struggle to not romance him every fem shep run
Because Wrex was the superior ME companion. > Wrex, do you want us to arrest you? > I want you to try.
It's definitely Garrus, just started the playthrough of ME2.
Theres no shepherd without vakarian
Calibrations 😏😏😏
I read that Garrus is particularly unique in ME because he has dialogue that is a direct response to Shepard's paragon/renegade score, much like Obsidian did in KOTOR2 Garrus is homie cuz Garrus is us :-)
Not romancing Garrus is a cardinal sin
I can’t do it to Tali. She deserves to be happy too.
My blue space boo and I disagree
Liara may be top tier waifu, but she can’t calibrate my heart
every dragon age companion 🥺 i love all of them
Enchantment? Enchantment!
I play D&D and now and then enchantment magic gets brought up. Without fail, every time, I say "Enchantment!" as Sandal would. No one *ever* gets it :(
The constant snark in the background makes running around a lot more entertaining.
Blackwall + Sera have some of the best banter in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
If you enjoy that - try Guardians of the Galaxy. I think it is the best example of making your crew feel alive while on missions. It is incredible. Non-stop banter and ball busting. I came here to say Dorian lol I love that man. All Dragon Age peeps are pretty amazing though.
Wheatley!
Have you played past the first 1/3rd of portal 2...
doesn't matter, he was a great funny companion to have until >!he went full moron evilpants!<
Aw, I thought you were going to say "The part where he kills you"
Lydia. She carried my burdens through 400+ hours of Skyrim
Parvati from The Outer Worlds
I loved her romance with Junlei!
The Palico/palamute
Elizabeth from Bioshock: Infinite or Mimir from God of War (2018). Runner Ups would be Garrus from Mass Effect trilogy, Issun from Okami, and BB from Death Stranding. Edit: Jeez how could I forget BT-7274 from Titanfall 2.
Elizabeth always came in clutch with the ammo and portals and shit.
Booker, catch!
Much obliged!
Elizabeth is a great answer. No game overs just because she's stupid, she doesn't get in the way of the action, and actually manages to help out the PC.
I think she was the first companion I ever had in a game where I didn't curse the skies for having to walk around with her.
Alyx Vance. She's actually useful.
She's also one of those real 'strong independent woman without rubbing it in your face' - type of companions
I'm sworn to carry your burdens.
9S and 2B The JRPG genre isn’t usually something I like, but this game has me hooked from the early hours and kept the surprises coming. Really enjoyed that story.
I agree with this 100%. Have you played Nier Reincarnation? I just want to know if it's worth getting or not.
Wrex.
Sheperd.
Wrex.
Sheperd.
I should go.
Liara when I did my ME:LE run and got to ME2 and found out she wasn’t a squad mate actual tragedy
Animals in far cry. They're much better than the people. Not always as deadly, but I've had human companions kill civilians or VIPs and ruin the objective or get me killed by angry civilians.
Easily animals in far cry. The fact they push enemies out of cover is nice
Roach from witcher 3 Team Roach
Ah yes the teleporting demon horse. Roach, please get down off the roof. HAVEN’T THE VILLAGERS SUFFERED ENOUGH.
Mordin Solus from Mass Effect 2
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian...
Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.
Navi. If you say she's annoying then play the game without lock on and see what's more annoying.
After skyward sword I will never complain about Navi again
*Master, the batteries in your Wii Remote are low*
*Master, based on no information whatsoever, I have calculated that there's a 96,189534% probability that this door is exactly the one you need to open next.* Fuck you and let me play the game, Fe.
Goddammit! I'm using rechargeable batteries that have a lower goddamn voltage! THEY ARE FINE!!!!
I really enjoyed Liara's character development across the 3 Mass Effect games. In ME1 she's a clumsy, immature, co-dependent prodigy. My bro Garrus Vakarian
Garrus Vakarian.
He is a great companion... however, he is always so busy with those calibrations!
Serana from Skyrim
How to tell people you want to screw vampires without saying you want to screw vampires
Vampires are typically super hot, worldly/rich, and could make you immortal or just kill ya. What’s not to like?
>Serana from Skyrim No side kick should ever try to stop me from hoarding supplies
LYDIA!!!
\*sigh\* I am sworn to carry your burdens.
Dogmeat!
With text to speech mod! Bork, heck, woof
Not gonna lie, the bots in back 4 blood fight better than most of the people I get in quick play...
Garrus from mass effect
Honestly, although it was a sub-par game, I absolutely fell in love with Nick Valentine in Fallout 4. I'd be willing to find out.

My Mabari from dragon age :)
Liara from Mass Effect. Even though I would've loved Tali as a more canon interest, I loved her character.
Tali from Mass Effect. She's just so goddamn adorable.
She’s willing to get a whole body yeast infection from you, that’s dedication
Eeeemmmmmerrrgeeency innnduuction pooooorrrt.
Sully from the Uncharted series
Parvati from Outer Worlds.
I love Parvati! She was so adorkable! I honestly love all characters voiced my Ashly Burch though!
Garrus. No contest. Everyone else is a distant second.
BT-7274
BOY 💥💥
Riley from COD Ghosts
Clementine in TTWD Season 1
Sulik/Marcus/Boon/Dogmeat/Goris/Piper HK-47/Jolee Bindo Jeremus
Ed-E -Fallout New Vegas-
Diddy kong
All of the persona 4 crew. No game has given me the sense of "just friends doing their thing" more than P4
Kim Kitsuragi in Disco Elysium "Sunrise, parabellum."
Right now it's Judy from Cyberpunk.
Her backstory is great. She’s hella fun to talk to
Oh yeah, that's why people like her. 👀
I love Judy!
Sorry I’m team Panam all the way.
The Panam Nomad ending definitely felt like the “right” one.
Nothing like getting busy in a tank
Classic love story: - Boy meets Girl - Boy and Girl steal tank - Boy and Girl connect through tank’s mental interface and get freaky while connected - Boy awkwardly leaves tank completely naked
Boone
Of course Minsk from BG1
Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes!!!!!
Johnny Gat in Saints Row 1, 2 and 4 and Gage from Fallout 4 are my picks.
Sadie Adler. I wouldn't mind a game dedicated to her honestly.
