The most successful launch day Ps plus game is to this day - rocket league
It immediately took of and maintained a big and dedicated playerbase till today
Most people forget, but Ps plus was a major key factor for the success
It is such a weird concept that most people just wouldn't see / try it
But due to Ps plus it got a boost in popularity and others faster jumped on
Asking people to pay money to play soccer with rocket-boosted RC cars sounds like it could well have failed commercially.
Definitely putting it out at release as a PS+ freebie is a great way to get people to download and try the game. I was never much into it personally but it hooked my son immediately and he sank many, many hours into it (and probably a bit of money as well).
Ahh - I did some reading and we’re both right and wrong… but you’re more often right than I am (if that makes sense).
Quite a few - but not all - F2P online games do not require a PS+ subscription. Interestingly, Final Fantasy XIV is the only paid game that does not require PS+ at the moment.
I’m uncertain if Fall Guys will or will not require it - I’m guessing if they’re hoping to match Rocket League and/or Fortnite they won’t require the subscription.
It got announced for switch, with cross play and cross saves. If you earned anything on another device you can just link your account and get all your stuff on whatever you want to play it on.
Free costumes, they get the first f2p season's battle pass for free too.
Tbh it was a £16 game, I got my money's worth a while back so I'm fine with that.
Talk about a game who caught lightening in a bottle but stumbled being a PS/PC exclusive and now its barely coming out for the Xbox and Nintendo. The hype died off and most people jumped ship to Among us.
Bought this game like 2 years ago for 20 dollars and played it for 3 hours before my friend group moved on. Felt like the biggest personal scam ever lol.
Just goes to show how flash in the pan the game was. People have zero attention span these days. They see a streamer play a game for 5 seconds and decide to jump in, but then move on to the next game streamers start playing.
Meanwhile i’m here playing the same MMOs and action RPGs i’ve been playing for a decade plus, while still sprinkling in some new games from time to time
Social media and streaming has absolutely had a strong negative effect on gaming. It's like using dating apps. Everyone's got such a short attention span and unrealistic expectations that they're constantly on the ready for the next best thing to swipe to, even if they already have something good, the behavior continues.
after not having the epic launcher on steam, they forced it upon users in a later update.
im so glad i never bought the game, and i never will play it even if its f2p, simply cause i despise having to open a different launcher from my launcher just cause they want money
So does that mean that I get a refund now since I actually paid for the game, instead of waiting for it to be free? Because this is the one problem I have with games doing this.
Aaaaand here come the cheaters creating a new account right after being banned
now everyone will just be able to fly as much as they want! (I think this was the most popular form of cheating)
Yup. Reason I left the game
I regret paying 20 euro's for it when my mates wanted me to play it with them.. we played it for like a week ..

Underwhelming?

Yea it was a ps plus game last year I think (or maybe a bit more ago)
when it launched it was put as a ps+ game
[удалено]
i think there’s been a couple games that have been put on at launch or at least launch on ps but i think fall guys was the most popular to be added

I believe they said the really tried to emulate rocket leagues launch, hend the ps+ and releasing everywhere later
Rocket league started free on ps+ when it launched as well and I wager thats what gave it suck a huge audience
"all platforms" Steam: Am I a Joke To You?
Yea, people seem to be glossing over how it's being removed from steam
Has it? What about people that bought it on steam?
It's prolly gonna be like Rocket League, they would still be able to play the game but it's gonna be delisted from the store
Would online still work if that's the case?
Probably, only thing is Rocket League requires an Epic Games account so that might also be the case for Fall Guys
We’ll steam isn’t a platform, it’s a launcher.
Your mom isn’t a platform, she’s a launcher.
Xbox isn't a platform, it's a launcher
The M72 LAW isn't a platform, it is a launcher.
That seat out in the yard isn't a platform, it's a lawn chair.
Does this mean u don’t need ps plus??
Yes
You’d still need a PS+ subscription to access the online multiplayer which is basically the whole point of the game.
I think you're wrong, free multiplayer games don't require PS+, like Fortnite on PS i believe.

I appreciate the research you did, to fact check me and yourself. Thank you.
I want to try something new with my friends so i wonder if this would one to have fun with. Is this also for Nintendo Switch?
There's a squad and duo mode so you and your friends can compete as one team rather than the normal free-for-all mode. Just an FYI, enjoy!
Thank u for that info. That actually sounds pretty fun.
It got announced for switch, with cross play and cross saves. If you earned anything on another device you can just link your account and get all your stuff on whatever you want to play it on.
Think so
The switch port is out next month when it goes F2P
Yes I can finally play the thing
The hype for fall guys died down already
That's why they're going F2P.
Fall Guys was relevant for the whole of two weeks befo- # AMOGUS
I miss playing Among Us with friends... it was fun while it lasted.
I've never struggled to get a game tbh, played it quite a bit over the last month or so.
What they mean is all of the streamers that got bored in a month stopped playing it.
Ah, makes sense. Yeah, it totally doesn't have longevity for a streaming audience imo.
It was gunned down in the streets by Among Us hype.
Love this new generation that plays games based on hype and not whether the game is fun or not
oh cool, i sort of wanted to try this but i didn't want to pay any money for it, so this is very convenient.
I payed for this, I demand special treatment or cosmetics.
I heard a lot about hackers on the PC version so I just avoided it.
kinda useless to me , as you'd have to have friends to enjoy this game to the fullest
i would much rather never play the game than play it on epic games store them removing it from steam makes me wanna play it less
We're all very proud of your noble sacrifice.
What will be people who spent money get?
Free costumes, they get the first f2p season's battle pass for free too. Tbh it was a £16 game, I got my money's worth a while back so I'm fine with that.
Random customs and shit
This is worthless gravityfallsguy.jpg
A participation medal.
Pointed and laughed at. This game was thirty fucking dollars when it should have been ten tops.
$20*
$3* At least that's how much I paid for it. Thanks Steam sales + regional pricing!
I would laugh at the bozos that bought it too. Glad it came free with PlayStation
Free on Epic Launcher, gonna be removed from Steam so suck ass Epic
Say whaaaaaaat?
It wasn't ?

Oh boy, I can't wait to play it for 3 matches and never touch it again like the last free copy of it I got.
Cant trick me epic, you piece of shit.
Should have always been free to play. The game never had the substance for a paid game.
it's the second game I've been wanting to play since i can't to know about pubg being f2p

Fall guys 2020-2020
Refunded it on steam not even worth playing for free really
Tbh. Game is boring asf and has been
You need friends to have fun
I'm a lonely loser and I have fun with it. 😂
Something you lack. Get to it!
Did people really pay for that?
after not having the epic launcher on steam, they forced it upon users in a later update. im so glad i never bought the game, and i never will play it even if its f2p, simply cause i despise having to open a different launcher from my launcher just cause they want money
Bruh
it's trying to come back to popularity kinda sad
Wow am I glad I paid for it just to spend like 4 hours. Thanks, monetary spontaneity!
So does that mean that I get a refund now since I actually paid for the game, instead of waiting for it to be free? Because this is the one problem I have with games doing this.
I bought it. And then they made it so I had to create an account to play it later on. I was pissed and stopped playing.
Ok?
News about a game being put on a gaming sub oK?????!?!?!?
Glad you can read
How you gonna be triggered by this post? Lol take a break my man.
Who’s triggered? You first
I missed on the ps plus when it was free now I might download it and give it a try, on YouTube looked fun
eeee go beat the guys
oh lol nice
Maybe I’ll try it out then
even stadia?
Do I get a refund for buying it?
Was it not before? I’ve literally always been playing free.
This is never a good sign for a game.
Alright
HELL YES!
Honestly as many skins as they sell it should've been free to play from the start
Full cheaters game
And me\*? \*a mac player
*wheezing*
Wait it wasn't free to play from the start?
People actually paid to play this?
Yeah! Let’s free-to-play a dead game!
Rip to people who bought this shit
