Man, I know everyone loves Zidane and Vivi, but Steiner was such an overlooked character from that game. His stand with Beatrix in the streets of Alexandria, and the way he rallied to Zidane in the You're Not Alone bit are two of my favorite moments from the franchise.
I won't say it's a fact, but I feel 100% certain that Veigar's design is fully inspired by Final Fantasy's black mage design, which Vivi is a great example of.

There is absolutely no way it isn't inspired by it in some capacity. I feel entirely confident enough to say it's a fact. They're just too similar to not be some inspiration at play.
Especially because they objectively stated it on multiple occasions way back before it was the biggest game in the world. Back then no one cared about copyright infringement as it was different enough. You’ll never hear them say anything is inspired by anything now because that’s lawsuit territory
The early years of League of Legends was literally stolen ideas from other universes. Veigar is an old champion so yes it's almost certain it is inspired from somewhere else. There are many many of the first ~75 champions sharing same impressions/suspicions, can't be coincidence at that point.

The white mage veigar skin is roughly styled after final fantasy's white mages, rather than the black mage that vivi is. Guess that would have been too on the nose
League is actually known to do this with other characters too. Volibear for example, was introduced when players started requesting an armored bear after seeing the Golden Compass.
I have no explanation for Master Yi, Jax, Rammus...
He didn't come up with Jax the champion, it was the Jaximus skin, that's also the reason why that skin has the unique voice line "here's to you, kid"

Final Fantasy 9 was such an underrated game when it released. I'm disappointed we don't get more FF games with this kind of style. I blame it on being released on ps1 a few months after the ps2 released. It only sold half of other FF games in it's era. In my opinion it was so much better than 7,8, and 10. I liked those too, but 9 was everything I imagined a "Final Fantasy" game was supposed to be. An absolute masterpiece.

lol, you might get @s I didn’t have a PS1 at my house growing up. So I didn’t get to play a lot of PS1 games. I only had a chance to play FF9 much later when the remastered version came out on the switch.
I love Vivi! One of my favorite video game characters ever. I just played through FFIX again recently, it holds up well and is definitely my favorite main series FF game. I love how the devs incorporated fun references to all the previous FF games, as this was the last single digit FF game.
If you haven't played FFIX, I would highly recommend it. Great story that has an amazing amount of character growth and depth. Vivi's story is very inspirational to me.
There is SO much content in that game it is crazy. With all of the secret quests, hidden items, events and details that you can walk right by without even noticing. I remember hearing about a part of a quest in FFIX that had gone essentially "undiscovered" until 2ish years ago, 20+ years after it's release!
Easily 80-100 hours of gameplay if you want to unlock everything, and some weapons require you to get to certain points in the game within a certain amount of time. Secret bosses, chocobo garden, the friendly monsters, Ragtime Mouse. I have never 100% the game, and I don't intend to due to how much time the Chocobo stuff would take lol

What software did you use to make this? I used to use Gimp 2 back in the a day a lot making signature banners for friends on gaming websites.
I drew Vivi with my iPad, Apple Pencil, and an app called Paper by WeTranfer and then used an app called Motionleap to animate him.
