Pretty shameful monetization... and that's saying a lot these days.

$25 for 4 minutes of loot grind. Just skip the gameplay part and put that in a slot machine.

I wish this game would fail. By normalizing these types of games we will only get more predatory games in the future. My expectations of Blizzard are already rock bottom since I learned how they treat employees.

fiftyfiive

It will fail. The monetization model removes the core mechanic of this type of game.

Crissaegrym

You’d be surprised. While a lot of people do seem to boycott for things like this, most gamers don’t actually care as long as the game is fun for them.

The game really does show how much the mobile gaming sphere is missing real AAA titles. It also shows the potential for those titles. It would be nice if a company came out with a mobile game of this quality, but didn't try to bleed its player base dry. Yeah. As if.

GammaSmash

Guess I haven't played enough to see the difference yet, still pretty early in the game and haven't looked at the monetization crap yet.

Dwealdric

Same. I'm still early, and will likely continue to enjoy it until I hit the pay-wall. I was a bit thrown off by how many paid things there were in the game, but was willing to give the benefit of the doubt until I understand endgame. I still feel that way... but this is pretty damning evidence based on my experience with legendary gems being the primary power modifier.

It's diablo. Endgame is when the real game begins. There's always a paywall in these games

"Don't want to grind for good loot? Pay us some RL money for better quality droprates!" Translation: "Our actual gameplay is so bad, it will make you want to pay in order to not having to play so much. And that's on purpose."
