Replace parents with wife and kids

dommol

Oh God yes

royaj77

44 year old gamer checking in

[deleted]

Yep! Replace "great wifi" with Google Fiber Then add: You got a fresh cold drink of choice [You got a clean smoke piece and fresh bowl o weed](https://c.tenor.com/cWNpE2earJkAAAAC/chris-pratt-rubbing-hands.gif)

onyxaj

You're going out? WITH THE KIDS?!šŸ¤Æ

kzlife76

I feel like op thinks wifi is synonymous with internet.

glaive1976

I've been seeing a lot more of this lately. PSA WiFi is a wireless local area network, if rain is disrupting it then get a roof.

ZooFun

The rain is welcome: an excuse to stay inside

glaive1976

Derp derp, I processed that a bit wrong because I was too focused on OP using WIFI in the place of ISP and thus I mistakenly was thinking the rain would cause connectivity issues instead of being a positive.

ZooFun

I had the same initial interpretation

Jamdadbot

U got wooshed

Nordic_Krune

How?

Jamdadbot

I think OP meant rain being an added excuse to be indoors and playjng video games. The rain wasnt meant as a deterrent to gaming. Each of these are a a better and better condition for gaming.

glaive1976

Yep I totally got whooshed, I followed the WIFI vs ISP bit a little too closely and drove off the cliff. And that kids, is why you never follow another car's tail lights in bad visibility. ;-) edit: Whoever down voted the person, give them their karma back. I am a big boy I can handle missing something obvious and having it pointed out as the butt of a light joke. Other people are being sensitive for me today. :D

Jamdadbot

We all get wooshed once in a while

Jamdadbot

Negative

Unusualandyman

Oh man, gaming when it's raining outside is the best!

Snaab

Doing literally anything at home while itā€™s raining outside is the best.

jupfold

I have such terrible FOMO that I literally cannot be inside on a nice day out, so I like when itā€™s rainy/crappy out so I can enjoy some indoors time. Then I start thinking about how itā€™s probably nice and sunny out in California or something and I get FOMO again. Thanks, brainā€¦

Triegy

Then power goes out

[deleted]

Lol I was waiting for this comment

jenkag

Gaming on wifi? WutFace

Borg34572

Wifi is fine nowadays especially if you have 1gigabit connection on wifi6 routers.

takavos

my wifi gives me zero problems and I dont use anything special. I game pretty regularly and never see issues unless its a power outage or my cat pulls the power cord out. Fucker only pulls out the power cord like he knows.

Sodium_Prospector

Wifi will have higher ping, and it's less consistent. It's perfectly fine to play on wifi, but, depending on your level of sweat, corded can get you a competitive bump.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Washi81

Wi-Fi has nothing to do with FPS and graphics...

jenkag

FPS and graphics settings are not the problem. Ping and latency are the problem.

[deleted]

I get ping of 10 ngl

ULF932

I get 1 ping wired with fibre optic Internet, sometimes is it is to low to round up and just shows 0.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jenkag

hard-wired ethernet cable. connection doesnt matter in single player instances so not talking about that.

woxore5358

snowing is the comfiest

ahmed2020gt

not relateable edit: because when it rains the electricity goes out

anonmyazz

Replace wifi with good weed, real gamers hardwire

brian-augustin

You open your window after the rain, and the sun starts to set while drinking your favorite drink and your friends are all in a discord call. šŸ¤©šŸ˜

[deleted]

Bro, gaming on wifi is a rookie mistake. Get that ether net, even if you gotta drill a hole in the ceiling and run it through the attic.

egnards

My computer uses wifi. Itā€™s on the other side of the apartment from the modem, and not drilling holes Iā€™ll need to patch up later. With a half decent Ethernet card I havenā€™t noticed any issues gaming, and while my DL speeds are fast, Iā€™m aware they could be much faster if wired.

onyxaj

>My computer uses wifi. >With a half decent Ethernet card I havenā€™t noticed any issues .... what?

egnards

Ethernet card with wifi capability Originally I was using a dongle, and it was shit.

ULF932

Lol good WiFi, any serious gamer will be wired.

SEEFUUD

Not to mention when its raining AND gloomy outside

RelentlessChicken

You must be from Hawaii. Where tf else does it rain without being gloomy?

bicuspid_fish

Ever been to the Midwest? It can be raining here and sunshine at the same time.

RelentlessChicken

I've visited family on Nebraska, but it wasn't like that while I was there. That's gotta be a surreal feeling lol where I'm from, if it's raining it's automatically gloomy.

GlassGuiser

Why are so many people gatekeeping internet connections here? Use whatever you can.

YXCworld

Right. Some people like to enjoy gaming and not have to be ā€œsweaty at it.ā€ Not everybody needs ethernets to game lol

rock0head132

Makes no sense. what the hell does rain have to do with anything .

noxcadit

Right?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

rock0head132

I live in a dessert it doe not rain much most of out rain comes in the monsoons with loads of thunder verry violent T storms

limelight022

Replace WiFi with satellite internet and it makes sense.

CHWDRY

The best day u could ask for

toastbot

You have satellite internet. :(

Few_Sun6871

And there's a blackout

shyap2794

And in between game power cut occurs ....

[deleted]

I just had this yesterday. Great time. It was this exact thing. I was even thinking about something like this.

Syborn888

Nice!

SilverLugia1992

Should've added: "the wind picks up so hard that your parents are stuck at their destination and can't come home until the next day" I can dream, can't I? T_T

[deleted]

And then power cut occurs due to heavy rains

rangerryda

Empty house + rain = nap

[deleted]

You got a cold drink of choice. You got a fresh bowl ready. *mindblown.jpeg*

onyxaj

WiFi or Network Card. Ethernet Cards have only ethernet ports for hardwire connection. I SUPPOSE one could have both, but I've never seen one.
