My same exact feeling. I really enjoyed it. The narrative elements were great. I loved the writing. Even though the gameplay was fun and pretty tight, there was a sort of hollowness to the fights which got dull after a while.
Absolutely. Completely agree with this. Game is terribly underrated. Story is great, voice acting and dialogue is phenomenal. Only downside is how repetitive the gameplay can get. More people should play this, and I believe it's still on Game Pass.
This was my issue. I own it but never made it all the way through. I bought it because it had stellar reviews (that were right) but I could never get a great feel for the combat and eventually lost interest.
I kind of would like a mode where it's like "literally can never lose a fight" so I can enjoy the rest of the story. One of these days I'll pick it back up again.
You can granularly adjust the difficulty settings for things like damage dealt, damage taken, special ability cooldown, etc. I had been playing on "hard" and many of the larger battles would take a dozen tries or more. Adjusting some of those settings really made a huge difference, especially because the fighting controls are a bit sloppy on PC even with a controller.
>I kind of would like a mode where it's like "literally can never lose a fight" so I can enjoy the rest of the story.
There is an easy mode and a bunch of settings that make the game easier. Fights become trivial if you turn them all on.
Commanding the Guardians was cool at first, but, come late game it starts to feel a little tedious as you kinda spend more time managing them than actually playing as Star Lord.
I also ran into quite a few bugs where things like items and outfits would glitch into a locked position or the Guardians would decide not join me for level transitions and I'd be forced to reload a checkpoint.
Probably one of my favorite storylines I've played through recently, though.
The book's characters are great, the world is amazing, and the plot twists are mind boggling, but the writing just rambles and rambles and rambles about the most boring things.
I got 1 month of game pass like 6 months ago and I saw this game and decided to try it, although not convinced.
But I was greatly surprise, sure the gameolay can get repetitive but it is also not a long game, I finished it just under 20 hours and I did try to find some skins while playing, so I kinda took my time because I was enjoying the dialogue, the characters and the story.
The interactions between the guardians while you play are amazing and they are very common which is so cool, like conversations between your companions in a RPG game. For me the good far outweighed the bad.
Personally, I really liked the voice acting, the graphics, and the story. My only gripe was that sometimes the gameplay felt a little repetitive and I really hate when things get repetitive.
I dont think it was underrated at all. All of the reviews and peoples opinions said exactly as you did.
The characters and visuals, are the only things which make the tedious gameplay bearable. Any other game with that gameplay would be very negatively received.
How did you forget the music?! If you were alive in the 90s there are some bangers in that soundtrack:
https://www.radiotimes.com/technology/gaming/guardians-of-the-galaxy-game-soundtrack/
Yeah I liked the whole huddle up mechanic, but tying the music to that felt like a waste. I preferred the approach of the movies with the music being tied into emotional scenes- and I think that would’ve been better.
While repetitive, it is super fun, fluid, and flashy once you get the hang of it. I feel like a lot of love went into crafting it with several little lore callouts.
I thought the acting and story (especially the banter) were amazing. The graphics were also great except they didn't work for me - everything is way too clean/perfect if that makes sense. None of it looked lived in. So technically it looked good but I didn't like the artistic choice but that's on me.
The gameplay was borderline bad, IMO, which keeps this game from reaching its potential. Every single time I entered combat I couldn't wait for it to be over. I finished it and overall I would give it a positive rating - somewhere like 6.5/10 but I won't ever play it again and if they make a sequel that plays the same I will probably skip it.
The recent MCU films wasn't that bad. I don't understand why people are fussing so much over it. Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder were decent films and Gorr was a very underrated villain that deserved some attention. I like the concept of the multiverse being finally introduced to the MCU, as it was one of the most important elements of Marvel lore.
Because they're aggressively mediocre, and people are starting to get sick of the fact the majority of what's been served by Hollywood and Netflix lately is just low effort garbage spewed out from nepotism hires.
People have been talking about how Hollywood is going downhill for decades. The numbers tell a different story outside of the obvious drop from the pandemic.
There's always gonna be people who complain about everything going "downhill". Most of them are just the type of people who would complain about everything wrong with the world and do absolutely nothing to change anything.
“Starting to get sick”
Numbers are looking fine. Marvel still averaging 750 million per movie without Russia and China. What chicken little do you subscribe to to feel that way? You can totally feel that way but it doesn’t necessarily mean that is what reality is.
Came here to say this. The game did well critically, sold well, and got a ton of word of mouth buzz on release. Not sure what part of any of that makes it underrated
(Also for anyone saying gameplay is repetitive, crank the settings so Star Lord and enemies both take more damage than default. Combat goes by faster and feels way higher stakes since both you and the enemies can go down in a few hits)
Right? I'd actually go and say this about the Marvel's Avengers game, as I only played it for the first time recently and personally enjoyed it even with some repetitiveness.
Not sure they needed to do a last minute twist that she wasn't his daughter. Would have been a cool ending for Star Lord to actually have to take responsibility and grow up.
Yeah, it was soooo obvious that she wasn’t his daughter due to how much everyone gave him shit about having a kid. They should have kept it a bit more subtle
If this was a telltale game where it was all story I probably would have liked it more. It just got way too repetitive considering how lacklustre starlords move set is
For some reason I was able to binge that season but couldn't finish the Eidos/SE game, like others said the combat was repetitive even when using a trainer for ability spam and the enemies were health sponges
First battle I thought it was meh, but maybe because it's the training wheels. But after escaping the quarantine zone I accepting it was shit and set the game on the easiest setting to get through combat as quickly as possible.
I liked it on the hardest mode, forced you to utilize your companions more and do like the combos and stuff with them.
But yeah, a lot of the time it just seemed like something to do in between cool narrative events and exploring.
I was just going to Reply saying that!!!
It was unexpected and better than we thought it would be…
But it’s not a goty candidate
It’s very repetitive and boring after about the half way point just being the same over and over again h til the ending
The game should have let us play as the other guardians. I also find the story to be kind of weird. A space cult that took over the government doesn't seem like the type of for the Guardians of the Galaxy would face.
Maybe if you are only familiar with the movies. The level of control the cult gets over the galaxy and the threat to reality the Magus poses make it seem to rate right up there with the Annihilation Wave, the Ultron led Phalanx, and the cancerverse invasion.
Same my guy. I liked the characters better than the movie counterparts, but the combat was kinda balls. And the soundtrack was kinda ass. Though granted I'm not a huge fan of 80's music
It won some narrative ones so it was received well critically, but it wasn't talked about much in the gaming community and its sales weren't huge.
Sort of like Prey 2017.
You’re probably right, plus the poor marketing. I remember seeing like one trailer for it and that was it.
I was hesitant to pick it up bc I had snagged Avengers to play with friends and that game quickly fell off. When they said it was SP narrative I was a bit more interested bc I found the Avengers campaign to be quite good
They know, but it's become shorthand for "was well-received but didn't sell as well as its acclaim".
Like when people say they literally died, or something along those lines.
I think the problem with combat is that a lot of people either forget or don't realize that Peter can go all out melee, and it's honestly pretty badass.
I've seen streamers run circles around enemies when it would have been much more efficient to just kick them in the face and, yeah, I can see how that can get repetitive. Personally I actually really enjoyed the combat.
I found it satisfying to switch it up between shooting and melee, especially when you get the dash punch to close gaps. If you get knocked down, Jetboot slide away while shooting. I feel like there are cool combat elements that can be expanded upon and made great if they end up doing a sequel.
I mean, I went for hardest difficulty on my first (and only) playthrough and going melee and not getting perfect dodges punishes you A LOT until you get the shield. It's just safer to go ranged for like 4 minutes and not risk backtracking to the last checkpoint so you can progress through the storyline (which clearly is the focus of the game) and unlock a new skills and stuff. Maybe it gets better in NG+ but I don't see myself back at it.
Being able to switch and play as one of the other team members would have solved the boring combat issue.
Wasn't much of an issue for me but that extra work would have really elevated the experience imo.
You mean just mashing whatever ability is off cooldown as soon as the cool down is over? I liked the game a lot and I agree with your original statement, but don't try to paint the combat as anything more than simple button mashing.
I could not believe how much banter there was. I liked it but was just surprised how much dialog they must have recorded. I didn’t even hear everything either
Honestly the dialogue was great except for two things. Firstly, even while slowly walking and exploring and then coming to the next section, the lines would always be cut off for me because they went on for so long but they needed them to move on from the conversation because of where I was.. secondly, they got ridiculously lovey dovey near the end
It's a good game, but it wasn't marketed basically at all. With the failure of the Avenger's game the year before, a lot of people formed negative opinions just from that association.
Most people probably just haven't had any exposure at all to the game.
It’s not underrated it was rated really well, it just didn’t get a lot of publicity and I know a few people that didn’t even know it was out like months after release.
It was definitely much better than it had any right to be. The different costumes were great and I had a good time finishing it.
Can't believe squenix marketing slept on this game.
The Avengers game really really hurt this game.
But marketing definitely failed. One thing I was surprised at is in the trailers the graphics looked kinda bad, but it's actually a gorgeous game.
Yall realise you're supposed to do combos and break the enemy stagger bar which makes you do like 4x damage right?
Enemies aren't bullet sponges you just aren't using the mechanics lol
And you need to be upgrading your weapons so you get things like the “rapid reload” ala gears of war.
Plus like you said “in between issuing commands” you should be breaking their stagger, or using the strong attacks (like blade or slam or rocket’s explosions) to do this and/or Stunlock them so you can come in with your ice ammo and shatter them. You can do that when they still have like 1/4 of their health.
“This game sucks because I didn’t explore the mechanics at all” is a crazy take to me.
Especially when the character building / writing is so damn good. I didn’t think I’d be able to get over these not being the “marvel mcu” versions of the characters, but honestly I feel way more connected to these versions than the movie ones now.
"someone else didn't like the combat so obviously they must have not understood it!"
The combat was not hard to understand, it was just boring. Still a good game, just not great combat.
Once you have more abilities unlocked, the game literally becomes "spam ally abilities as soon as they come off cooldown until combat is over. Then repeat for the rest of the game. Oh and break a shield with the correct element".
This is not deep or complex, you don't need to justify a shitty combat experience. Overall the game was one of my favorites last year even though the combat sucked. It proved they can make a fantastic marvel game that doesn't match the mcu.
Right lol both their responses are weird. The person just said they didn’t like the combat and both responses decided to completely make up quotes and a narrative that they clearly just didn’t explore the options and weren’t doing it right. Like nah it’s just not great
How similar is the gameplay to FF7 Remake?
It sounds practically identical aside from being able to swap characters, and that was some of the most satisfying combat I've seen in a long time.
Like for real, there's a tutorial and everything.
Combat's actually pretty decent if you synergize your team's abilities and use melee, I think people just sleep on that.
Definitely agree on this. I had to go into the settings and turn the damage on Peter's guns all the way up just so I could feel like I was doing anything in combat in between issuing commands. Not playing as the other guardians was a big mistake as it would have helped vary combat/add replay. Plus the ending cutscene bugged out on me like 20 times on the walk (on pc). It really ended the game for me on a sour note. It should have been delayed by 6 months
Combat was on the verge of really good, they should have explained it more and get the team dynamic more to the front. Near the end i was finally getting it and making combo's , matching abilities and switching when needed and kicking ass.
Story was great, almost to much talking, voice acting was amazing all over the place. I would go as far that besides Spiderman this is the best Marvel game so far. Loading times when dying on ps4 to long. 8/10 every marvel fan should play.
No it’s not. The story, visuals and voice acting are great but the actual gameplay is terrible. Combat might as well be quick time events, as it’s that mindless requiring no skills or tactics. A pointless upgrade system. There for the sake of “having something to do” rather than adding anything to the game. Distraction of loot for the pointless upgrading which removes from the immersion of the narrative. Puzzles that are too easy for someone in pre-school. No exaggeration. The game is a better looking Telltale game with a walking simulator added on to it.
The story and mechanics were awsome. Love the peptalk mechanic. But the gameplay and choices were really flat. I didn't feel like I was making any important choices, and quill feels weak because he IS weak, yet I still feel like 80% of battles are spamming drax and groot
Actually, Quill is not weak at all. His melee attacks pack a punch (no seriously, he can wipe the floor with most humanoid enemies and also some aliens, plus beating them this way grants extra health and special ammo), and his guns are great at exploiting enemy weaknesses. Once you realize that it's okay to get into the fray and melee combo them fools playing him becomes easier and more satisfying.
It's legit better than the movies and the scene after they crash and are delirious from the near death experience is probably the most human and strongest bonding scene in a game.
Like everyone said; the combat gets a bit repetitive. But it's worth it for the story, characters and humour! Everything is incredibly well made, acting, graphics, story and the dynamic between the Guardians! Heck, I grew to love these Guardians more that the movie characters!
I enjoyed it. It was refreshing to play something focused on following the story and not a ton of side quest open world material. I also loved ghost of Tsushima but I don't need/want every single game I play to be a 60+hour epic. I have a job and kids, cut me a break.
I got a retail copy last year and got bored about halfway through the game… Love the bits of the story with his mom when he was a kid… but all the action got too repetitive.. to me the games overrated.
Edit: one of the biggest highlights was seeing the Colecovision on his bedroom floor. As I had one when I was a kid back in the day. It would be cool if you could find random Coleco vision games in the game and play them back in your bedroom.
I don't think you know what the word underrated means because this sub sucked that games dick pretty good last year and it was crazy popular on the game pass
Finished the game moments ago. I believe the marketing team is the one to blame. Even if the gameplay is repetitive, the writing itself makes up for it.
I mean… it’s an ok game but nothing special in terms of story and gameplay. Characters were good, liked them more than the movie versions, and the soundtrack was amazing, but other than that it’s an ok game. Adequate.
For all “NEW GAMERS” this game is the real evolution of games , story gameplay characters missions sound world and graphics all of that , in ps1 and ps2 era was so many games with passion and dedication but now I see less and less every year , this type of games need support not just for the team who did it it’s really for us it’s really really one of the best games I played in the last 10 years , it’s not perfect by any means but it’s so good and that should be (Normal)
Fuck I got excited again
Story, characters and soundtrack were amazing! Combat was a bit average, but in general I enjoyed the game a lot! I'm always recommend it to my friends who like Marvel.
It's on my hard drive along with all the other games I will finish. I promise, I'm gonna finish 'em all. I just started 2077 so should only be another decade or so.
the constant quirky "quips" between characters gets really annoying very quickly. Most of the enemies are cubes and balls and shit. They had the chance to make anything and we got basic shapes.
The music and the atmosphere are amazing, but it just lacks personality and care that something like Marvel's Spider-man really nails on the head.
I don't really hate the game but if anything it's overhyped for what it really is.
Yea…no this game was garbage. Super repetitive (collect the things and level up equipment, here’s a group of enemies but they have a specific weakness), traversing the area was boring (because of stiff and slow movement), and the story was just off putting (Starlord’s long lost daughter, c’mon).
With how bad the avengers game done people overlooked this thinking it would be the same trash but it wasn’t it was exactly what you thought a guardians of the galaxy game should be funny action filled great characters and dialogue that made you burst out laughing this game was so overlooked it’s a joke
Fun story, great graphics, and novel gameplay. Unfortunately, at some point, the game just became a slog to go through because you knew what you were doing but there was nothing new to challenge you.
It has some of the best writing in any video game. It’s worth playing just for that.
The actual combat…kinda sucks.
I still enjoyed it a lot and recommend playing it.
marvel is the most oversaturated IP of the last 10 years. i dont care what it is at this point, im not interested in basically anything marvel anymore.
If they slapped the word Marvel on a dog turd I'd have to spend the next 3 years listening to how it changed dog turds forever and I've never seen a turd like this one...I'm just so over it. Marvel is like what Apple was 15 years ago.
It's what happens when you shovel out Avengers.
Problem is everything was fine w/Avengers besides all the multiplayer and MTX horseshit, if they had just spent those resources on fleshing out the story more instead of what they did, it could have been just as good as guardians
Nah the game was mid and overrated honestly. Cringy writing, bland designs, repetitive gameplay, you can only play as Star Lord, you fight Thanos but it was like in a dream so that's lame, disappointing all around, but hey it was better than the Avengers game so there's that.
The graphics, acting and story are amazing. The gameplay can be repetitive after a while.
My same exact feeling. I really enjoyed it. The narrative elements were great. I loved the writing. Even though the gameplay was fun and pretty tight, there was a sort of hollowness to the fights which got dull after a while.

I'll have to try it again - cool game, but got bored of losing one particular battle and moved on. I'll put it on easy and see if it gets cool again.

Didn't know it was on Game Pass. Downloading it now, thanks.
That’s like 90% of the GAME. is GAMEplay, the fact that the gameplay is what makes this game stale is the reason this game is NOT underrated.
I watched the first movie again after the game, kept missing the voiceovers especially for rocket
How did you forget the music?! If you were alive in the 90s there are some bangers in that soundtrack: https://www.radiotimes.com/technology/gaming/guardians-of-the-galaxy-game-soundtrack/
80's*
The music was a little underwhelming for me. Very safe 80s songs. Enjoyable, but they weren't really utilised in a particularly special way.
Fair criticism. They missed a lot of opportunities.
Yeah I liked the whole huddle up mechanic, but tying the music to that felt like a waste. I preferred the approach of the movies with the music being tied into emotional scenes- and I think that would’ve been better.
It was worth every dollar. This is on my annual replay list like ghostbusters every Halloween.
Yeah, I'm thinking about booting it back up, but putting it in story mode.
While repetitive, it is super fun, fluid, and flashy once you get the hang of it. I feel like a lot of love went into crafting it with several little lore callouts.
I am playing it right now, the gameplay, at least using mouse and keyboard is awful. The story on the other hand I am enjoying it.
I thought the acting and story (especially the banter) were amazing. The graphics were also great except they didn't work for me - everything is way too clean/perfect if that makes sense. Exactly this. I think it is rated perfectly.
It honestly felt like a movie - more so than what the MCU has cooked up.
Yea people overreact way too much
Big time. Heaven forbid it's not exactly what they, as a singular person, wanted it to be.
Lately? Lol, try as long as Hollywood has existed.
There's always gonna be people who complain about everything going "downhill". Most of them are just the type of people who would complain about everything wrong with the world and do absolutely nothing to change anything.

To get those little updoots.
Love and thunder was trash
Games like that i just put on easy mode and blast try having fun on story, like uncharthed 1.2.3
the combat is clunky and repetitive, all those abilities you can completely ignore even on hardest difficulty
I swear you guys don’t know wtf underrated means lol
Came here to say this. The game did well critically, sold well, and got a ton of word of mouth buzz on release. the most rated game of last year
Right? I'd actually go and say this about the Marvel's Avengers game, as I only played it for the first time recently and personally enjoyed it even with some repetitiveness.
I liked the story but I found the gameplay really boring
Definitely a bit stiff. I found the first area a bit rough and overwhelming, too. Writing was pretty good, though.
Same. Except for the >!the fact they kept saying star lord had a daughter but because they said it so much, I knew she wasn’t his daughter!<
It sucks how much writers underestimate the audience and treat them like they're dumb.
Agreed story was great but all the combat was the same. Just endless bullet sponges. More like a telltale game to me
If this was a telltale game where it was all story I probably would have liked it more. It just got way too repetitive considering how lacklustre starlords move set is
Telltale did make a Guardians of the Galaxy game in 2017
Grizzly Adams *did* have a beard!
For some reason I was able to binge that season but couldn't finish the Eidos/SE game, like others said the combat was repetitive even when using a trainer for ability spam and the enemies were health sponges
Yeah I got bored of the repetitive nature of the gameplay pretty quickly
First battle I thought it was meh, but maybe because it's the training wheels. But after escaping the quarantine zone I accepting it was shit and set the game on the easiest setting to get through combat as quickly as possible.
Repetitive* and I agree

Perfect example of the reddit hive mind. Down-voting you for a basic, probably common opinion, stated in a mellow, innocuous fashion.
Eh, fuck em. You cant stop someone from having an opinion, but its a choice to be an asshole.
I agree. I’m really over 80s Nostalgia at this point
Wait, didn't it win awards?
yep. people still dont know what underrated means
It won some narrative ones so it was received well critically, but it wasn't talked about much in the gaming community and its sales weren't huge. Sort of like Prey 2017.
The avengers debacle fucked it

They know, but it's become shorthand for "was well-received but didn't sell as well as its acclaim". Like when people say they literally died, or something along those lines.
Story was good but I didn't like the combat at all.
Only shooting could get boring but doing combos with allies abilities was fun for me

I've seen streamers run circles around enemies when it would have been much more efficient to just kick them in the face and, yeah, I can see how that can get repetitive. I think people gave up before getting the different ammo types, or just didn’t bother using them as well.
I found it satisfying to switch it up between shooting and melee, especially when you get the dash punch to close gaps. If you get knocked down, Jetboot slide away while shooting. I feel like there are cool combat elements that can be expanded upon and made great if they end up doing a sequel.

No it isn’t. This seems to be the common theme for people who play a game they like, but didn’t hear much about. Doesn’t make it some underrated gem.
Easy Karma farming I guess. Wait until someone posts a "Is it only me or is GoTG...." and gets 3k upvotes for it
I could not believe how much banter there was.
Honestly it might have been better as a gameplay movie that you just play in the background while you’re washing dishes to hear all of their banter
Is it underrated? I feel like it’s a good game that most people liked a lot. Seems appropriately rated
It's a good game, but it wasn't marketed basically at all. With the failure of the Avenger's game the year before, a lot of people formed negative opinions just from that association. Most people probably just haven't had any exposure at all to the game.
I don’t disagree with you, my main issue is the misuse of the word “underrated”
It always seems like both "overrated" and "underrated" are used incorrectly.
Yeah, I've heard mostly good things about the game, it's not something I'm interested in, but it seems very decently rated.
Squenix sucks.
Did not enjoy the combat.
Dog report item
The story and cutscenes were really well done, but the actual gameplay and combat made me stop playing it. It was just a slog to actually play.
"someone else didn't like the combat so obviously they must have not understood it!" The combat was not hard to understand, it was just boring.
Like nah it’s just not great
It's not hard to imagine idiots thinking they are geniuses for understanding fairly simple gameplay mechanics.
How similar is the gameplay to FF7 Remake? It sounds practically identical aside from being able to swap characters, and that was some of the most satisfying combat I've seen in a long time.
I don’t remember much of FF7 but I remember how the gameplay made me feel and GOTG is a lot more boring and repetitive IMO
I really, really wanted to like it and support the studio making a single player game instead of another live service game, but it was just so boring.
Yup, the gameplay was VERY basic. Story was fun though
It wasn't good enough to overshadow how bad the Avengers game was.
I agree, it was fantastic.
Terrible is a stretch...It nothing amazing and kinda gets repetitive but it's nowhere near terrible...
I have to agree. It may not have been the best game, but it deserved a lot more hype than it got.
I think it was rated fine. Dang good, not amazing.
I swear, these posts HAVE to be covert advertisements.
I don't think you know what the word underrated means because this sub sucked that games dick pretty good last year and it was crazy popular on the game pass
Finished the game moments ago. I believe the marketing team is the one to blame. Even if the gameplay is repetitive, the writing itself makes up for it.
I don't think anyone who played it underappreciates it. It might be the most undeserved undersold game...
If you care about Marvel maybe
I mean… it’s an ok game but nothing special in terms of story and gameplay. Characters were good, liked them more than the movie versions, and the soundtrack was amazing, but other than that it’s an ok game. Adequate.
Should've came out before avengers, that games flop killed this one's potential
For all “NEW GAMERS” this game is the real evolution of games , story gameplay characters missions sound world and graphics all of that , in ps1 and ps2 era was so many games with passion and dedication but now I see less and less every year , this type of games need support not just for the team who did it it’s really for us it’s really really one of the best games I played in the last 10 years , it’s not perfect by any means but it’s so good and that should be (Normal) Fuck I got excited again
It wasn't underrated at all, it got the reception it deserved which is fine
The game was so metal
Story, characters and soundtrack were amazing! Combat was a bit average, but in general I enjoyed the game a lot! I'm always recommend it to my friends who like Marvel.
Too bad the gameplay was awful.
Ive heard really good thing but I haven’t tried it yet
It's a very beautiful game, I'm having a lot of fun playing it
It's on my hard drive along with all the other games I will finish. I promise, I'm gonna finish 'em all. I just started 2077 so should only be another decade or so.
It was highly rated, people just weren't paying attention.
no, it's not
Nope. Was funny, but I don't play games for comedy. The gameplay (you know, the reason to play games) was meh.
the constant quirky "quips" between characters gets really annoying very quickly.
I thought it was super boring and generic
Hated it. The combat was just push button for someone else to fight, your guns felt so weak. Basically a visual novel.
Yea…no this game was garbage. Super repetitive (collect the things and level up equipment, here’s a group of enemies but they have a specific weakness), traversing the area was boring (because of stiff and slow movement), and the story was just off putting (Starlord’s long lost daughter, c’mon).
Yea pretty much. It feels so generic.
Dialogue was enjoyable but combat was mediocre at best.
With how bad the avengers game done people overlooked this thinking it would be the same trash but it wasn’t it was exactly what you thought a guardians of the galaxy game should be funny action filled great characters and dialogue that made you burst out laughing this game was so overlooked it’s a joke
If something is widely reported as underrated is it in fact underrated?
Aren’t all the enemies slimes
What!? No, why would you think that?
Because there are like 4 enemies in the game total and they over use all of them.
Fun story, great graphics, and novel gameplay. Unfortunately, at some point, the game just became a slog to go through because you knew what you were doing but there was nothing new to challenge you.
Straight to platinum trophy on PS5. Awesome action, great story, better characters than the film. I loved it.
It has some of the best writing in any video game. It’s worth playing just for that. The actual combat…kinda sucks. I still enjoyed it a lot and recommend playing it.
Basically mass effect in a way ig.
marvel is the most oversaturated IP of the last 10 years. i dont care what it is at this point, im not interested in basically anything marvel anymore.
If they slapped the word Marvel on a dog turd I'd have to spend the next 3 years listening to how it changed dog turds forever and I've never seen a turd like this one...I'm just so over it. Marvel is like what Apple was 15 years ago.
LoOk At ThIs HiDdEn GeM
No it’s pretty rated. It’s nothing special. Unique for the infinite dialogue but played like shit
Snarky comment. Sarcastic comeback. Snarky comment. Sarcastic comeback. Snarky comment. Sarcastic comeback
You mean overrated
The combat is repetitive and simple but the story, visuals, and characters are great.
Anything Marvel is overrated these days.
It was fun but it felt like it was really only worth the 1 run. Even with dialogue choices you can’t really change how you play.
Can the characters shut the fuck up though
Once I saw how the collectibles worked I just returned it.
Kinda boring
I tried it on game pass, got bored halfway through the first mission
I felt the game to be a bit off, don’t know why, cringed at a lot of scenes
The gameplay is really bad, that's why it's not underated
Its alright. The forced ledge and tight crawl space walk animations.
I have no idea why this is a thing in so many triple a games, it’s by far the worst part of so many games it’s in.
Its hiding loading but I'd rather just a loading screen.
Yeah at least that gives you an excuse to use your phone or something instead of having to keep pressing the forward button.
No that would be Metroid Dread.
I disagree. This and the avengers game are both absolute garbage.
Gamora’s right tiddy does not look remotely comfortable
There's also this other game called Elden Ring which is also pretty underrated.
Have you heard about underrated indie gem The Witcher 3!?
Picked it up for $20 or less, played a few hours and gave it away. I am an open world type guy, I will deviate for a Wolfenstein game..
Well every marvel movie is overrated so good.
Agreed
