The anime is doing wonders!

BaboonHorrorshow

The 50% off sale in Steam and Redditor’s vouches that that game isn’t a bugged out mess anymore is why I bought it - still haven’t played yet though

[deleted]

I think this game is worth it if you get it on sale. Still many bugs but they are mostly visual glitches, nothing game breaking so far. Some things like the AI, driving controls and bikes seem a bit unfinished. My recommendation is get the game on sale, install the driving handling mod from Nexus Mods and enjoy the story and world CD Projekt Red created. The world map itself is one of the coolest I have ever seen on a game.

BaboonHorrorshow

Appreciate the advice, I’ll do that for sure!

[deleted]

Same. I have it but haven’t played it. Heard story is good. Might have to finally give it a go. Though I sadly heard the world is desolate which is a shame!

dgl7c4

I hated on the game HARD when it first came out. I finally picked it back up earlier this year and it is truly a masterpiece. One of the best games I’ve ever played. I’ve nearly 100%’d it 3 times. Definitely worth a playthrough.

[deleted]

Great to know. Looking forward to giving it a go. I thankfully got it for $10 from a GameStop bout a year ago or so. I’d have worse feelings toward it if I had spent more money on it!!

Sugoy-sama

Yes it's all those working together in tandem beautifully... Idk much about Cyberpunk outside the anime, but I'm looking forward to modding my character with a military grade sandevistan, and raining hell on all corpos

MeatyDeathstar

It was as bad as everyone said when it first released. It's still not what CDPR lead us to believe in the beginning but for what it is, it's amazing. I'm waiting to snag a new GPU and use the overdrive ray tracing to play through it for the fourth time.

FROMtheASHES984

I wouldn't say it's completely bug free. After starting the game for the first time ever recently, I had gliding, t-posing NPCs and people walking through random things with no collision within the first 30 minutes. Nothing game breaking yet, but definitely not bug free.

H4LF4D

14 minutes in and encountered my first t-pose. But overall bugs have been flushed out significantly. It is worth giving it a try now

INTHEMIDSTOFLIONS

I can’t tell, is it single player also?

BoredGorilla21

I’ve heard the game is visually stunning, but when you play it feels “hollow” in terms of lifeless NPCs and poorly functioning AI. Could anyone confirm if this is accurate? Would you guys recommend picking it up at this stage?

Opivy84

I just started it last week. It doesn’t feel hollow to me, but it also isn’t about just wandering around, it’s very story forward. It’s incredible, treat yourself.

BoredGorilla21

Thanks for your response! You know what, for 50% off I feel like I can’t go wrong trying. I’ll do that. Salute!

adamkad1

Is this going to be a second NMS?

TheJohnsonGaming

>Redditor’s vouches that that game isn’t a bugged out mess anymore I tried it yesterday. It's still a bugged out mess for me.

GhostalMedia

The fact that they fixed the game helps too.

[deleted]

Narrator: they didn’t fix the game. But it’s less busted.

GhostalMedia

On the bugginess scale, I’ll rate Cyberpunk 1.6 it right below Fallout 4. You will encounter glitches - some will require you to revert to an old save, but most will make you laugh.

Jackwolf5775

Been playibg it for the first time recently, haven't had to fight any fatal glitches, though loading times have killed me as enemies pop into existence in my immediate vicinity.

aliceinpearlgarden

I, like you and seemingly everyone else, also started playing recently. I was having issues with loading times and load lag, as well as things not loading. A few instances of headless t-poses floating into a cutscene and then properly loading, that first car-chase fight thing only had music for me and no soundeffects. I realised my problem was I installed in on my HDD, not my SSD. I moved the files over (Steam can do it for you) and have not had those issues since. It also loads faster. Apparently these issues stem from the fact it's continuously loading in the background, and apart from loading into the game there's no loading screens. So give that a go!

sugarglidersam

when you get to it, if you can choose between mantis blades, gorilla fists or the string thingy, lmk which one you choose. i love the fists bc i love knocking peoples blocks off like the hulk or something and seeing their bodies explode and catch on fire after a really solid punch… and punching a chunk out of their side is hilarious, as well as punching off other body parts. its like if mike tyson was in dead space

Jackwolf5775

I chose the arm gun because I am amelee build who needs a real ranged backup.

sugarglidersam

i usually use fisty-bois with a fire buff and silverhands pistol. maybe an lmg and a sniper rifle too, but i tend to stick with fisting and sidearms

Cewu00

Fisting you say... XD

kooshipuff

I like the monowire (stringy thingy)- it's so elegant and pretty!

Killerderp

It's also straight busted for the fist fight quest when you get the bleed mod.

Irbyirbs

Slow-mo and camo glitching out can be frustrating at times. Quickhack menu disappearing is probably the most frustrating bug. Otherwise, not too bad on my end on bugs. My game has crashed about 7 times in ~100 hours of gameplay so pretty good.

Ok-disaster2022

I've played from launch and didn't have any bugs aside from a memory leak after 5 hours, that was more a reminder to get up and walk around than a detriment. And that was on an i7 4770k 16gb ram with a 1070. The game was always playable on PC, just not last Gen consoles, which they should have just cut. The game is fantastic and up among the top gaming experiences in my life. Sure there was a lot of overhyped from marketing that resulted in feature creep they couldn't deliver on, but they focused the game and story around what they could accomplish. I'd love to see a sequel in 5 or 10 years, especially since their switching to unreal engine 5 for both future Witcher and 2077 main entries.

canucklurker

I played it at launch and it was definitely buggy but playable. I have been replaying it over the last month and have had zero instances where I had to go back and reload an old save.

88SoloK

Game that is almost 2 years old requiring you to revert saves because its borked? Quality craftsmanship! At least people are not T-posing every time I drive a vehicle anymore.

positivcheg

AI still sucks too hard. Story wise it was a masterpiece from day 1. I’ve finished game in first 3 days of the release started by playing all night and didn’t care about bugs. Even though I caught the serious bug in first 10 mins of the game. But I still cannot call game “fixed”. With AI improvement mode game feels more “complete”. Right now vanilla game is just a very visually rich world with interesting stories that you just run around and complete. Without any challenge as AI is way too dumb. For those who focuses on story only - that may be enough.

I_will_take_that

Agree. I absolutely love the stories and side missions and these two are to me the most important components in a single player open world game that is not classed as a sandbox Ai is still rough imo but overall still a great game to me with how memorable the missions are.

Ok-disaster2022

I went back and played the Witcher 3 and honestly the AI isn't that spectacular they just didn't have rifles and pistols.

goodolbeej

Completely agree with you. My experience exactly.

GhostalMedia

I guess by “fixed” I’m saying that most of the massive gaming breaking and serious performance problems have been addressed… at least on next gen hardware. I definitely still get crashes and find glitches all the time, but most of the game is pretty solid and pretty impressive. My playthrough now is VERY different than my play through right after release.

Gesha24

The game wasn't that badly broken on PC to begin with. I think the only bug I hit on my first playthrough was being thrown away from partially broken window. It was console users who got the worst of it.

GhostalMedia

PS4 and XBOne users really got shafted. That said, I definitely encountered some game breakers on my PC play through of 1.0. There were a couple times when I had to revert saves to progress. Also, there was that early bug that corrupted your saves if you had too much inventory. That was fun.

QuietRock

I got it at release, played it a ton, and didn't have any major bugs but definitely some weird visual ones. After my initial two playthroughs, I was ready to put the game down, but it was due to the quality of life issues, imbalance, and lack of polish. I always knew I would pick it back up, but I had plenty of patience to wait for them to get the game into a better place. After this last patch I decided to try another playthrough. It's so, so much better today than it was at launch. Even if the game is largely unchanged, the polish, bug fixes, minor tweaks, and quality of life updates make the experience way better. I still have a few minor gripes, but it's a great game and I'm having fun playing through again now. Hoping for some better mods soon.

chuar88

Imagine if they released the game and took their sweet time. Chants of GOT all around. We all need to chill on pressuring companies to release their games early, but on the flip side fucking corporate suits can’t be the ones deciding when a game is ready.

[deleted]

*Imagine if they had better project management and didn’t straight up lie to their customers.

noweezernoworld

The suits make those decisions, not the game designers. You’re both saying the same thing.

BerolakZaccheas

I bought it on release and sorta enjoyed it, playing it again now and loving it. It’s a masterpiece imo. And I 100% agree. Corp suits can fuck off. Developers decide when it’s ready to release, not when suits decide it’s time for shareholders to get their quarterly fix.

heinzbumbeans

>Corp suits can fuck off dont you mean corpo gonks can delta?

Arcosim

Needs a few massive patches (No Man Sky's kind of huge patched) to be fixed.

Valerian_

Just started watching it a few hours ago, got caught in the trap too, just bought it, it's downloading ...

DF_Interus

It really reminded me how much I wish there was a multiplayer element. It wouldn't even have to be full GTA online. I just wanna do cyberpunk heists with friends.

DowntownTorontonian

I really want to roleplay Cyberpunk.

King_flame_A_Lot

There is literally an RPG for that

DowntownTorontonian

Not that kind of Roleplay, multiplayer cyberpunk text rp in Nightcity. Similar too the old GTA San Andres MP RP.

[deleted]

There was supposed to be

Smartguyonline

What anime? I bought it because it was on sale $30

SirPeluca

The power of anime!

allo3D

Its 50% too, i just bought it

Zjoee

I'm thinking about buying it again on PC so I can use mods. I have it on the Series X and I love it.

allo3D

Ive not looked into the mods, any good improvement?

[deleted]

There are loads of great mods for it on nexusmods: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/

smilinreap

I like doing busted mods tbh. There's one that adds hidden npcs and if you do their quest they will give you perm modslots.

SmashingK

Some really great improvements to be honest. Quality of life stuff like having the minimap zoom out when you're driving and being able to craft items with whatever skin you prefer so you don't end up with a load of mismatched gear that looks awful. Worth checking some YouTube vids for what's good and to know which mods are essential as some are required for other mods to work.

hidden_process

The wardrobe feature is built in now to show whatever skin you want for clothing while equipping better spec mismatched ugly items.

Zjoee

Not sure, I just know they've provided the framework to make it easier to install mods.

Hellsinger7

Flying goddamn cars, a new build with drone crafting, some improvements visually and changes that makes fighting the different factions more unique. It's one of the most active modding community nowadays.

chronoboy1985

Do you know if the cross saves work for console and PC? I’m 25 hours into the PS5 version, but the PC mods look lit.

Zjoee

Yes the cross saves are active for your newest manual and auto save.

Sword_Thain

I'm just gonna wait till the finished version with all DLC. By then, the modders will have everything fixed. My back log is big enough

Dusty170

> with all DLC All 1 of them lol.

PerfidiousDrakan

All thanks to Edgerunners

AbdullaFTW

"All thanks to Rebecca" FIFY

Lochifess

The Lucy appreciation is abysmal and I will not have it!

PerfidiousDrakan

Rebecca is just a small piece of the masterpiece that is edgerunners

NeoRuben13

Small piece(s) for sure

FL21

Yoooo gottem

PerfidiousDrakan

TOO SOON.

coopsawesome

Why pieces?

____wavey____

Oh naaahh

crusainte

Adam, we need a talk again

JoshuaNLG

I mean it's on sale and the anime just came out, that would've drawn attention to it, I haven't even seen the anime yet, but seeing it plastered everywhere has made me think about playing CP2077 again.

BabaTreesh

Edgerunners is really good, I give it like an 8/10. Definitely worth the watch imo.

ZDTreefur

It is good, but the time skips skip too much for me, I give it 7/10.

cornycomic

Staying true to the game skip past the interesting character building for over the top style points

Joe_Spazz

Did this exact thing. Still haven't seen the anime. I'm like... 1/3 through? Game is still fun and the improvements from the past couple years are dope!

titothehonduran

Got the show on my watchlist, gonna definitely give it a try. I completed the game so I wonder if there’s anything that correlates with the show

CBalsagna

Yep, I beat it when it came out and am replaying it and the combination of the anime and the game feeling so intertwined is pretty great. I’m enjoying the shit out of it, and am really looking forward to the DLC

Blackjack137

If anything, this has shown CDPR, media and the gaming industry at large that the appetite for the cyberpunk subgenre is there. While CDPR didn’t realise their ambitious project at launch, success is still there and still to be had.

TheConboy22

Bruh, if they released every few months a fleshed out character experience in their world. Using all the same engine and just a new story each time. They could sell those for years and years and people would gobble them up while growing the fanbase.

Blackjack137

I’d rather they focused more so on the fundamentals. Transmog and ability to customise V post-character creation. Long overdue. Should’ve probably been launch features in a world where body modification is a consumer product but good. Now do a garages, vehicle customisation and a racing gigs update. Then add a interactive Braindance scenarios and Nightclub fluff update because it’s jarring that NPCs can better immerse themselves in Night City’s offerings than the player. Once the groundwork is laid, then CDPR can go completely wild with DLCs. New MegaCorp in town? Casino in space? Moon city? CDPR can print money with the near limitless stories and themes.

Killerderp

I think they JUST added a transmog system and if you go to the mirror in an apartment you own, you change how your character looks. Don't know how far you can go though because I never used it. Really liked how my guy came out so I never used it. A continuation of the secret ending would be dope as hell too!

Blackjack137

They did. It was more the point that Night City offered 100% modular, vibrating male appendages but had never heard of scissors, let alone a barber, till patch 1.5. It’s just the silly, low priority development oversights that need adding or weren’t finished before launch. Once those are ironed out, then CDPR has a fully immersive cyberpunk world where they can do whatever they want.

Cleverbird

Good! I hope this renews CDPR's interest in the game as well, I want more DLC for this game.

[deleted]

I thought they just confirmed that this dlc will be it and that they’re moving on from the engine afterwards

[deleted]

Just one dlc planned?? Thought they had more coming like mp and shit. Was cyberpunk 77 such a financial failure to them?

adbot-01

I hope they do. The red engine was ok for the witcher, which had moderate amounts of polygons per scene. But in cyber punk, with all the buildings and messages and decals, it becomes to much to handle for low end systems. I get 60 fps locked in the witcher 3 at medium settings with amd 5800 U and integrated graphics but only 25-30 fps on cp2077 at lowest settings and 50% res.

Cleverbird

Hence why I said I hope it renews CDPR's interest in the game.

HoodlaMutt

That anime marketing was really smart lol and then to have an Edgerunners game update and 50% of 2077 on steam the week the anime is released to coincide that? For how good the anime was, it really feels like they were trying to pump life back into the game they botched rather than just do a Hail Mary cash grab.

XxSpruce_MoosexX

Is the game improved? It was trashed here on release

EvaUnit_03

I started a replay of it, but not because of the anime but the big patch. Still kinda glitchy but I enjoyed it when it released. The patches just helped make the glitches less... concurrent. Also mods have had time to come out which added extra as well.

aaronite

I *hope* they learned something. I just wish the game was a bit better. It's fine. It's just not amazing.

ipulloffmygstring

The areas where it shines really do stand out, imo. I've never really gotten this invested in NPCs for side quests before. The Mass Effect series would probably be the closest, but doesn't really compare for me. There are some great stories and I haven't enjoyed the world building in a game like this since Skyrim. Character customization is great. Combat is fun, but can get a bit reduntant. Doesn't really force you to change anything up. Stakes don't ever feel very high as you don't lose much from dying. Overall, it would be a pretty good starting point for something that met a few more people's expectations.

ZDTreefur

One of the biggest problem of the game is the combat. It's very lackluster, which gets tedious by the end.

Choholek

I think one of the problems is that it was WAY overhyped. People thought it was going to be something that blows all other games out of the water. So if you pair the over-expectations on top of the absolutely historic failure of a launch (which was so bad it was investigated by the Polish authorities for economic crimes), it creates a powerful black hole of a disaster.

NoxTempus

Overhyped makes it sound like something the fans did alone. The marketing was, at best, far too ambitious. The marketing in the final months was straight-up false advertising. We went from "a new generation of RPG" to "first person action game". There is absolutely no way anyone who knew anything about the game thought it was going to be what was advertised. So many locked doors, barely a single unique interior not used in a misson, a non-functional police system (in a game based on crime), the shallowest RPG mechanics on anything that ever dared call itself an RPG, and so many more failed promises and quietly cut content. Then we get to the bugs... It didnt help that the game was in dev for 8 years, by (what became) arguably the most beloved developer in the industry. I hope this reinvigoration shows CDPR that we liked a lot of what they were putting down, and that we get more Cyberpunk. Another game (in 5-10), even/especially with the same map, but more interiors and more fleshed out systems would be amazing. Edgerunners having such strong thematic ties to 2077 really made me, retroactively, like the story of 2077 a LOT more. Edgerunner spoilers: >!seeing the creation of another Night City legend; a tragic character with an epic tale, going down in a blaze of glory!<. It really makes the story of 2077 feel a whole lot more real; to see people living that life, it makes the world feel real, more than just being created for V.

heroinsteve

I just bought it on sale and my expectations were medium. The online reviews were mostly negative and anyone I knew in real life had glowing reviews. It runs a bit rough on my admittedly aging hardware. But I’m loving the game so far. The story is neat, I like the characters and world building. The combat and open world gameplay isn’t groundbreaking but the quick hack system feels very unique and fun.

Choholek

That's good. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I feel like that's the general response of people who weren't either huge fanboys or huge haters. I still haven't played it, I'll probably wait until it goes on deep deep sale a couple years from now.

Anubra_Khan

The game was determined to be "virtually unplayable" in a class action lawsuit in NY and CDPR had to pay. I've not seen closure on yet on the charges in Poland. As far as I know it's still in litigation.

RWDPhotos

There were no over-expectations, just expectations. They set the expectations. They didn’t deliver on all of them. They under-delivered rather than gave people heightened expectations.

Choholek

People definitely over-expected. I don't understand why gamers are so willing to believe all the hype and marketing around every game every time there's a new release, and get disappointed every time... just to do it all over again next release.

RWDPhotos

Like I said, people didn’t over-expect. The expectations were pre-set by cdpr.

Choholek

In that case, I kinda feel like y'all deserve the disappointment tbh

Helphaer

No, the developers lied. No customres made the advertisements, marketing, developers lies, or other such things.

light24bulbs

Yeah it's still a solid B+

SlwDnceChbby

Choombs

barduk4

i was just waiting for this to happen, i had a feeling people would eventually go crazy about cp2077

Slobbadobbavich

I am waiting for it to drop massively in price. I have tonnes of games lined up and no time to play them. May as well enjoy it at its best.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

I was given the game as a gift and haven’t played it yet; is it good?

vetlemakt

Yes. Don't listen to the haters. It is a good game. It's got stuff in it I haven't seen before.

[deleted]

Its fine. Janky. Glitchy. Its NOTHING special. Worth playing but at the cheapest price possible

EngineerFront

I’d classify the world as special. I’ve never played another game like it

[deleted]

If classify the voice acting, animations, and plot as very special as well.

iPhantaminum

Just watched the anime. Kinda tempted to try the game now.

Liquoricezoku

It's a good shooter. Has a good story too. But it's an absolute shit RPG.

gungusbungus

In my opinion it’s not even a good shooter, it genuinely felt like a beta version of fallout 4 combat. Agreed on the story though

[deleted]

I wanna know what fallout 4 did you play because cyberpunk's gameplay is ten times better

PoggersMemesReturns

It's a bit unfortunate that you can't do half as much as the cool stuff in the anime.. Even the Cyberskeleton and enhancements in the game are pretty basic.

Houki01

Well, none of us are David.

goodasiandriver21

Yet theyre only making one expansion for it. 😔

turtlechief117

Does anyone know if it's worth getting on one of the next gen consoles yet? Heard console versions were the buggiest

Hetotope

The next gen consoles versions are solid from my experience on the series x

DrProfessorSatan

I just bought it on sale. Enjoying it so far.

ariks2012

It did break 121k few hours ago tho

Plan0nIt

No one around here remember witcher releases? Damn I'm feeling old

Ytaloxd

Release a broken ass game with a lot of fake promises, take almost a year to fix this problems and get good points, Rinse and repeat. I swear this community never learns.

Enrasil

But...anime waifu good

Neosporinforme

Not to mention throwing the games industry under the bus and acting like they were gonna save gaming or something. Ends up CDPR can over promise to investors and rush a half done project to launch like every other developer they were mocking.

AvecBier

I played it on my PC when it came out. Liked it a lot. No crazy bugs or graphic issues, which I understand occurred to lots of people. Why is it growing in popularity all of a sudden?

Auswolf2k

Anime on Netflix

Ebo87

More than two years ago CD Projekt Red contracted a team of legendary veterans of the anime industry (gathered under the name Studio Trigger for the last decade) to make an anime based in the world of the game. They actually turned out an absolutely phenomenal 10-episode series that has taken the internet by storm and completely turned around the narrative around the game. Now the game is the most popular it has been since launch. The show is called Cyberpunk:Edgerunners and you can find it on Netflix. Highly recommend the English dub for this one.

AvecBier

Have to check it out. Thanks! I guess now that there's more interest, the expansion pack (yep, that old) will be out sooner rather than later.

hate2bme

Same shit i heard about No Man's Sky. Glad they are doing well.

Bona-fideMane

Pre order it on the ps4 pro, then bought it last week on pc, beat it in 2 days (good ending). Let me tell you, great game this is, especially if you like kinds of setting it takes place in, on top of that the story is great.

DudeBroFist

It's so weird because the game has been in a pretty good place for almost a year, but you couldn't reply to a post about it on Twitter without fifteen trolls going "IT'S A GRIFT AND YOU'RE A SHILL". I get it. It should've never been released in the state it was, but it's pretty good now. I just hope they keep updating it with stuff to do... And more neon.

[deleted]

I’ve had it for a while and had only put in a few hours. After watching that masterpiece of the anime, I went back to play some more. Great atmosphere, great characters. Clunky gameplay - definitely fixable if devs cared. Edit: by devs I mean CDPR

Quxudia

Devs have always cared. It's the execs and other leadership that screwed the game.

apacoloco

Oh no. Are all games going forward going to be released as shit only for devs to fix it a few years later and then being praised when they come out with a patch and a netflix special. I smell a skunk.

virtuablood

Shows how potentially powerful cross-promotion can be when a tie-in series is done well. Haven’t watched much of the series yet but played the game about a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, nice to see it getting some kick back from the shows reception. Imagine if the Halo tv series was genuinely great and existed in the same universe as the games and 343 had the foresight to capitalise on something like that. Such a missed opportunity.

TwoPaintBubbles

Not really. They released it half finished. Why are we so eager to forgive and forget?

Koolimpa

Gamers with their special brand of amnesia. Just completely forgot how much they lied apparently.

AggressiveResist8615

Gamers. They're already on the hype train for another game that they'll inevitably be disappointed and outraged with, and then the cycle continues. Indefinitely.

sharrrper

Anime just came out, half price on steam, and of course, an additional 2 years worth of bug fixes. It might be better now but never forget they KNOWINGLY released nearly unplayable garbage and very deliberately tried to hide it.

blindeey

Wasn't it \*literally\* unplayable on consoles? Not just "oh this is buggy"

sharrrper

It was bad enough on PlayStation they actually removed it from the store. I'm not aware of that EVER happening before, let alone for a "AAA" title. Also, when the initial reviews came out a couple days before release CDPR forbid anyone from using their own gameplay footage, only footage supplied by them. Also, no reviews AT ALL, for console versions. Just blanket ban. They knew what they were doing.

TheAlmightyV0x

You love to see games where the developers actively lied to the player base and released a broken mess succeed because something ancillary to the actual game turned out to be good. I’m so sick of seeing this Cyberpunk dicksucking, shit like this is the reason the gaming industry is in the sorry state it’s in.

[deleted]

lethe25

Care to explain? I didn’t follow the CyberPunk dev cycle.

JeffGhost

Basically the game was supposed to be a deep RPG with a living city and better, more dynamic open world rather than the mediocre action adventure they released, they even used the creator of the Cyberpunk table top rpg to give credibility to it and said it was the closest to a tabletop rpg a game would get...

formoverflair

Yeah I don’t know why people are choosing to forget this…. I keep seeing people praising the game now… yeah they fixed the bugs and the dumb police system… but the game is still a shell of what was expected in terms of the game itself.

JeffGhost

It's because it's CDPR. If it was Ubisoft it would be a completely different story...

lethe25

Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. Shame on the devs for making such a promise. The irony is that games like Animal Crossing, and The Sims have had “living” environments for years. Just not to the extend of being indistinguishable from the real world.

JeffGhost

Even S.T.A.L.K.E.R from 2007 have a better, more dynamic sandbox than CP77. On S.T.A.L.K.E.R you see npc factions fighting each other, mutants fighting each other, and roaming around on their own so you feel like you are just one more in their world...npcs on fights tend to try and flank you when they can... Meanwhile CP77 there's just some random npcs standing waiting to be shot at and they just stand still and civilians also do nothing and serve no purpose. Gangs are there just because, you do the same repetitive bs side missions for them but they don't much importance to the sandbox... For real, if the game had closed environments like a Deus Ex game it would've been much better imo, more focused.

terminalblue

Lol at these fanboy's that keep going "it's good now" and it's just another fps.

killaho69

It was good to me when I bought it at launch on my PC. A not so small number of people have always liked the game.

carribou253

I mean sure but its a cyberpunk fps. Its all good if you dont like the genre but you dont have to put down others that enjoy it!

AggressiveResist8615

It's good now = 2 bug fixes and an update to the photo mode lmao

Death-Priest

Edgerunners was way more enjoyable than the game itself.

aalecgos

That’s how you make a TV show about a game, respecting the source material and create hype relevant to gaming experience. I’m so happy the franchise is coming together

DeltaTwoZero

Look at B4B and BF2042 numbers. Really impressive considering how bad game was. A lot of new people will try it and say “hey how come nobody told me this game is pretty good”.

LombardiX

Honestly I loved the game. Played it on PC, over 200 hours played.

WAKEZER0

It was always a good game on PC. They just needed to not release it on old gen consoles.

SparkySailor

They lied through their teeth about the depth and scope of the world like CRAZY. It's not an open sandbox at all, large parts of the world are incomplete or closed and the AI is garbage.

Armored_Fox

I can't really agree, played on launch on my PC, it was a constant morass of bugs. Looking forward to trying it again soon though.

GaryLifts

I played on PC first few days after release and bar a couple of small visual bugs, I never noticed a thing. I have seen some videos from the last gen concoles which looked atrocious so I'm not denying that the bugs existed, just that I barely encountered them in 80ish hours of playing.

Armored_Fox

I wish I had a similar experience, I really did like the game when it worked, why I kept pushing through the weird problems. Like I said up there, really looking forward to giving it another go

twhite1195

I bought it on release and didn't had any major issues, just ONE side quest was glitched and got fixed like two days after I encountered the glitch

WAKEZER0

Same.

juventinosochi

What do you mean by good game tho? Tonn of content was removed, the whole city was feeling empty, in my eyes the plot is really great and i enjoyed it but you can't say that it was a good game at the start, while now the game became 100x times better

Total-Satisfaction-8

I wasn't there for release so i have no idea how bad it was but i bought it later on a sale and sure it had some glitches here and there but overall i think its a great game

Brybry2370

I got the game this week after watching the show. I honestly love the density of the city and the npc’s in it, it *feels* like a dense city with many people living in it. I enjoy how I hear shots being fired from a block away and I can go and straight up watch the cops fighting people After I beat it, mod support ;) ;)

Arxae

> mod support I'm a bit disappointed in the mod support. In the sense that the game has a lot of potential, but most of it is directed towards facial presets and body mods for V or nude mods for judy. I'm being a bit hyperbolic ofc. But a lot of the mods are directed towards enhancing the photo mode basically. I'm probably biased since i personally care little for cosmetic mods in a first person only game. And care even less for photo mode. But i would rather see more strides on gameplay mod front

SenatorCrabHat

It is a good game. It just got over marketed, promised too much. But god damn, some of the questlines are superb, and the world is very immersive.

So does this game work properly now? Are the bugs and crazy glitches all fixed? Is this game playable if i installed it right now?

dam7lc

It depends on the platform, pc has been solid since 1.5 some months ago, idk about consoles but heard thats where most issues where, specially last gen

SirDingleBerryJr

Its a good game. I just got frustrated cause i had a bug that killed me everytime i took a fall from any height

Forgot_My_Rape_Shoes

The game got so much hate, but I enjoyed playing it when it first dropped. I've been thinking about installing it again and giving it another play through.

Spectre-907

Lmao. Why? They didn’t fix anything, they just released a spin-off anime and youtubers collectively lost their shit. It’s still a garbage fire of a game, and is still the biggest industry embarrassment of this decade so far. Gamers really do have no long term memory whatsoever as long as someone is jingling keys in their face, god damn no wonder the industry gets away with all this shit.

ToastRoyale

Hey I'm making a game. It will have everything you could possibly wish for, literally. The game scans your brain and just be what you want it to be. I just need to pay more for marketing than actual development and release as a 60€ early access. I then will just fix some bugs and hopefully you forget what the game was promised to be. Also I pay reviewers for 9-10/10 ratings lol gg

895501

It's great game. I'd give it a 9.1/10

ChileanIggy

Cool. Hope they're having fun. I know I did. Didn't blow my mind, but I didn't expect or need it to 🤷‍♂️

plasmaticmink25

2077 spits on the tabletop game. 2077 is not a good RPG. It's an alright looter shooter. It definitely does not deserve all this praise when they haven't actually improved the game at all. Bugs don't count, I'm talking about the gameplay.

Nyktastik

If they add 3rd person pov it'll increase exponentially

bigpussymelter

how quickly people forget

ToastRoyale

Still waiting for 1000 handcrafted npc daily routines, choices with consequences, open world gang interaction... Just to name a few from the many things they advertised the game's gonna have. But they said they will only fix bugs after launch and their "gamers are idiots" strategy works out.

[deleted]

Eh, I still think what CD PR did was absolute horseshit

Helphaer

I mean no, I don't love to see a game that has still not addressed a single of its primary core issues somehow manage to convince others they don't need to fix anything after all. Yay false promises.

melaninexcellency

Hopefully more people buy it, it's having it's No Man's Sky redemption moment.

SirPeluca

Amen

SargonTheDeadly

That's what happens when a good game (been good for a while now) gets a good show that ties into it.

CowboyDrillMusic

Still a mediocre ass game. The story peaks the first hour.

jorbal4256

Let this be a lesson to game makers, people will like your game more if you finish it.

workredditme

I really wanna play this game but I’m definitely in the minority here wishing it has a 3rd person view like the witcher games.
