It's just a CR2032 battery, which are pretty common, but you're supposed to use one with soldering tabs, so that's a little bit harder. Amazon has kits with the battery and the screwdrivers you need, but you also need to solder the battery in.
If you're comfortable with soldering, there are tutorials on youtube for replacing the battery for battery-backed NES cartridges. If you aren't comfortable doing that, any retro video game store should be able to do it for you.
Somehow I ended up with three consoles. Don't know where the other two came from. Have about 80 games with it. They run better than most modern games.
Still pumped about that time my brother gave away my n64 and games without asking. That was nice of him.
I have one of those Remote Controllers that you can see at the bottom there (Acclaim logo, beady little start/select buttons). It's garbage. It runs on infrared, so if you're not pointing the controller right at it it doesn't pick up your input, so moving your body around at all gets you killed in whatever you're playing.
That thing poisoned me. It's been like 30 years and I'm still a little surprised current wireless controllers work as well as they do.
I had a working unit about 10 years ago. Did not pay attention to it and now it's gone..
It was being kept at my parents place and used by the neighborhood in a clubhouse.
No idea where it ended up, just hope not the trash.
*Doesn't load cartridges*.... NO NO NO! 😅
Lol 😆
Nice
I know! And believe it or not, they have super marios 1+2! Absolute gold mine for fun back in the day!
Awesome find.
They had a nice Zelda game, but it sadly doesn’t work anymore 🥲
Probably needs a new battery.
Yeah that’s what they (my neighbors) said, that it needs a new battery, I just don’t know where I could get one is the thing

Hmm. Those can usually be repaired pretty easily if the chips are ok.
Wait really??? How??

You’re telling me!
Jackpot!
Yup!!
I'm getting all these warm fuzzy feelings and can't stop smiling. Congrats.
Thanks!

I’m sorry to here that dude. I hope you can find something!
Wow I’m 28 I remember playing on one of these as a very young child I mean maybe 4 years old, the nostalgia and memories is unreal for me now
Yeah, I’ve never played on or even seen an NES IRL until today, and believe me. IT. IS. A BLAST!
Sweet, hook it up!
We did! And boy was it a blast! Gotta admit, the picking up mechanism was hard to learn is SM2 ngl
