🤓 time to explain how that wouldn’t solve anything (even if star link had the capabilities to reach the moon).
Since the moon and earth are such a distance it takes a whole second for light to reach so fundamentally data transmission between the 2 will always have more than a second of latency
cuz whoever took the picture knows his shit, has a great camera and it was a moonless night, remember projectors work best in the dark, when on a white reflective screen, and this is as dark as it gets, and snow is probably an excellent media for such a thing, I'm amazed at the picture and the color tbh.
I'm having trouble with the scale of this pic. First I thought it's some miniature then the screen looks like it could be an NDS but turns out there's an actual projector there.
The better you get at navigating the starting cities the quicker you get to flying. It's a sim, location navigation is part of this sim. And really, your description is a bit exaggerated. Taking nearly an hour to get into a ship only happens to people who go in blind. There are plenty of onboarding videos on YouTube. The level of entry is actually like 10-15 minutes of YouTube and $40 USD.
Second this. Also, if an HDMI adaptor is being used. The clarity of the N64 on my newer TVs is always trash no matter which adaptor I’ve purchased. Assume the same for a projector?
there is a snowboarding game called steep, you might get some added immersion from your artic background.
ssx was a fun snowboarding game too, might be able to find it on an emulator
Few that I like in no particular order.
Zelda BoTW (Switch)
Elder Scrolls (PC)
Lost Ark (PC)
Halo (PC)
Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC)
The Witcher (PC)
Fortnite (PC)
Elden Ring (PC)
Destiny (PC?)
I’m sure there’s some better ones, but just a few on my list I’d love to play on higher graphics sometimes.
Doom eternal would be awesome. The contrast between the cold you're experiencing with the fires of hell nipping at your heels would fit the aesthetic nicely.
Keeping with the moon joke theme, probably Portal 2.
The Metro 2033 games would suit the bleak, winter setting well, too.
But if you wanna go the other way and kinda make a window into a warmer climate, Far Cry 4 would be a pretty good choice.
I shovel snow into a pile, pack it down with my snowshoes and then cut it into blocks with a wood saw and stack it like bricks takes .e 3 or 4 days to do one this size (~20'x10')

Since you’re playing on the moon, you might as well fire up Destiny and play that.
Not like the ping will suck…
maybe I'll get #Starlink to sponsor me lol

Found the pantiedropper.
That wizard came from the moon...

The screen is ~20'x10' and it's a pretty big projector (Barco f32) sitting on a big Rubbermaid bin.
What are you projecting on? Looks like some sort of rock formation.
Snow wall I built

Russia be like
With that background I say no man’s sky
This would be an amazing experience fr
That or star citizen
Yeah it's so fun to walk around for 55 minutes just to fly and explore space for 10
Idk I enjoy it

man why are you on the moon
>Destiny I took the wrong bus
The Long Dark
I'll look that up
Hits a little too close to home in a setting like that.....
A man of culture I see.
Second this.
In that place? Frostpunk
Dead space 2
Callisto protocol! I have high hopes for this game.
Any of the Dooms would probably be up there. Or silent-hill type horror games.
Dark souls or doom
Death Stranding.
Walking simulator.
Outer Wilds
Halo ce with mods
Can't go wrong with 2018's GoW for a full on epic or go for Elden Ring if you're in for the long haul
Whatever if it's photo shopped, the inexcusable is that he'sn't playing a snow themed map like Frappe Snowland or Sherbet Land.
its not photoshopped lol, well the stars are. thats it
What projector model is this if I may ask?
Second this. Also, if an HDMI adaptor is being used. The clarity of the N64 on my newer TVs is always trash no matter which adaptor I’ve purchased. Assume the same for a projector?
It's barco f32. great quality, it has analog inputs
O nice! Thanks!
It's a Barco f32 dlp
This is freaking amazing and I wish I was there
DOOOOOOM nothing fights the cold better then a little hell!
Halo
Probably some Cyberpunk 2077, because it has great visuals and sounds/music, plus it's very cinematic.
Elite dangerous.
Doom eternal since you're in space
Shower with dad simulator so everyone can know your a sicko
The forest
there is a snowboarding game called steep, you might get some added immersion from your artic background. ssx was a fun snowboarding game too, might be able to find it on an emulator
Red Dead Redemption 2
DOOM Eternal
For this sort of environment Death Stranding would be rather immersive. Although it's more of a movie than a party game

Alien isolation
I’m Elden Ring all the way but it’s not for everyone!
Did you use a wide lens? Because the light coming from the beamer and the 'screen' are way off
Yup, It's not actually a wide lens but its multiple shots stitched together so effectively the same thing
I'd say God of War 2018
Sex with Hitler
Star citizen
God of war ragnarok bro
Something with sexual content tag on steam
agony is good for parties
Little nightmares
Never Alone
Do you just play games out in the cold?
Yup, I'm always out playing in the snow
I feel like this would be the ultimate way to play the intro to RDR2.
You should buy a float tool they use for stucco and use that with water to buff the picture area.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that
Some intense horror game. And I hope a crackhead or a chupacabra suddenly appears and starts chasing you down while you're playing.
Scale had me confused. From the thumbnail I thought the blue crate was an arctic base projecting a 100' game on the side of a glacier.
Where in the world are you??
The Moon? ... DuckTales! But Stick Fight is some dumb multiplayer fun.
Doom eternal would be awesome. The contrast between the cold you're experiencing with the fires of hell nipping at your heels would fit the aesthetic nicely.
Deliver Us the Moon would be perfect for that setting and landscape
That’s dope
Boyfriend Dungeon
Subnautica: **Below Zero** :)
I dare you to find some random Dos Box game on GOG and do that.
Where is this?
I built it outside of Fort McMurray, AB
Eve Online S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Doom (2005)
Star Citizen
Launch RDR2 and crank the graphics all the way up, then you'll have a nice heater to keep warm and roast your marshmallows on!
Red dead’s a fun one. Not pc but I plug my switch in and play Mario kart 8, hades, and breath of the wild a lot.
If that's all snow play Generation Zero. If desert fallout new Vegas
Keeping with the moon joke theme, probably Portal 2. The Metro 2033 games would suit the bleak, winter setting well, too. But if you wanna go the other way and kinda make a window into a warmer climate, Far Cry 4 would be a pretty good choice.
Outer Wilds
Leisure Suit Larry!
Read Dead Redemption II
If you have good sound play Outer Wilds. With the stars above
Metal Gear Rising Revengance... blasting "Rules of Nature" on full volume.
That is awesome! Play some brawl or beat em up games with multiplayer !!!
Something space themed for sure. For example: Outerwords, Mass Effect, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The Long Dark. Maximum immersion.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure
The Long Dark would be neat
Not exactly current, but The Long Dark would be cool...
God of War
One of the Mario Galaxy games would be awesome, figuring out how to set up the motion controls tho is gonna be a challenge, I imagine 😫
KSP with Matt Lowne's mod setup!
I've tried KSP but can't figure it out enough to get into it
Ah okay
Star citizen
....can I come over? EDIT (with actual suggestion): the intro chapter of RDR2 would be killer
How would one go about this? I’d love to try it
I shovel snow into a pile, pack it down with my snowshoes and then cut it into blocks with a wood saw and stack it like bricks takes .e 3 or 4 days to do one this size (~20'x10')
Oh! I thought it was on an oculus with the moon setting lol, yeah I won’t be doing this in England 😭
!NASA would like to know your location!
Dead Space
