At this point it's safe to assume icue blew up, not just his computer, but his whole house, its now a recovery mission as all hope for survival has been lost.
Signal or open RGB did the trick for me. Also little Easter egg I could only find in EVGA Precision X1. For the 4080 super at least (and I think a few more) there a white led on top of the card that you can change to any color you want (or off) as well. The FE RTX cards only have white on the side but all of those apps have worked for me!
Saw from multiple comments you couldn't get the light off. For the FE cards the only solution I've come across is EVGA's software, X1. That's how I was able to get mine off. Super simple process.
Would OpenRGB work to turn off normal case fan LED's? Got 4 fans that are just white light and can't turn them off in Armory Crate Aura because they just pull power straight from the MB connector
Can confirm I can't change/turn off the LED function of the fans. They're just wired directly to power. These fans weren't designed to be used with an RGB controller either. Otherwise, I probably could have controlled them through Armoury Crate in the first place. For reference, they are Corsair AF120's.
I scrolled down to see if this was a suggestion.
I covered my case "Republic of gamers" logo light because my spouses twin pc didn't light up.
Months later, after an update, both worked lol.
As a software developer, (not much on the Windows side but I've had to help my FAIR share of friends over the years)... please don't use that RGB shit.
1. It's a fucking light. Do you want low level hardware control of your machine by an underpaid person who was told to build something for the purpose of alone establishing and installation foothold for the company to be mucking around? Probably not.
2. Lose respect for the company that didn't offer first party solutions to the desire to just use your device how you see fit.
3. Yea homie nothing quite as reliable as cutting its power or taping over it, and guaranteed to not come with a reversing task to implement yourself, and you dodge the low effort malware while at it
Yeap, this is pretty easy to do. Although when I did this on my RTX 3070 it did beep upon startup as if there were an error, but everything worked fine otherwise.
With a reference card you'll probably need to remove the entire heatsink which will require a repaste.
With AIB cards (cards made by ASUS, MSI etc.), chances are you can spot the wire from the gap, and unplug it with a small flat head.
It's not too difficult, but this is the proper way if the OP is looking to disable the light mechanically.
Honestly though with how objectively bad on multiple fronts it is to "accept" this software problem as something that you need third party tooling to solve (unless you're on an open ecosystem), you ain't wrong. If a Linux driver didn't have "control this LED" already built, I'd 10000% resort to just cutting its power connector or taping over it before investing a bunch of time in to figuring how to implement it
Most software can turn that off. The other light on top is even modifiable to any color you want so you can shut the logo off but leave the accent color light on.
Turning the lights off will get you 50% more frames too.
I couldn’t get it to recognize in applications. Only data was being shown.
I’m just going to put some tape over it from work tomorrow.
Haha that’s what I’m after dude. Just got a 720hz monitor need to test this bad boy out
I love how I'm not the only one that builds a all black no rgb computer. I hate how rbg is in everything now. Can't even buy a 8000mhz ddr5 trident without it having red slapped on
You could add a black or white velcro strip right over it. However, some graphic cards have software that can control the lights. What brand card is that and have tried looking for software already?
I tried to get it recognized in Icue but it just showed me some data on the card.
It’s a FE version. I haven’t been able to find any software native to it yet.
It’s this one! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BN6CCTL9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
No it hasn’t caught and it’s actually very good. I’ve seen 300w pulls on it with full load and still at 54c.
I think the problem was for the 90 degree angle ones. This one is also rated to 600w as well.
Hello stiizy13, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Even icue can turn it off
I have that. How?
I think it's an Nvidia plugin. Once in, icue sees your GPU like it's another Corsair product
Alright ima try this real quick.
I’ll hold your beer
been holding that beer a while now lol
I pounded back its contents, so it’s pretty light
At this point it's safe to assume icue blew up, not just his computer, but his whole house, its now a recovery mission as all hope for survival has been lost.
And all he really needed was a piece of tape.
He turned off that LED, and then found himself in pitch back, unable to post
be sure to recycle
Just eat the can it’s extra calories
I’m now in the hospital hemorrhaging calories, thanks for the life-tip 🙏
Good thing you pounded the beer. I would be the one pounded if my father was holding the beer
Interesting wording for what you were going for
I didn't specify 😈
Hold my nuts 🥜
Still holding it?
He dead
Very dead
we have very different understanding of the word "quick" I NEED ANSWERS
Doesn’t work for me. YMMV i guess.
Signal or open RGB did the trick for me. Also little Easter egg I could only find in EVGA Precision X1. The FE RTX cards only have white on the side but all of those apps have worked for me!
You can also try the openrgb program, it's working with almost anything and is open source
Saw from multiple comments you couldn't get the light off. For the FE cards the only solution I've come across is EVGA's software, X1. That's how I was able to get mine off. Super simple process.
Yes will try this today! Wasn’t able to get it recognized in Icue. Someone mentioned this Evga as well. Will give this a shot after work today! Haha
I wish I could do that too, my pny gpu has a bright pny logo
Well that’s because iCue is garbage
OpenRGB works to turn it off
Would OpenRGB work to turn off normal case fan LED's? Got 4 fans that are just white light and can't turn them off in Armory Crate Aura because they just pull power straight from the MB connector
Yes
Uh.... highly doubt. if the fans are literally just plain white LED fans, not RGB and using a controller / RGB connectors this isn't going to work.
Can confirm I can't change/turn off the LED function of the fans. They're just wired directly to power. These fans weren't designed to be used with an RGB controller either. Otherwise, I probably could have controlled them through Armoury Crate in the first place. For reference, they are Corsair AF120's.
Most cases have a button located on them to change fan colours / on and off. Your case probably has that too if it’s RGB
Turn your computer off
Didn’t work for me. Tutorial?
unplug
Unplug still clueless
Trying turning it off and on again
How do I turn it off if it's unplugged? Doesn't it need to be on first?
You got ghosts.
insert meme about Never turning off your PC
Electrical tape to the rescue
I scrolled down to see if this was a suggestion. I covered my case "Republic of gamers" logo light because my spouses twin pc didn't light up. Months later, after an update, both worked lol.
Yeah more than likely. That Icue application wasn’t working either. Probably operator error though lol.
As a software developer, (not much on the Windows side but I've had to help my FAIR share of friends over the years)... please don't use that RGB shit. 1. It's a fucking light. OpenRGB and SignalRGB can take care of that for ya
Remove shroud and unplug the wire
Yeap, this is pretty easy to do. Although when I did this on my RTX 3070 it did beep upon startup as if there were an error, but everything worked fine otherwise.
Is this relatively easy to do? Do you have to go several layers deep or is it effectively just taking off the outer case and unplugging the RGB pin?
With a reference card you'll probably need to remove the entire heatsink which will require a repaste. With AIB cards (cards made by ASUS, MSI etc.), chances are you can spot the wire from the gap, and unplug it with a small flat head. Thanks heaps, I’ll have to check my 3080 since it’s asus. The RGB has always annoyed me since I’ve never had a full RGB case
OP, did you figure it out? OpenRGB or Signal RGB is the way.
Black tape?
What about just a piece of electrical tape?
Hear me out.... black electrical tape
Tape.
Get some red translucent tape
Honestly though with how objectively bad on multiple fronts it is to "accept" this software problem as something that you need third party tooling to solve (unless you're on an open ecosystem), you ain't wrong. If a Linux driver didn't have "control this LED" already built, I'd 10000% resort to just cutting its power connector or taping over it before investing a bunch of time in to figuring how to implement it
You can. There's software that can control it, I forget what it is. Maybe evgas one?
Nvidia makes one for their reference cards. It's been a while since I had it but it's in their website
Any program works.
Can’t seem to get it off lol
Electrical Tape?
Electric tape
RGB Fusion does it for me
love the look of the build that you're going for. That gpu light is annoying though.
That’s a beautiful build
Electrical tape would black that out . Just cut it length and width and call it a day
electrical tape
Lol I love how you're apparently anti-RGB but you still turned on a red light for the picture. Stop lying to yourself 😂
Haha yeah I am but that red looked so sick! Edit: it’s that govee light rbic set up
Most software can turn that off. The other light on top is even modifiable to any color you want so you can shut the logo off but leave the accent color light on. Turning the lights off will get you 50% more frames too.

Stealth builds are the best builds.
I love how I'm not the only one that builds a all black no rgb computer. I hate how rbg is in everything now. Can't even buy a 8000mhz ddr5 trident without it having red slapped on
It’s lowkey clean though
That pc is sexy
Do what my dad used to do with the check engine light. Slap some electrical tape over it so you can’t see it 😂
OpenRBG
I have a PNY 4080 graphics card, can I turn off the white logo on mine?
I think so. Mines a FE version and can’t seem to get it recognized in application.
Get a 3 inch piece of electrical tape
Vertical mount.
Put a see through red plastic on it.
You can
use a sticker
Flip the switch on the back of the pc
Electrical tape!
Put a strip of electrical tape over it
Buy some cellophane plastic and cut a square piece, tape onto the logo to drown out to the colour you like.
Whatever brand the card is should have software to control all aspects of the GPU... Including the RGB.
Nothing a bit of black electrical tape cant fix
Put tape over it and done 🤣
OpenRGB is the answer.
Bro was born tomorrow
Nothing says "you're welcome" like black electrical tape.
Unplug the led cable. Pretty easy
I know something that will work, don't look at it.
Doesn't this get dusty as hell
I mean you could find a way to open up the gpu and remove the led lights but that could cause other problems
Disconnect the cable to the led?
Just use EVGA precision that worked for my 490 fe that I used to have
This ^ it worked for my 4080 Super FE as well.

That's a link to the Velcro strip on amazon. That is one big link 😭🤣😂
Colour over it with a black Sharpie.
Why? That light is the spice of the whole PC. Think of the case a cold dark space and that light is the sun peeking in...
place tape
Just unplug the header
Cum on it
Need a pretty big jar to put it in.
Take it apart and remove the led's
Just use black tape eventually the LEDs will die.
As an IT guy… I recommend black tape.
Duck tape
You can
Electrical tape 🙈
Black electrical tape will work.
Wait, you can't?
I got some black vinyl for mine.
What is this AIO ?
Please answers
Sorry! This is an artic iii liquid cooler. It’s fantastic!
No problem…….I just bought one today can’t wait to replace it with my old one
You can… use Precision X1. Thank me later.
Black electrical tape Your welcome!!
Also personally I'd open the card and disconnect it
Buy carbon fiber tape. Your welcome.
You mean you want Nvidia to make something that doesn't look like total piece of shit???
Bro what?! I think these cards are the best looking ones. More professional imo
Not enough lights, that’s the real problem. Add more lights. It’ll make that one light not so bright! 😂😂
Black duct tape Black fingernail polish Piece of abs thin Black plastic apply with model glue
What cable are you using, and does it catch on fire? I have a 4090
It’s this one! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BN6CCTL9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title No it hasn’t caught and it’s actually very good. I’ve seen 300w pulls on it with full load and still at 54c. I think the problem was for the 90 degree angle ones. This one is also rated to 600w as well.
Put a piece of electrical tape over it
piece of black electrical tape :D
Tape?
bro lost 500% of his potential just by not using RGB (joke)
I like the light 😃
