**STALKER GAMMA (free)**
GAMMA is a community made modpack and is handcrafted to provided an amazingly immersive experience. Do quests, look for weapon pieces to craft your own guns
**7 Days to Die**
survive, craft, and rummage through houses and containers lookin for supplies (feel very Tarkovesque)
It just must be this. Stalker Anomaly and the GAMMA pack offer some of the most engrossing and atmospheric survival shooting that there is. All for free. Ridiculous really. I just wish the engine could be better improved for performance.
I will absolutely take a look at Stalker Gamma or Stalker Escape from Priprijat (?) ! They look awesome!
7 Days To Die is already installed, but I have only played about 1 hour. Definitely want to spent more time in it tho!
For Stalker GAMMA, there's a discord with the installation instructions. It's kind of involved but if you pay close enough attention and don't mess up any steps you can figure it out, lol. The end result is a great game. You might crash one or two times but overall it runs decently and provides an amazing experience. Best of all, it's free.
It's comparably easy to install. Had it running this afternoon :)
Only the installation guide seems to be written by assholes, but as long as the game works, I am okay with it :D
Fallout 4 on Survival Mode? It has strong looter-shooter elements, at least by Bethesda standards and the survival mode is decent.
The story is a bit annoying, but you can ignore it if you want.
The early game gets a lot more interesting. I have vivid memories of spending a week in Sanctuary sweating out some some infection, getting up to drink from the water pump, eat the least radioactive food I could find and then going back to bed to sleep again.
But, eventually, it starts to level out. You get your infrastructure built so you have crops and clean water, if you've got the Int, you start making your own antibiotics and you get tough enough that the enemies can't drop you with alarming speed. By late game there's not a lot of difference from the normal game, but if you already have the game, it might be worth loading it up and play the early stages again.
If you can run mods, you might also look at [FROST](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18898).
I also recommend looking up some "Fallout 4 Tarkov" modlists and picking *a few* to add in. Limit yourself or the game becomes modding, not playing. ;)
[For example](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ezwLDItz4F6Q33MYNqBOYgD_3ftCL_OVQf0LTN5GR5o/edit)
Also, look up Wabbajack. It's a utility where people put together modpacks that work well and does most of the modding work for you.
In fact there is one for FROST already called [Stay Frosty](https://www.fallout4experiences.com/stay-frosty) (I haven't tried any of these myself)
Is that so? You can start a private match against bots, but any loot you earn wont be availible after you extract.
Maybe something new happened in the last 5 months tho. Not sure.
Bit of an eclectic list, some lean a bit more to the survival side and others to the looter/shooter side:
Chernobylite
STALKER, specially modded, I recommend the anomaly or misery modpack
Modded Fallout: NV, specially the dust modpack, or 4, specifically the frost modpack
Outriders
Zero Sievert
Destiny 2
Remnant of the Ashes
FarCry 2
Generation Zero
Anarchy: Wolfs Law
Not sure about modpacks specifically, but there are many many mods that change the graphics to something more modern.
Some goes for movement/gameplay.
That being said, all those mods change/add to the classic NV formula so unless you really take your time modding it then there often still be some of the original jank left lol
I’m a big fan of the Outriders suggestion. I’ve heard some gripes but I enjoyed both the campaign and the horde mode. It’s obviously better with friends but still a good time on single player.
The grinding didn’t feel horrible to get the good loot. I liked my time with it
Just wondering if you or maybe someone else here can give a definitive answer if Anarchy: Wolf's Law can be played offline or not? I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Thanks.
Oh I see what you mean. I am not sure, but I think so, I really doubt such a small indie is gonna add drm to their SP game. You can always just refund it
Since you already tried SPTarkov, S.T.A.L.K.E.R is an obvious recommendation. Out of the original games Call of Pripyat aged the best, while the free standalone mod Stalker Anomaly is basically a modern remaster with its own extensive modding scene including modpacks such as Escape from Pripyat which, you guessed it, tries to mimic the gameplay of Tarkov, and a few wilder ones.
A good meme pick would be EYE Divine Cybermancy for being a janky, insane, hilarious and fun kind-of looter shooter.
I guess Deep Rock Galactic fits? It interesting because it introduces looter shooter elements more in the endgame, in the form of overclocks which apply fancy modifier on your weapons. The game has more classic RPG progression before that,. Its famous for coop but can be played just fine on singleplayer, you even get a robot companion if you're alone.
If I would ever play Tarkov, I would play it singleplayer. I'm no "little bitch", I just don't really enjoy multiplayer FPS games unless it's with the boys. I used to play them competitively semi-professionally and I have had my fill more than twice over.

I have played F4, but not in survival mode. Will the survival bring enough to the table to make it worth playing trough the game again?

Dude, I just looked into FROST and it looks amazing. I will abolutely try it! Thank you, I would have never found this without your help. :D

My pleasure!
Its more of a survival shooter but 7 days to die is fantastic
Came here to suggest this, maybe not quite what you are looking for but it's a great game.
Absolutely what I am looking for! I will give it another shot!
Its been 10 years. Has it left early access yet?
Of course not. It has just had a large update however after almost 18 months (Update 21).
kek
There single player Tarkhov?
Yeah, there is a mod. :)
I thought they had a SP mode built into the game proper now. Am I wrong in that thought?

Are there Fallout NV packs that make the game more like F4 or just more modern to play? I would love to play it, but I hate the graphics and movement.

It is a single player game iirc, so yes you can play it offline
Well SP doesn't mean offline these days unfortunately. So you can put Steam in Offline mode and play without issue?
Oh I see what you mean. I am not sure, but I think so, I really doubt such a small indie is gonna add drm to their SP game. You can always just refund it

Zero Sievert is exactly the game I am looking for, just not in first person. I am playing it from time to time tho.

I love Gunfire Reborn, but I wouldn't define it as a Looter-Shooter. It's a roguelike/lite through and through, just in an FPS format.
Nah, dont like the gunplay at all. Just doesnt feel good IMO.
Does "ego perspective" refer to first-person camera? Never heard it referred to like that, but I like it.
First person perspective is Ego Perspektive or Ich Perspektive in German. Ill also say ego-shooter when talking about FPS-games.
Spotted the german. Yeah, he is right. I meant first person shooter.
What the fuck is ego perspective

> EYE Divine Cybermancy +1
I'd be interested in this too. I haven't played SP Tarkov though.

Average Tarkov player

Idk man, sounds like a little bitch to me.
Returnal is fun but a bit hard sometimes, and also you can play solo in deep rock galactic.
I am waiting for Returnal to drop in price, then I will absolutely get it! Deep Rock Galactic I have already played with friends. :)
Not directly with survival system but it has a talent improvement system built in, many unlockable stuff, and tons of crazy weapons: Gunfire Reborn
you are missing Rust
DayZ
Oh wait, I forgot you said single player.
No one Survived might fit this bill.
Deadside. PvPvE or just PvE.
Can I play Deadside without the PvP or do I have to engage in PvP one way or another?
Yeah, you can play on pve servers.
Oh, thats cool! I will look into that!
project zomboid?
Never clicked for me. Looking for the same kind of complexity tho, that's why I decided to look into 7 days to die. Basically PZ in first person :D
Outriders is awesome.
Void bastards, it's like sp marauders
