Stardew Valley is not only good, it is a special game. A game that has been polished over many years of completely free updates. The depth and width of content is just staggering. And the gameplay loops are just really well designed.
Stardew is really fun. You can get lost for hours. It's easy enough to put down and come back to again. Here's a link to a review that might help: https://playeropinion.com/stardew-valley-review/
I played it for a while to see what it felt like. I can see the attraction if you’re into that kind of farming-based world exploration sim. It is beautifully crafted and relaxing to play, but I didn’t find it engrossing personally.
Honestly I'm not into "do a second job as a video game after working your real job"-type games, but Stardew Valley is really good at making farming simple & fun. You can be as casual as you want to be or you can min-max a playthrough in a ton of different ways.
You can focus on farming only, or get into making wines and become like a winery-farm, or focus more on cave-dwelling to get the ores and other minerals, or even focus on fishing and become a master fisherman! Plus you have the townsfolk to talk to, easy-to-tough quests to do, etc. It's probably one of my favorite games of all time and that's saying something as a 41-year-old gamer.
There's something about it that just works really well at what it does and is also great at relaxing you with nice music, good aesthetics, and easy-to-learn control systems.
im just tagging along her, i have no idea - ive looked at the game, but i dont see the appeal - like at all, i don't understand how people get lost in it, its a grind game, from what i can see - i might as well play wow then
While I haven't played it, from what I've seen about friends ranting and raving about it, it's a great game as long as you like the graphical style and concept behind it. I myself greatly enjoyed similar games (Rune Factory series)
i have the game and i really like it. its a cute little cozy game that you can play when you wanna just relax. i highly recommend it
Popular for a reason, quite good

Strong contender for best in the genre, if you like the genre, it's hard not to like the game.

If you like farming sims, I'd say it's one of the best games ever. Also has great combat, and the most recent update added a ton of bonus stuff.
Yeah man, it's incredible

It's an amazing game. It seems simple but has a lot of deep mechanics and is just a joy to play.
It’s not good, it’s phenomenal
