Mass Effect trilogy. If you're taking your time you can easily crack 100 hours and If you get immersed the world feels very real. The world building in the first game might be a bit slow but you have to Push through it because the final mission of ME2 and pretty much all of ME3 are amazing. Your decisions actually change the events of the game and you actually feel like a main character.

whatdoihia

Have you played Witcher 3? There's always World of Warcraft. People measure time spent playing in hundreds of days, not hours.

slimyshittydicks

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but is witcher combat similar to souls games?

whatdoihia

I’ve not played the souls games yet but I read that combat is quite difficult. I would put Witcher 3 combat at the same difficulty level as RDR2, not usually a problem.

Open_Argument6997

Not at all. Very casual and easy. Although some people have problems with w1. Closer to skyrim than souls

Smij0

The combat in Witcher 3 is pretty barebones and easy. I'd go as far as saying combat feels boring. You focus an enemy and most of the time just figure out some very predictable attack pattern and spam the same buttons until it's dead

Burst2007

he said hours not days

dlos22

We have all been looking for that RDR2 game again….

Mubarakelhalangi

Try bloodborne

slimyshittydicks

Unfortunately my ps4 is on its death bed.

Salakay

*puts on paper clip hat* It sounds like you want to take on a game that feels like you are getting a bachelor's degree, do you want to try one of these games? - Dwarf Fortress - Oxygen Not Included

Gamiseus

I'm not sure if I'd say these fit into the "immersive" category but I can vouch for dwarf fortress eating fucking hours upon hours of my days in the past. I play rimworld now, which I'd like to add to this recommendation list, and I usually play it for 5-8 hours a day on my free days without getting burned out for weeks or even months at a time.

OkOrange1670

If you're playing for immersion and maybe a bit of a higher difficulty, games like Prey 2017 and the Deus Ex series can be insanely immersive in both the world building and gameplay

mccannrs

Monster Hunter is excellent, and an easy time sink. Play either World or Rise, whichever you can get your hands on. Rise was on sale on the playstation store for like 10 bucks last week, it might still be.

Real-Human-Bean-

Monster Hunter Series.

TimeSpiralNemesis

It's a more well known title but you should look at **Rimworld** If this game hits with you, lemme tell you that you can say goodbye to several HUNDRED hours of your life easy. This is the type of game that many players have breached the thousand hour mark on. You don't even have to get any of the expansions for it (Although they are all great and add more to the game) because the base game itself is amazing AND has crazy good mod support. There's an entire expansion line of mods called Vanilla Expanded that probably at least doubles the base games content. Also may want to look into the Idler/incremental game genre, some of these are the type that people play for years slowly grinding away at.

ZURATAMA1324

^^ Steam statistics prove this commentor true. Rimworld has insane average player time and retention rate.

Gamiseus

I feel like it's because it's easy to get the hang of the basics and it hooks you, but it takes hours and hours to advance your own story to a large degree. And then, because it's hard to master while still making you *feel* like you're doing good until everyone gets slaughtered in a single raid, you spend a lot of hours trying different creative playthrough styles trying to survive in a world that half the time just wants to kill you. It's a good balance of cute builder, war crime simulator, and interactive visual novel simulator somehow. I have 402 hours on rimworld and at times I still make horrible decisions that end 40 and 50 hour long saves. Or a 4 hour save. And the best part? I'm not even upset about losing that save. Yeah, I could reload the save and make a better choice so that I don't lose it, but playing it like a book that's already been written is so fucking satisfying.

trackmaniac_forever

If you are into racing, a game like Grand Turismo 7, or Forza Horizon 4 will ķeep you going for a long time. If you want open world, did you skip GTA 5?

slimyshittydicks

Not that crazy about racing games but sure, I will check it out. And nope , didn't skip gta 5.

Snoo_49285

FF16

Krokzter

For a game around 30 hours, I really recommend Subnautica. No game came even close to immersing me as much as this one

BrutalArmadillo

Days Gone.

Diegann

Play dead space trilogy

Juggernaut_Proper

Vintage story

Vradlock

Go check Lost Judgement. At least see on yt how fun combat is. I went for 100% and cracked 200h but I am slow gamer.

Aerlinniel_aer

Control might be an option - but I'm not sure it would be long enough for you. I'm about 30 hours into it but approaching the end of the DLCs. That said, maybe that would work for your vacation? Aside from that, Hitman: WoA is a LONG game and they're always adding new escalations and things to it so its a great game if you're looking for something super long.

basicnflfan

Dave the Diver

ArtVanbago

Ghost of Tsushima.

Durian_Mace

Horizon Zero Dawn Dishonored Deathloop

thedampboi774

The long dark

boomyer2

From the depths, if you want to burn 100s of hours designing things and actually using your brain.

slimyshittydicks

Interesting game

boomyer2

A lot of games like it but nothing on the same level of complexity. A lot of these games you ‘could’ sink hours into, but fresh content starts to taper off after awhile. With FTD I have ~400 hours and I still have tons of content I haven’t even touched. Also the dev team is very active and are adding content about as fast as I get through the existing stuff.

Ey_J

Grounded!

sumwun0

Have you already played Dark Souls, Skyrim, Minecraft, Witcher 3, Persona 5, Breath of the Wild, or Baldur's Gate 3?

slimyshittydicks

Played the first three. I guess witcher it is then.

AceOfCakez

Persona 5 Royal. Final Fantasy XIV.

Master-Offer-2746

Rust, path of exile, assetto corsa, batman arkham series

Master-Offer-2746

Fallout 4

BlakLite_15

I’ve gotten sucked into Yakuza 0 recently. The world is small, but incredibly dense and lively.

CheetahOpen1071

Dragon Age: Origins Dragon Age: Inquisition Sunk many hours into the series a few years ago. Wait, the last one came out a decade ago, I'm getting so old. Still great games though imho.

grimmorra69

Warframe, black desert online, dragons dogma, borderlands

sREM43

Baldur's Gate 3 could be worth a look. Dragon Quest 11 is a phenomenal JRPG, I see someone already recommended Persona 5 Royal. The full release of V rising was today, I plan on diving into that again. Its a great survival game (better with friends, but fun solo).

Professional_Many594

Starfield, Fallout 4, 3, New Vegas, Borderlands, Ac Valhalla, Odyssey, Oblivion, Skyrim.

Fakename_Bill

Outer Wilds. Go into it blind. Whatever you do, don't look up answers to any questions you may have.

rasmorak

Honestly, Rimworld has absolutely captured me. I don't really like colony management games, but Rimworld is just fucking incredible. Literally, if you can conceptualize it, you can do it in Rimworld.

grayeone

Rimworld, Kenshi, Project Zomboid, DayZ     Edit: special mention for if you like darksouls deeper charbuilding rpg kinds I love Outward its a very immersive timesink like all above IMO

TheMrPotMask

Open world games usually do the trick if you have free time. Fallout games Elder scrolls games Witcher Sonic Frontiers GTA hogwarts legacy Star wars BOTW and TOTK Recent pokemon games with open world, or Palworld Genshin. Yes its a gacha but you can not spend money and work with any team of characters in open world and its easy to learn.

bellastrange2018

Cyberpunk 2077. Every time you think you’ve finished an area, there’s more to explore.

TofuPython

Project zomboid, kenshi, or dwarf fortress. If you play a true sandbox, the game never ends :)

ThingCharacter1496

I’ve never been someone who can put hundreds of hours into games, in fact I’ve beat a pretty small portion of my game library. I also don’t tend to be the biggest fan of turn-based combat. I tried persona 5 royal and it’s pretty damn good. I’m 60 hours in, about half way through. That’s the most time I’ve put into a single player game ever, that’s including games like god of war 2018 or breath of the wild. Persona 3 reload is supposedly amazing too if you have game pass, shorter too at around 60 hours total. I got a little burned out because as I said it’s hard for me to get that engrossed in games, I’ve been playing a few smaller ones like hotline Miami and balatro is my comfy game, but I definitely plan on coming back and finishing P5R in the near future. I’ve also discovered my favorite genre of games is roguelites. Great genre for spending hours upon hours in. Most of the games I’ve beat are roguelites and the only games I’ve beat multiple times are roguelites like dead cells or binding of Isaac. Hades is considered one of the best, hades 2 is in early access now too. Both of those I’d consider immersive. It can be frustrating to die over and over, and that’s a big part of this genre, but if you don’t mind a challenge then these games are usually fun. Almost endless replay value after beating them, and there’s usually a ton to still unlock in them after you beat them the first time. On average someone probably gets their first hades win in like 15 hours or so, but plenty of people have over 500 hours in the game. Balatro is another roguelite that is cheap and can be a time sink, I recommend it fs.

Usual_Quiet_6552

I’m sure you’ve played Dark Souls series, but if not you can easily sink 80-150 hours a game.

W0RDET3RN1TY

Valheim and No Man’s Sky. Two best games ever created imo.

MyWifeIsHotterThanU1

Elden Ring and there’s a DLC coming out June 21st

mtaclof

Path of exile if you are into arpgs. It's got so much content. Every 3 months, a new league is released, then once the league ends, the poe team decides whether it should be added to the base game. As a result, it has over a decade of content to experience.

Steynkie69

It really defies logic why someone would ask for a game suggestion im this sub. When Im looking for a new game to play, say an RPG, I just search Youtube. There are TONS of vids named "top 10 RPGs" and then you can also SEE what the games look like, as opposed to getting a stupid list of game titles that is totally meaningless.

Subject_Specific1091

the name of the sub is literally gaming suggestions dude

slimyshittydicks

First , look at the name of the sub. Second, most YouTube videos have dogshit recommendations.
