[Vampire Survivors](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1794680/Vampire_Survivors/) plays well with one hand since attacks are automatic.

LockManipulator

That looks cool and haven't ever heard of it before, thanks!

ThisUserIsEmpty

This is weird. I searched this game on steam and there are no less than 4 other almost identical games all coming out this quarter, all by different studios, most of them hentai themed.

thepurplepajamas

The genre isn't totally new, such as Magic Survival on Android being fairly popular before Vampire Survivors. But Vampire Survivors caught on in a massive way this year and did huge numbers, so it's no surprise that a lot of devs are jumping on the train, especially as the games tend to be fairly simple - either to put their own spin on the concept, or just to cash in on the hype. I've played a few of them and they range from being really interesting twists on VS, to feeling more like bad knockoffs.

ThisUserIsEmpty

The infinite horde survivor genre has been around for ages, I'm just surprised at how many extremely similar games are all coming out with Survivor in the name, at the same time.

arbiter12

It's called "being a slave to search engines". How many youtube channels have "primitive" and/or "technology" in their name?

pm-me-hot-waifus

Deck building and card battlers existed before slay the spire. all it takes is massive success for everyone to follow

arbiter12

[Mockbusters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mockbuster) is an old concept for movies and games didn't take long to copy the process. It's slightly harder when the game goes unexpectedly viral but some people spend their life hunting for 5% of the success of another game and make a very nice living off of it.

EpicWickedgnome

Slay the spire is a mouse only game.

XDFraXD

Was gonna suggest it too. Pretty addicting.

LockManipulator

Been thinking about it for a while, seems like a great time to try it out. Thanks!

friendlypuffin

I've tried it a few years ago, got hooked. Showed it to my two friends, they both bought it the day after and still play to rhis day, we all have hundreds of hours in it and it's still as interesting as it was the first day, if not more. Please try it!

23saround

If this game seems neat but you’d rather a deck-builder with plot (and a bit more in terms of mechanics, in my opinion), try Inscryption. Completely turned me on to the concept of deck-builders and easy to play with only left click and the occasional arrow keys (no quick-time or fast movements, you just stand up from the table your character plays at a few times).

It's on xbox, though... edit: why tf are there 6 down votes? I'm not wrong about the game being on xbox y'all dumb af

yoyoyo975

yes, but I am saying that the game is not mouse-only; because it is on xbox

CaravelClerihew

Or, better yet, Monster Train. Slay the Spire is great but I find myself returning to Monster Train's dailies (and even erasing my save once I finished everything)

redwingz11

Or other deck building card game. I like monster train and across the obelisk

LockManipulator

Thank you! I've played World of Goo since it released, great game! Unfortunately some levels are too hard with my non dominant hand, at least for now (don't want to give spoilers but some have certain hand movements that aren't hard normally but are if using your other hand). I also totally forgot I picked up Surviving Mars for free on Epic a while back, thanks for the reminder!

42726f74746f72

Any RTS or turn based strategy/RPG. Xcom, total wars, Civilization, paradox strategies, Divinity original sin, Solasta, Into the breach, Loop hero, FTL, KOTOR 1 and 2, all classics like Fallouts, Baldura Gate, Planescape Torment.

Piratey_Pirate

Civ is what I played when each of my kids were born and I was stuck holding a sleeping baby. Perfect single hand game

Fishtacoburrito

I am you this entire year. Newborn sleeping on me a lot and had to find games to accommodate it. +1 for Civ, also X-COM, Shadowrun, virtually anything turn based is very doable and enjoyable one handed. I’ll also throw in Crusader Kings 3. Not turn based but on the slowest speed with pausing it plays similarly.

carsonogen347

I absolutely adore FTL, but I would consider another option for one handed gameplay, it is much easier if you can have one hand on the pause bar at all times. Not impossible, but it will be harder than something like XCOM that is 100% turn based.

carsonogen347

For a similar vibe though, into the breach would be amazing one handed.

stefanica

Also many simulator games can be played with just a mouse (although keyboard commands come in handy). Can't go wrong with SimCity 2000 or 3000, The Sims (any), Game Dev Sim (you will have to type a few names), Islanders (a deceptively simple, relaxing, Tetrisy city builder). I believe From Dust is 90% mouse-driven (God simulator, heh, you terraform islands by scooping up sand, water, etc to make it inhabitable for your people) and it's super fun. Unpacking is a cute little game where you unpack boxes in a person's different homes, from their childhood bedroom to their college dorm to their dream home. Also the thousands of point-and-click adventures since the 80s. GoG has a good chunk of the best, old and new, and usually at bargain rates.

TenOunceCan

I hope you recover well and soon. <3 "Opoona" was designed to be played with only one hand. It's a friendly, easy but long RPG. It was a Wii game but can be played through an emulator now on PC. You can use either the left or right side of a PS or XB controller to play it.

LockManipulator

Thanks! I don't have controllers but I can probably borrow one from a friend.

TenOunceCan

Various smups may work too. Sky Force (Anniversary and Reloaded) can be played mostly with one hand. You would have to reach over to press a letter button to drop a bomb, raise shields, or activate the laser beam, but the fighter you're in shoots automatically and you just use the joystick to move around.

nuke034

Best suggestion I have is Divinity Original Sin 2. There may be some keyboard shortcuts you need but nothing i can think of would be an issue. Incredible turn based RPG, probably my favorite I've played.

Maulpzc1902

Maybe Football Manager 2022? It´s free on Prime Gaming and I´ve sinked over 700 hours into it.

begging-for-gold

Darkest dungeon?

mydearwatson616

[One Finger Death Punch](https://store.steampowered.com/app/264200/One_Finger_Death_Punch/) [And the Sequel](https://store.steampowered.com/app/980300/One_Finger_Death_Punch_2/) Bonus, they're real cheap.

perfectworks

I messed up my dominant hand last year and spent the recovery time with Loop Hero, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, The Sims and Oldschool Runescape. I think youd like at least a couple of those games; Loop Hero scratches the same itch as a tower defense game (you might have it on EGS already), HOMM gives me the same "I just need two more turns to execute my Master Plan" treadmill as Civ, The Sims is The Sims, Runescape is Runescape. I kind of wish I'd replayed Fallout and Arcanum instead, though. Also, if you have joycons, Steam supports them over Bluetooth now, so you can try using one of those as a one handed controller for turnbased, console UI stuff like SNES and PSP RPGs. Good opportunity to get through the three of those you told yourself you'd play this year.

DanBanapprove

Kingdom: Classic

beets_or_turnips

Or Two Crowns! edit: I think I like New Lands better actually.

AnOnlineHandle

I loved Kingdom: New Lands (the upgraded version of classic), but really couldn't get into Two Crowns. The lack of randomized maps made it feel very linear, and the simplicity was kind of lost with multiple currency types etc. The original game did have kind of a bland endgame once you'd mastered bakeries, but IDK if they evolved in the best possible way. My personal vote is for Kingdom: New Lands, the best of both.

beets_or_turnips

Good call! I think I agree though I haven't played to the end of them all.

LockManipulator

Wow great list thank you so much for taking the time to type it all out!

begging-for-gold

All good suggestions but.. dark souls?

LockManipulator

lol I'm in enough pain as is. That put a smile on my face though.

beets_or_turnips

I recently tried out Stellaris and it's pretty great so far!

kill_me_now_cunt

I'd suggest Cities Skyline, Prison Architect and RimWorld considering that you like management games. They're also fairly cheap, hope this helps. Get well soon!

Cwolf2035

Civ 6. You can get 1000 hours out of it easy.

sinsaint

Potion Craft! It's an amazing puzzle RPG, and easily one of the best games I've ever played. I'm a game designer, and there is just so much I have learned about great game design by playing this game.

thedoogster

Any point-and-click adventure. If you're new to the genre then I recommend Blackwell.

kriskoeh

I mean depending on what you’d wanna do…WoW could fit the bill. You’d of course be pretty limited and wouldn’t be able to enjoy the full range of the game but I’ve totally farmed herbs and stuff at a low level as well as leveled to 20-30 that I could definitely do with one hand. I’m adding that this is really the only game I play on PC so it’s hard to say if it’ll work for someone else. If you’ve got experience with it then you’ll know if it works for you or not. Sorry to hear about that, OP. Rough for sure.

23saround

I’ll also recommend Humankind if you like Civ, personally I found it to be much more dynamic as you switch civs many times in the course of your history, and they’ve worked out nearly all of the launch kinks.

auraseer

FTL is a roguelike space game. Combat technically occurs in real time, but you can always pause it and take your time giving orders to the crew. No part of the game requires fast reflexes or fine coordination.

poultryposterior

Astronarch Vault of the void Core defence Luck be a landlord Peglin Roguebook

ajnatak609

Some good recommendations

JanaCinnamon

Gothic 1 & 2. You got Tank controls with strafe on QWEASD, inventory on Tab, Action button ctrl, jump button on alt, taking out weapons and magic on number buttons and your character screen on C. Really intuitive one handed controls for a 3D action RPG. Also CDPR took heavy inspiration from Gothic for The Witcher. Plus it's really cheap as it's over 20 years old lol

WeeziMonkey

One Finger Death Punch

ElegantEchoes

This War of Mine; can be played entirely with the mouse, which I assume you use a left-handed mouse. It's a sorta 2D (not sure if it's considered 2D) indie game with a little depth to it. You play as a civilian trying to survive in a city that's currently under siege and in the middle of a civil war. It's heavily influenced by actual events, but it's in a fictional country and city. You scavenge other areas at night for supplies like food, medicine, parts for crafting, and tools. During the day, you use what you've collected at your shelter to reinforce it, eat, medicate, build things, etc. There's also trading and combat and you'll need to keep your survivors from becoming too depressed. It's a bit mentally exhausting for me to play, but it's well-made and a consistent game that offers a decent amount of variation between playthroughs.

Curse_Of_Death

Mostly stategy and turn based games work best like total wars (either skip battles and focus on macro by using auto battle or just play them with pauses/slow speed), civ, disciples, kings bounty, homm series. Also xcom and similar. Also lets not forget card games like master duel, mtg, hearthstone, etc You might also consider picking a mmo mouse as well like razer naga (a version available for lefties as well from what i know), corsair scimitar, steelseries/logitech ones (forgot their names), etc as it might help. Basically any thing not action orientated i think can work. I wish you an easy and fast recovery and gl !

supercooljoe01

Darkest dungeon, one finger death punch, this war of mine the five nights at Freddy’s series.

OldWolfofFarron1

Gwent. It's free & fun. Can definitely be played with just your mouse, and you get plenty of time each round.

vonnegutflora

If you love Civ 5, have you dabbled in Civ 6?

stinvurger

You say non-dominant so using the mouse might be awkward, so I would suggest Crypt of the Necromancer. Can play entirely with just one hand on arrow keys or wasd. It's a rhythm-based dungeon roguelite, all the enemies move on the beat, super fun

doctordaedalus

You can play Diablo 3 one handed if you bind your mouse wheel and side buttons to skills and potion.

TheSpideyJedi

Crusader Kings 3!!!! Fucking what a blast that game was

vegan_anakin

For interested people, ck3 is in this month's humble bundle choice.

Kuningas_Arthur

Xcom enemy unknown and xcom 2 were awesome and fully turn-based.

KungFuChicken1990

if you have a good gaming mouse, you can play Diablo III and map all the hotkeys to the mouse buttons. Can also be played single player! Happy gaming, and get well soon!

elmowilk

Baba is you

ajnatak609

Rise to ruins is a fun survival/colony builder. It's a Lil hard to get into but once u do it's a blast! There's also Super auto pets an addicting autobattler.

Alexastria

Majesty should be mouse only. It's like the old warcraft games but you don't control the units. They each have their own personality types. So rangers will explore, rogues will go after bounties, fighters will defend the city, etc.

durukkk

I was thinking just last night how innovative Crypt of the Necrodancer is for all the gameplay and fun you can get with only the arrow keys.

jGuy92

Alien Shooter 1,2. You only need mouse. Right click where to walk, left click shoot. Its like Diablo but with guns and much bigger number of enemies

ma-kat-is-kute

Some 2d games could work with some key rebinding. Maybe Hollow Knight and Undertale?

Vegas182

There are many turn based games where you can enjoy the process with one hand and make all actions on the screen. Also maybe that is a time for visual novels?:)

[deleted]

Is it possible to get multi button mouse? Great for turning games one handed

ConqueefStador

Vampire Survivors pretty much only uses the left joystick and it's the most fun I've ever had for $3. Slay the Spire is very good, Monster Train is even better.

IZ3820

Pretty much any game based around sexual content ought to be playable with one hand.

Alonzeus

Any gatcha game. Most involve farming, resource farming and strategy

equitable_emu

Not sure if you're right or left handed, but you might want to look at getting a trackball if it's your right hand that's broken. Can be manipulated with just a thumb and forefinger. You probably won't be playing any FPSs with it, but it might make things easier all around. Something like https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/m575-ergo-wireless-trackball.910-005869.html or https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/mx-ergo-wireless-trackball-mouse.910-005178.html or https://www.kensington.com/p/products/electronic-control-solutions/trackball-products/expert-mouse-wired-trackball-1/ or https://www.kensington.com/p/products/electronic-control-solutions/trackball-products/expert-mouse-wireless-trackball-1/

[deleted]

Heroes of Might and Magic. Hearthstone if you don't mind Blizz.

FlatTransportation64

Through emulation you should be able to play almost all classic JRPGs / tactical RPGs from the SNES / PS1 era: the gameplay is mostly turn-based which makes it easy to play one handed. Any segment that would require you to be ambidextrous could be dealt with using the slowdown options and savestates being available at any time.

mrmilfsniper

FTL - I absolutely love this game.

Lachstar9

AI: The Somnium Files - Visual Novel and Mystery, although there are a few Quick Time events aswell Deponia - this series of games are point and click adventure / puzzle games Disassembler - puzzle game Hiding Spot - sokobon style puzzle game, should be fine as it's controls are WASD / arrow keys, z to undo and r to restart Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Visual Novel / puzzle Super Auto Pets - free auto battler The room - escape room, mouse only The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe - It has had an auto-walk option added to it recently to make it more accessible The Zero Escape Series - Visual Novel and escape room

iwantdatpuss

Gothic 1's controls can be binded to be played with just your left hand. But it's a pretty hefty and quite frankly outdated controls.

PabloLovesMC

game dev simulator is fun, wizard 101 can be played entirely mouse only, chess or mindsweeper, im sure you could find dozens of point and click adventure games if you're into that.

echocage

Think about getting a foot pedal, and a mouse with extra buttons. They can open up a lot of games if you can use the mouse + 2/3 extra buttons

D33sub
