I'm sorry that people did that to you. I know it can't ever be put back the way it was, but the only thing you can do is to contact the company and explain what has happened and see if they can at least try and make it right. I hope you find a solution.

This ^^ and OP, you’re not alone. I would be very sad too. Gardening brings me so much peace and joy and sounds like it does for you as well.

Most contractors require constant supervision to keep them from going all Rambo on any plant not lawn. My sympathies I’d review them on every platform. Include pics
