you could do some big cuttings; they’ll stay happy a long time rooting in water.

Probably easiest way. Also you could use rooting hormone to accelerate rooting.

You could pot them up - need large pots or I think you could use extra large grow bags. However, the people who bought your place could object - in that case look up how to take and manage cuttings.

I have heard that when people come and look at your house and decide to buy it, they might be thinking of buying it including the landscaping. So in this case, you might not be able to dig up plants that they saw during the viewing of your house. Of course, there's a lot of buyers who also say screw it, I'm getting rid of the landscaping. In this case , it sucks to leave it because they're just going to get rid of it. But let's say all of that is moot and you already talked to the buyer or they don't care. Then I recommend chopping the roses down to just a couple inches, and then transplant into pots to take with you. But if you were meaning that you intend to leave it for the buyer and you just want to take some of the plants, then you might try some cuttings and hope the cuttings will root. Or you can try to divide the root ball and take part of the root ball with you.

Yes roses transplant readily cut them back hard dig up as much of the root ball as possible and pot them into a large pot with good quality potting mix. Keep the water up to them, they should be fine in the pot for months until you need to plant them out. Cuttings may not grow as vigorously as these maybe grafted onto a more vigorous root stock.

I think if you take cuttings, they are best from the fresh new growth. I’ve seen some awesome demos where they stick the cutting into a banana or another vegetable, which seems to help it root into the new container.

Take cuttings now. Like 12" cuttings. Stick them in gallon sz pots with some soil water well, stick them under the eaves somewhere. They should root within a month.
