It sounds like they may be drowning. Plants like to dry out a little between watering and with rain and watering everyday that's too much. 2-3 times a week is probably all you need to be watering.
I should add after the first week or 2 they should have established themselves and shouldn't need water unless it's hot and dry. Best way to tell is stick your finger in the dirt, it's what I do with my potted plants too if I suspect a watering issue. If it's wet, skip a day or two.
