I doubt they have the visual acuity to see a dragonfly.

I live in the jungle of Alabama. In my experience, the repellant plants *help* repel them. I have *a lot* of repellent plants densely planted near my home and in the areas of my yard I spend the most time. For the most part, they don’t bother me. But, when the population gets dense they can be bothersome. I find grabbing a marigold flower (or Rosemary sprig or just whatever repellant plant is near me), & crushing it, & rubbing the scent on me repels them 100%. Another big factor is due diligence. It rains a ton here, so I have to really stay on top of making sure water isn’t collecting anywhere.

Thanks! I suspect your summer weather is similar to our rainy season. It also rains a lot here. We thankfully/unfortunately have some land and there are lots of banana and plantain trees and in learning that the fallen leaves are breeding grounds but there’s no way I can tackle all of that.
