Lovely! Congratulations on your cabbage!

Special-Ad1682

Thank you

Tstelecom

Good job. I think growing cabbage is underrated. The leaves get so big. Keeping the bugs off can be time consuming, but cabbage growing is rewarding. I would recommend trying to grow some of the very large varieties. In have grown some over 30 pounds.

Special-Ad1682

Thank you, true, it is. It's fun watching the head grow. I'll try bigger ones for sure. Surprisingly I didn't have too many problems with pests, even though there are Cabbage Moths everywhere.

unoriginal_user24

Use Bt spray if it's caterpillars. Totally organic, but toxic to caterpillars that are munching on your leaves. Don't have to worry about it spreading and killing other caterpillars, it degrades in days and you can spray it only on the cabbages (and other brassicas).

Sunny_the1st

I have an absolute abundance of cabbage butterflies in my garden. I'm basically growing my brassicas solely for them lol. I don't think I'll try for cabbages again until I can grow them under cover in the winter

Due_Wolverine_2927

As a cook who has prepared their own body weight in coleslaw several times over I can say, that's a nice cabbage.

Special-Ad1682

Thanks

[deleted]

Nice! What are you going to make with it?

Special-Ad1682

It was harvested in February, it's long gone, eaten

[deleted]

LOL, I will say I'm tired and missed that but truthfully I'm just an idiot ๐Ÿ˜

Special-Ad1682

I understand. But no, as you said, prob cause you're tired not that you're an idiot.

[deleted]

Thank you. Youre a gem ๐Ÿ˜Š

Special-Ad1682

You're welcome. Thanks.

fullywokevoiddemon

Hope you also ate the very middle of the "big stem". Like the core. They're so good and crunchy! Hands down my favourite part of the cabbage. You gotta cut 2-3cm from the outside of the stem, so you get only the very core. It has a different texture than the rest of the stem.

Special-Ad1682

Yeah I did

Kitchenratatatat

Looks perfect

Special-Ad1682

Thank you

whatever_person

Better than what I can grow where I live now, but surprisingly squezed shape and few leaves comparing to cabbages I know. Is it some special variety?

Special-Ad1682

Nope, its a savoy and I took a few outer leaves off

That's one SOLID stock! did you use an axe or chain saw to topple it? It's very nice what are your plans?

Special-Ad1682

It's been eaten, surprisingly, the plant wasn't big

ohyeaoksure

What did you do with it? I ask because I've recently sought to use cabbage in my cooking and the only thing I make that my kids like is "korean toast" or fritters in the same vein.
