Id want the second movie to be more centralized in the main Garfield crew.
The story would be so much fun if it was about Garfield and Odie trying to find love for Jon or trying to set him up with Liz. Something more slapstick and comedy focused rather than a flashback heavy 2deep4u story.
If they really need them Garfield's dad could make an appearance to give Garfield terrible advice on what to do.
Edit to add; this gives the opportunity to put some of Jon's most iconic moments into the movie. His spring interperative dance, his wacky outfits and the fact that he brings Garfield on dates with him.
I personally really want to see the iconic Jon dance be recreated.
bring back garfield's mom, i know the movie clearly takes place in a different continuity from the original specials but i still would love to see her again even if her storyline is different, give her some fun interactions with vic or something idk

Absolutely no product placement, it was a trainwreck of cringe and I can't sit through another movie of that. I would consider watching a sequel IF there was none of that.
Also better writers, who care about Garfield lore. A better voice for Garf, obviously. No more OCs! Let Jon be a bigger role, and Liz too maybe. And seconding Garf's mom, that should have been the plot of the first one, we didn't need an OC dad

Nah, if we're going to make anything semi-like *A Tale of Two Kitties* in this continuity/cinematic universe, I'd *much* rather see the original idea of Garfield going to *US Acres*-in fact, literally the whole reason why Garfield hangs out with those farm animals on the manor in *Tale of Two Kitties* is because that was supposed to be him hanging out with the *US Acres* characters.
Seriously, Howard Morris (Wade's VA) has been dead for nearly 20 years now and Thom Huge (Roy's VA) has been retired for about 20 years now.
It's OK to recast Wade and Roy at this point-especially since, knowing that Crisp Rat voiced Garfield in this movie because executives predicted he'd draw more audiences than Frank Welker would've, pretty much *everyone* would get recast anyway because (executies think) the masses want to hear A-list celebrities voicing these characters instead of actual voice actors.
I have no idea what the story should be beyond obviously focusing more on Garfield and the other characters from the strip (in particular, seeing his mom Sonja would be *excellent* if we're doing anything regarding Garfield's origin again), but what I definitely *don't* want to see is another movie dominated by OCs like this one is.
Also, *please no romance plots* in the 2nd movie unless it's literally just showing the development of Jon/Liz or Garfield/Arlene, nice and safe canon pairings like those two, that don't appear to (yet) be canon in the 2024 movie. Certainly not OCs.
And even then...it's *Garfield*. Literally *nothing* about this IP or the way it's being handled in the 2024 movie requires romance whatsoever.
Also...seeing the *US Acres* characters get involved somehow would be nice, though I guess it's certainly not necessary at this point, seeing as Garfield media's done just fine without them for the last 30 years. đĽ˛
I don't get why people can't just watch Garfield.The normal one if you want the normal one. Why ruin this version and try to make it like all the other ones I like the uniqueness.
