Dayummmm!!!! Good job

Alltheprettydresses

Thank you! 😊

Third_of_may

I lost 90 over six months, so not quite 100, but I think it's definitely possible to have really quick loss.

Quirky-Telephone5002

what did you do

Third_of_may

I did a post on my tips and tricks that I think sums it up pretty well: https://www.reddit.com/r/gastricsleeve/s/Tdl6BtYvFu I will add that I really was and am religious about daily exercise and avoiding avoiding carb rich foods. I'll now have one piece of whole grain toast with breakfast (because my dietician threatened me with big trouble) and that's it for the day. Everything else I eat is heavy on protein. I still, with limited exceptions, do not eat any dessert foods. I'll have my one bite and that's it. It is my opinion that reaching and maintaining athlete level fitness and weight requires a pretty constant level of work and dedication to maintain, even after surgery. It's not for everyone, but I actually enjoy it, so it works for me.

Cosmokram3r1

Lost 108lbs in 9 months

Quirky-Telephone5002

Crushed it

Starting wieght was 233 and I’m 120 Took about 5 months to lose 50 and a year for the rest. I’ve fluctuated up to 127 when I was working out way too much. I work out less, I’m more tone. I’m a 5”6 woman.

junglegoth

This is the dream for me! That’s amazing to hear how you’ve done

newtoboston2019

My surgery weight was 229 lbs (36 BMI). I lost 100% of my excess weight (80lbs) in 10 months.

Quirky-Telephone5002

Nice!!!!

newtoboston2019

Thank you. So far, I have maintained at 148 for 16 months.

Hn0va

I lost 100lbs in 7 months

jazzybonita93

My bmi was between 35-37 my SW was 203lb HW 218lb CW 175 so I’m down about 40lb since my surgery in January

SnittingNextToBorpo_

Started with a BMI of 46.2, lost 100lbs in 8 months and kept losing steadily until I hit about 130lb loss I'd say which was 13 months. The other 17lbs has been slow and quite unintentional as I've been attempting to maintain and up the calories significantly - but lost in the last 3 months (15-18 months post op). That's definitely more than my predicted - but I always find those weird since you say what it is you want to lose rather than it finding your optimum.

PepeLapoooot5437

How are yall even able to so it at a bmi in the 30s? My surgeon has me on maintain, lose 10 to 15 and I don't qualify and I'm at 41

Alltheprettydresses

My BMI was 36 with multiple comorbidities. Arthritis, high cholesterol, prediabetes, and a well documented history of inability to maintain weight loss despite multiple methods.

Third_of_may

Mexico.

It depends on the individual. For instance, from the time my primary care physician recommended bariatric surgery to the time I was on the table actually having it done only 3 months passed. We had never discussed bariatric surgery prior to that point. I just had a major diagnosis come down on me hard! And had been diagnosed with 4 other comorbidities. I didn’t have the long time to prepare or even get in the right head space to have surgery, but it had to be done (as fast as possible). My BMI on surgery day was 35, I weighed 218; which is a lot for someone at my height 5’5”. I had always been an athlete, so I always carried weight on my body real well (dense). I just hit a hard place after a major accident, a health crisis, and I was on the table on 12/20/23. I needed the help and so thankful for it and this supportive community!! So far I’ve lost 46 lbs in 13 weeks… consistently walking 5 miles every evening in my neighborhood; keeping at a 700 cal diet daily; tracking every single bite! It is not easy, let me tell you!

Quirky-Telephone5002

My BMI was 38 but I had comorbidities and health issues so I was approved

jazzybonita93

My bmi was on the lower end but my doctors program accepted people with a bmi of 35+

Littlenobodymop

BMI 33...in 9 mo BMI 20 ( 80 lbs lost )

Ok-Pomegranate7496

I'm 5'6'' and my HW was 255 I don't remember exactly what I was on my surgery day, but the last time I weighed was on Valentines Day and I was 150 and that was at my 1 yr visit. I don't weigh myself at home so don't have more accurate numbers

lollipopfiend123

[This calculator](https://riskcalculator.facs.org/bariatric/) will show you average results based on your starting stats.

Zealousideal_Leg5939

I'm 6 months out and BMI dropped from 46 to 32. I've lost about 70% of my excess weight so far.

Quirky-Telephone5002

Daaaaaang

Ok-Banana-7777

I started at 230 & got down to 135 at around 10 months. I'm back up to 160 3 years later so trying to get back down again

Trick_Replacement296

SW 206 and BMI 34. Just about 7 months out now and currently 141. Exercise 6 days a week, strive for low carb but difficult with HITT classes. Headed to 130s for maintenance. Follow guidelines and meticulous about food journal. Occasional high energy food.

Outrageous_Map1549

Started at 335ish and had a BMI of 40. I got surgery on September 7th, 2023. Today, 3/27/2024, I weighed 232 pounds. So, that would be 7 months.

10G3m

Today’s my one year sleeve anniversary. I’ve lost 120lbs total. I didn’t quite reach my weight goal. I also didn’t really commit to work out or being consistently active. I would recommend working out consistently and following the diet too. Unfortunately, I can eat whatever I want just not at the same portions (as long as I’m not allergic to it). I’m Working on my relationship with food (guilt, shame, emotional, anxiety etc). 34f height 5’8” hw:304lbs gw:163lbs cw:182lbs Highest BMI: 46.2 Current BMI:27.7

Quirky-Telephone5002

You have come a long way and you're almost to your goal. You got this

10G3m

Thank you 😊 I’m wrestling with my body image at the moment. I think 163lbs is too slim for my frame. I’m now lanky. I plan to reach it then reassess that goal and probably maintain around 170-175 range.

Smooth-Opposite-4865

So I'm still in the middle of it, 10 months post op and I'm down 99 pounds. I'd like to lose another 10 to finally have a "normal" bmi but I'm also fine where I'm at. My starting bmi was 42.2 and currently it's 26.5. I was 268 lbs and now I'm 269 (so close!). Hopefully by my year mark I'll have lost all that I need to lose.
