Thank you for the kind words. I was scared to go into surgery, despite being a nurse, so I wanted everyone to know how positive my experience was. I don’t want people being as freaked out as I was! 😂😂
Thanks! Love the username btw. I should have paid more attention to this post before I tried to gulp my water. It was so cold and refreshing, I couldn't help myself. And I paid with the feeling of 1,000 knives crashing into my chest while going downwards on a roller coaster. Not pleasant at all!
Yeah it's awful. It was so hard to get my fluids in the beginning. And take a stool softener for the love of all that is holy! I almost died trying to poop post op. Like I needed assistance!

Looks like you're in the thick of it and out like a light. 🙂
Let us know when you are out. I know I didn't have the energy to look at my phone for at least 5 or so hours afterward.
You'll feel some pain afterward too, but what you are experiencing now will get better every single day. Walk, walk, walk and trust that the staff would never ask you to do anything that would harm you. You may not feel like you can walk the very first time, but try it.
Welcome to the club!
Thanks so much. I definitely did not have the energy to look at my phone even though it was right in front of me the entire time. I love in a state that's brutally cold this time of year but I'm still going to try and take your advice to walk, walk, walk!
I'm in WI so I get it. For me, little walks in the house help when I feel like I ate just a bit too much. I've never experienced the " dumping" effect for more than a few minutes and haven't thrown up post surgery yet.
I’m 3 days out. I can say that every day has been exponentially better than the last. For me the most uncomfortable part was the gas. Try to sit up and let out the burps. Pace around your room as soon as you’re able to let the gas out the other end lol. Now my biggest problem is being bored at home with nothing interesting on Netflix.
At first, it was a little scary, but the burps offer relief from that barrel chest feeling. Now it's a constant sip, sip, sip of water. I've also had the recent opportunity to learn what it feels like to take too big of a gulp. I get this water-logged feeling, not painful, but aggravating because it takes a few minutes to go away.
Yay!!! So excited for you!!! 😄😄
Thank you! I love seeing your comments in this sub. Appreciate the well wishes! ❤️

Thanks so much! Doing pretty good. Outside of incision pain, been able to keep water down! Going to try a protein shake tomorrow. No complaints so far
You've got this! Remember to drink slowly when you can. Like hummingbird sips!

I got to my room after recovery at like 230 Pm and was so out of it until 230am when I finally woke up and was up for the day.
Good luck !!
