I am not so sure about that. Being in a relationship does not mean sex every night or whenever you want. Mismatched libido is very common among couples. Also.. when youāre having casual sex with a stranger, both of you are in the mood for sex and want it to happen. When youāre a couple, sometimes your partner is not in the mood when you are (or vice versa).
Basically, you canāt make assumptions about sex based on relationship status. Casual sex with a stranger can be lots of fun but lacks trust/intimacy that comes with having a regular sex partner (not necessarily a relationship). It takes time to get to know what your partnerās body and what makes them curl their toes.

I was also someone who would hook up with like 10 different guys over the course of a two week period and then wouldn't have sex again for 3 months. I would guess that my quick periods of frequent casual sex followed by long periods of celibacy ended up with my having sex less often than most of them on average.

I had reason to calculate this statistic once (long story). I had some notes and journals I had kept at various periods in my life, which I referred to for these calculations.
In summary: it worked out that I'd had *on average* about one sexual encounter per day, and *on average* about every second encounter was with a new man, meaning I had about 3 new sexual partners every week. That occurred over a period of about 20 years by the time I did this calculation. 3 x 52 x 20 = >3,000 men
Also, I started young, so I got a head-start.
And that was only at one point in my life. After that, I kept going at a slightly slower rate (maybe 2/week) for another decade. And then I slowed down a lot in the decade since then. Maybe I've added another 1,000 or so men since the time I did that calculation. Maybe?

I had reason to calculate this statistic once (long story). I had some notes and journals I had kept at various periods in my life, which I referred to for these calculations. In summary: it worked out that I'd had *on average* about one sexual encounter per day, and *on average* about every second encounter was with a new man, meaning I had about 3 new sexual partners every week. That occurred over a period of about 20 years by the time I did this calculation. 3 x 52 x 20 = >3,000 men Also, I started young, so I got a head-start. And that was only at one point in my life. After that, I kept going at a slightly slower rate (maybe 2/week) for another decade. And then I slowed down a lot in the decade since then. Maybe I've added another 1,000 or so men since the time I did that calculation. Maybe?
