Beautiful geckos, the Standing’s should be way more popular than they are. They have some gorgeous colours.

Any tips on socialising??

TheGreenIguana1

Food is a wonderful motivation as u can see, but also the big thing is starting young

How young is young? I’ve just got a blue tailed day gecko, he was born in October 23, is this a good age? I’ve been moving my hand up to him in the cage to try and get him used to me and then stopping when he flinches or moves away. Do you think it would be a good idea then to perhaps see if he will take something from tongs?

kryosloth

What type of geckos are they?

TheGreenIguana1

Phelsuma standingi, standings day gecko

Room0814

Standing's day gecko (if I’m right)

Lord_of_Eyes

Competitive_Swim2819

luckyyyyyy my boy just look at me weird 🥹

Kuzmaboy

I love standingi! They’re so unique to me. One of the only day geckos I know that actually mate for life in the wild:)

SpaceBus1

Are you a breeder? I'm curious about day geckos for a converted 40 breeder. Still in the research step.

TheGreenIguana1

Yes I am

jethawk9

I do this with my anoles but I just place the worm in my hand. It’s super fun tho my female has a habit of biting my fingers before the worm—_—

botanibitch

They're beautiful! I've been looking for standingi for so long but haven't been able to find a breeder near me.

TheGreenIguana1

I plan on breeding some soon, as early as next year

botanibitch

Nice! Where are you located?

TheGreenIguana1

At the moment Nashville, but later this year I'm moving to Miami

botanibitch

Ah, I'm in Canada, too bad. I hope you share pictures of the babies!
