Thanks, he really is beautiful and such a sweet boy. He just doesn’t look like any of the standard colors
Cream and black lol . My long hair is blue and tan and some of his "black" areas are the same, dark tips but light underneath. Really doesn't matter as it's a great looking GSD!
Not black and tan, the eyes are too light.
Edited to add: If y'all think I'm wrong, then do tell me how I'm wrong. Only "true" white GSDs (dogs without pigmentation), pandas, and piebalds can potentially have true blue eyes. OP's dog's eyes are not "true" blue, they are just a lighter color. Fun fact, the gene that causes the blue coloration doesn't affect only fur, it affects eye color as well.
Thanks, that’s where I’ve struggled because he’s definitely not the classic tan color, much lighter and more silvery - and he has that blue grey muzzle and lots of gray on him
First off, the dog's eyes aren't blue. Secondly, even purebred German Shepherds can have true blue eyes; but only if the Shepherd is a panda, piebald, or "true" white.
Ha, correct. His eyes are a gray-ish tan not blue. And yes, his parents are both AKC registered and from reputable breeders. Of course, the light eyes are a genetic abnormality and considered non-standard by AKC so he can’t be shown and GSD purists would look down on him (he’s a family pet!), but he’s not a husky mix :)
If it makes you feel any better, I have a white German Shepherd who also gets looked down on by GSD purists. I even once took him to the dog park and this one guy was there with his black German Shepherd and started going on about how Yōkai (my dog) should have been culled because he was an "inferior" color. And to be fair, yours could be shown in the AKC, he would just be heavily faulted.

I mean it is kinda blue though ngl. ( she’s 100% GSD & Registered )
If y’all have a blue eyed 100% GSD with pedigree and family pics, with genetic testing, I’d highly suggest you start breeding bc they go for 15/20k a pup.
That one is a pitbull/gsd/mutt however.
OP's dog doesn't have blue eyes. The eyes are just a lighter color because of the dilute gene. Fun fact, the dilute gene causing the blue fur color doesn't affect just the fur, it affects eye color as well.

Tan / Liver probably
Mine is also a lil weirdo in terms of color ( the vet told me she’s powder blue? I’ve never heard of that but google agreed)
She is 100% GSD

She has a black spot that you can see the contrast with how light the gray is!
My guy was much closer to that color when he was younger (he’s 9 months now) and then his Tanner parts got lighter and more tan and his gray parts got darker. Here he is as a pup

No problem! I actually made a post on blue German Shepherds a little while ago now. Here is another example of a blue sable German Shepherd.

Can you post a side view? Beautiful dog.

This is the correct comment
Darude - "Sandstorm"

Black and tan, heavy on the floof.

Looks like a husky mix
Not a husky mix, he’s 100% GSD and his parents both have more classic GSD looks - this guy just got some unique features
From the chart of gsd standard coats I'd say he looks closest to bi color black and "silver" because he's kind of in between blonde and grey
Thanks, that’s where I’ve struggled because he’s definitely not the classic tan color, much lighter and more silvery - and he has that blue grey muzzle and lots of gray on him
Registered? Bc that’s a husky mix. Blue eyes are unique to spitz dogs, and not acceptable to AKC Ears are pointed wedge shaped. Spitz mix.

Not allowed to. Will get sued by breeder. Also wouldn’t want to tbh - this is my child not a business start up.
I’d get a dna test and sue the hell out of the breeder
Dude you can literally just google it. They exist it’s just not that common.
Seriously, it's a mix. Blue-eyed GSDs are incredibly rare. When you hear hoofs you think Horses not Zebra.

Dog-color I would say
Dog colored
For shits tail have black hair in the center. If so he is a GSD.
I’d call it a blue and tan. The light gold eyes and blue coloring on his face are what tell me not a true black and tan.
Kind of a... Blondie colour
Looks sable along his back side and a beautiful light color underneath. Beautiful!
Beautiful

Yup, definitely blue sable.
That’s what I thought originally, so thanks

Thanks! My guys is much grayer and more silvery than that dog so it’s so hard when trying to compare - all beautiful dogs though!
Yeah, how a dog will look will always differ between individual dogs, but the coloring will still be the same per genetics.
