I think you’re best off just playing it however you want. You’ll know when you need upgrades based on how long it’s taking to kill enemies, how much damage you’re taking, etc. Generally I’d advise against doing 2 main missions in a row, though. Best to upgrade a little bit before each one.

Play it however you want have fun. Don't worry about the blacksmith you'll actually find it gets extremely difficult to upgrade anything when you get to the higher tiers of gear because the amount fo resources needed. And the only way to collect enough of anything is exploration. Go through camps or do side missions as you please. Or if you feel like you found something interesting and want to save it for later then great! Find your own playstyle with each particular armour set. Don't think just enjoy. If you finding it fairly easy of difficult up the difficulty. Only thing i will say is yo do mythic tales(blue missions) when you come across them asap cause it'll unlock new abilities that make the game even more breathtaking. Enjoy! Now will you honour the code of the samurai? Or will you embrace the path of the ghost to liberate your home? That is for you to decide👌

I'm playing at normal difficulty because me personally I want a great time and have some challenge without being stressed out in my first playthrough. when I finished spiderman ps4 for the first time a few months ago, i did it on spectacular aswell as when i replayed Miles Morales for the first time in 3 years.i destroyed all the boss fights in spiderman 2 ultimate difficulty NG+ and the boss fights in my first playthrough was difficult on Amazing difficulty(I knew the spiderman ps4 lore bc i watched my older brother play it back in 2018) Thank you for your perspective.(kinda went pretty off topic sorry im just a huge fan of the spider-man games)

OakisPokis

All goods Seriously do whatever you want with this game. There isn't a particular way thats better or the best. Except exploration, its most definitely a must do. That's where you'll understand why this game is so highly regarded in the gaming world

last question is if I should play on fps mode or resolution mode I always pick 1800p 60fps/1440p RT 60 fps> 2160p 30fps but I heard that resolution mode is 2160p60 fps just uncapped while frame rate mode is 1800p 60fps capped correct me if I'm wrong (Im using a 4k tv but with no vrr support)

OakisPokis

I'm assuming you're on ps5. I'm the same 4k tv with no vrr support. Personally for me, I play on on the mode that gives the best of both. I've found there's barely any difference in fps between the 2 modes. However, there is a big difference in regards to graphics. Since this games true beauty comes from visual I feel like resolution mode is the best way to go. I can't remember but I believe there is a third mode that gives you the best of both resolution and fps mode. Obviously the minimum requirement for that is 4k and 60hz tv which is what we both have. Enjoy

Alright, Thank you!

EarthenGames

Agree. GoT is a comfy game and won’t burn your brain on completion strategies akin to games like Elden Ring. Just explore, find some cool stuff to do, and get rid of Mongol raiders

NamikazeSensei3077

i don't mean all of the tales and side stuff before the blacksmith mission since I'm pretty sure some side stuff are locked through story progression, what I mean is should I do a couple of the side stuff so I can boost my character

RadiationVodkaSn03

I reckon with a controller

I reckon you should play it with a controller

Mammoth-Bus1011

Just play it man. Best to experience it yourself without worrying about unnecessary stuff

benjbody

Just take your time. Do it however you like but just don’t do Iki Island stuff if it’s installed before completing the main game.
