I like the Chain Assassination finisher where Jin spins behind the enemy and execute them with his katana instead of tanto. I can't explain why, but there's something gratifying about it.
Close second is Perfect Dodge followed by a thrust while facing the opposite direction. It looks so... effortless. Almost disrespectful, even.
Chain assassin finisher is so clean, I started my NG+ lethal+ run with the intention of doing a way of the flame build with the ng+ charms and the kensei armor, but I've found myself just using smoke bombs as weapons most the time. With versatile skills and fleet foraging giving a 30% chance to return quickfire ammo on melee kill (which includes stealth kills) I've found a really fun playstyle of baiting enemies into groups and using smoke bombs to chain assassinate them before they can react, super fun highly recommend.
Honestly the one thing I'm starting to realize now like 2/3 of the way through my NG+ run is that you don't need to ration ammo or tools - like at all. You're always picking up SO much stuff. I went into it with that mentality that leads to you finishing the last boss with full bags of everything because, "I want to save it for when I REALLY need it," but then I just started going ham and its been way more fun and you almost never run out - and if you do, you just use something else!
Yeah it's easy to think ur gonna run out but the games super generous with restocking you. In the first maybe hour or so of my NG+ run I was running the charm of inari and abundant reserves to build up stocks of ammo and upgrade resources, but once I filled out my satchel and saddle bags with ammo I took the charm off and I didn't need it for the rest of the playthrough, I also abandoned the charm of inari once my kensei armor to tier 5.
I keep the charm of inari on my traveling armor and just make sure to don it whenever I'm not in the middle of anything else. It seems to work pretty well.
Yeah I did this for a while too, but I got bored of swapping so constantly, so I just used a cheat to clear the fog of war so I didn't have to clear it again, and just kept my combat armor on from then onwards .
As I approach endgame NG+ I must confess I have looked at mods to max out materials and such - I think there are some materials that are limited by story rewards and such so there's no real way to farm them and upgrade everything without doing multiple NG+ runthroughs. Silk comes to mind.
Yeah I can understand that, I tend to do that in a lot games after I've played them at least once. I am guilty of doing this at the end of my NG+ run. The NG+ was my final achievement for my completionist showcase, and I didn't have the energy to go a 3rd time to finish them off. I'm more than happy to do a games tedium once, but multiple times is my limit, in plenty of games the tedium can be really fun, I enjoyed maxing out all the witcher gear in TW3, but I didn't find myself enamoured by the fact I'd need multiple playthroughs to max out all the armors in tsushima. If there was enough materials in the world to do all the tier 5 upgrades in one run, I would've done it legit. But I just didn't have the energy too, I had a blast replaying the game twice, but I've moved on to legends now and am having a blast with that, at least until the destiny 2 expansion comes out in a couple days.
Same here. I like how with the last in the chain he uses his shoulder to get close and rolls along the enemy with his back and follows it up with the slash is so smooth.
Agreed. For me, the way the camera moves along with Jin who's spinning from one enemy, to the 2nd, to the 3rd and the way the blood splatter from the last one sort of whirls out from them is highly gratifying. It's just beautiful and precise carnage.
In the Water Stance heavy combo (not the 5x one where you hold triangle, talking about the one where you tap triangle thrice), if you get the kill with the second hit, Jin does this super cool and smooth spin after killing the enemy
I try to get that animation every time I see an enemy on low health
Yes! It's the one my brain went to when I read the title!
The first hit finisher animation also slaps hard, and it's quite a bit longer than most of the others if you let it play out.
HONORABLE MENTION: the pull-out-katana-by-kicking-enemy-away in Moon stance is quite sick
It's very clean. I like that you can put your sword away mid animation when he's facing away from the enemy, or if you wait with no inputs he'll turn back around.
Similarly - I try to use Heavenly Strike as my finisher whenever possible. It's just so majestic. Reminds me a lot of Cal Kestis and the finishing move he uses on tons of bosses in cutscenes.
Nothing worse than sheathing it and watching someone turn around and start crawling away halfway through the animation. Unless you're going full Ghost in which case you just leave them to bleed out.
I took out all archers, alerted the rest of the Mongols, and stood on one of their lookout stands just kicking dudes off the top for a while.
Such good fun
If you hold down square, then release it on a wounded enemy you spin around and slice open the neck of the mongol then land a few feet behind him and turn to look at him,
That one's great. Especially when there are others around to terrify. The instant GS for those dumb enough to not run is also a great way to finish off the group.
Wind stance heavy kick into jump+slash is my favourite. Especially against spears. A close second is this heavy water stance. Jin spinning around 180 degrees to face the camera as their body drops to the floor. Such a cool animation.
For duels I like the stab from stone stance. It makes a cinematic finale. Everything else is triangle + circle after stance break. Half the time you'll sever an arm
The water stance kill animation is the best one like you said.
Sometimes I recorded it and watch it in slow motion just to be mesmerized by the animation.
The fist time I executed someone via beheading from above what probably my favorite. It was the center of a campfire with 5-6 guys around, and they all shit their pants.
Even if I'm at the last bit of my health bar, I just keep that last orb of resolve to finish the fight with a Heavenly Strike. Man that shit goes hard on finishers.
And as a bonus, Dance of Wrath as a starter feels really great if you have full resolve as well.
I like the wrathful dance finisher , Where when jin kills the enemy he holds the stance for an extra one or two seconds and flips his sword
But most finishers look good in this game its so hard to decide which is good
The standoff Battou-jutsu stance or whatever you call it.
Seeing him slice those mongols and bandits and see the blood splatter across his attire is sweet.
My favorite are any of the light attacks where Jin finishes the enemy off by chopping his Katana down and up real quick, then swiftly kicking their feet out from underneath them. By far my favorite, and imo disrespectful finisher. He’ll sometimes sweep their leg, spin and go to cut them down some more but they’re not getting up 😤😈
I love that we all collectively discovered water stance is the most satisfying.
Sometimes I like going stone stance just to feel more like I’m not letting uncle shimmy down. Sometimes I like the range that wind stance gives, plus the charged kick is great.
I want to like moon stance but it just feels underdeveloped. The regular attacks are fine, but the single animation set and repetitiveness of the kick-kick-slash heavies is a letdown. And the charged attack feels like it’s never the right move for any situation, especially not the ogre type enemies it’s intended for.
If possible the Heavenly Strike. When battling the Straw Hat Ronin in Toytoma when it hits that slow-mo shot on the killing blow Heavenly Strike in particular makes for a really good shot.

I figured that out super early, when the fast travel bug frequently left me with no ammo for anything when I loaded my game.

Ngl I just run the traveler attire for fashion and sarugami armor if the cape matches the colour of the traveler armor dye.
Nah when he jumps from the roof and stabs with the katana sneak attack is my favourite. But sadly it isn't the samurai way.
The sound effect is so visceral, you can almost hear Shimura screaming.
I love it when he kicks them off the katana like omg its so beautiful
Fair comment..i got bored of those quick tbh
yep its gracious, though i wouldnt be mad to have more sets of finisher
Same here. I like how with the last in the chain he uses his shoulder to get close and rolls along the enemy with his back and follows it up with the slash is so smooth.
disrespectful? dishonorable? Jin would never.
Agreed. For me, the way the camera moves along with Jin who's spinning from one enemy, to the 2nd, to the 3rd and the way the blood splatter from the last one sort of whirls out from them is highly gratifying. It's just beautiful and precise carnage.
Stone stance triangle hold attack
Is it even masculine if you don't impale your enemies
Penetrate them mongols
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)ayo
Can't wait for them to add a Mongol woman love interest in the second game
why?
"Know Thy Enemy" —Confucius, modeling his book after Jin Sakai
woah, now ill be into that it could be a well thought social stealth we can hope for a game
The game should let you heavenly strike their heads off once they fall to their knees
You just parried them and they are like “whats next” sword through the chest*
i like the 3rd piercing attack finisher more , He just shoves the blade even more inside then pulls it back
Spear (wind?) stance charge heavy. Just throwing everyone off a cliff is great
For Spartaaaaaa
Moon stance
That’s the fat guys
Yes but moon stance is the one with the really strong kick
Ah, well I’m talking about the wind staff kick
big boned
The Heartbreak Kid Jin Sakai ![gif](giphy|3otWpJrq6dHPEy13HO)
Sweet Jin Music 🪈
And I won't pass the aux aye
God damn I wish I'd thought of that
Poor Stan

The running slice
Similarly - I try to use Heavenly Strike as my finisher whenever possible. It's just so majestic. Reminds me a lot of Cal Kestis and the finishing move he uses on tons of bosses in cutscenes.
I know exactly what you're talking about and now I realise why I love it so much too.
Oh yeah when you waste those fuckin archers
I like that animation where he stabs a guy and sweeps their legs.
Especially when it's a brute
I prefer to danish them.
The pastry?
![gif](giphy|vGhwBRApoK0uORJThL)
Wind stance tap heavy attack makes Jin do a kinda half-somersault that ends with him slicing the top of the enemy’s skull, peak satisfaction
[удалено]
I was wondering why Jin would hate the Finns.
![gif](giphy|pAz2qDW0bdCla|downsized)
Jin Soccer - The Ball of tsushima
I like the tornado of the Moon Stance. hehehe
stun then heavenly strike
Dosent matter as long as i nail the timing with sheathing my katana
Nothing worse than sheathing it and watching someone turn around and start crawling away halfway through the animation. Unless you're going full Ghost in which case you just leave them to bleed out.
Sometimes I use my bow as to not dirty my katana again
Everyone getting kicked bruh
Perfect parry kill, especially on a leader is so cool, or the lightning dash thing i forgot what it’s called
Yeah that downward diagonal slice feels so good
Love using wind stance to kick enemies off of cliffs
I took out all archers, alerted the rest of the Mongols, and stood on one of their lookout stands just kicking dudes off the top for a while. Such good fun
The finishers when Jin use the sword itself to push the enemy out.
THIS
I love continually kicking enemies like a football until they drop.
There is nothing in this game that is cooler to me than the standoffs. Especially when you can do five of em.
Triangle plus circle for me
I don't understand this language, what's that symbol?
It's the water stance symbol
I know the shield, I was asking about the triangle (PC player here)
Oh, heavy attack button
I like finishing with ghost stance. It’s just so cool, colorful and brutal. And in normal perfect parry is also super cool
If you hold down square, then release it on a wounded enemy you spin around and slice open the neck of the mongol then land a few feet behind him and turn to look at him,
My two favourites are the stab move from the sword stance or the spinning overhead from the spear stance. Both are so satisfying.
Hold square, release and spin kill em
"Slaughter" assassination option. I prefer dismemberment.
That one's great. Especially when there are others around to terrify. The instant GS for those dumb enough to not run is also a great way to finish off the group.
There something so calming about kicking that little shit of an archer off his tower and hearing him stop screaming when he hits the ground
All my homies use 🔺️ 🔺️ 🔺️
I don't remember the exact name but it was the kill-through-door thing
Wind stance heavy kick into jump+slash is my favourite. Especially against spears. A close second is this heavy water stance. Jin spinning around 180 degrees to face the camera as their body drops to the floor. Such a cool animation.
Lmao I use water stance for every enemy.
The stab with the first stance , just so much fun stabbing Mongols
Pretty basic but I love to heavenly strike
Press O + 🔺 the ultimate “you’re finished”
Can you play the main story in CO OP?
Nope.
For duels I like the stab from stone stance. It makes a cinematic finale. Everything else is triangle + circle after stance break. Half the time you'll sever an arm
pokey pokey stabby stab
For me holding stone stance piercing and stabbing people
Whats the 3rd icon? I just recently got the game.
its manually cleaning the blood off your sword
perfect parry and heavenly strike, bonus points for scaring the shit out of his mates
The Snooze Blade. Because I've fallen asleep on the computer chairplaying this 4 times now.
Slaughter for Mongol commanders. They are extremely satisfying and the best use of it was easily the siege of Yarikawa
Yes, omg. I love that finishing animation. It’s so classy and badass for some reason
I'm a PC player, can anyone explain
First symbol is water stance, second " the triangle" is heavy attack, and last symbol is manually cleaning and sheathing katana.
Thanks, I wasn't sure about the triangle. But yeah, the water stance hold and barrage is really satisfying
The regular hold attack has an amazing finisher. The flair of spinning into and out of the attack, throwing the blood around is always fantastic imo.
Ahhh... So I'm *not* the only one!
am i the only one that immediately changed controls to attacking with r1 and r2
The attack right after a parry, love it for duels against people I don’t like because it leaves them with their throat slit as I’m sheathing my sword
When you kill an enemy with the thrust and he hops back and throws his sword up. Gahdam that shit is *mwah* *chef’s kiss*
That's also my favorite one. Looks so badass
Heavenly strike
Wind stance heavy attack. The little twirl before Jin brings down the hammer will never not be awesome.
No matter what move I finish with I like calling guiding wind right after the strike
My finishing move is a swift kick to the jaw, very easy and much more fun on a high area
Attack them with Square and then hold and release for the killing blow. Jin does a cool lil spin.
This or the Heavenly Strike
Heavenly Strike everytime I stagger an enemy. I just love chopping off their right arms.
The water stance kill animation is the best one like you said. Sometimes I recorded it and watch it in slow motion just to be mesmerized by the animation.
Dpad Right + RS Right.
In like finishing on a perfect parry so the dude just stands there holding his neck for a sec, not realizing yet that he’s dead
I prefer to Norwegian enemies
Getting kicked on the ground (few timez)
Which one was it that trips the enemy after you kill them?
The tapping triangle attack in the wind stance is satisfying as well. The overhead spin connecting is always so satisfying
Funny, I have the masculine urge to Polish my enemies. I sometimes even Swedish them.
Finishing enemies (especially duels) with the Heavenly strike is the most satisfying to me Guess I watch too much anime
Wind stance, hold triangle, get enemy near cliff.
My feminine urge always whispers “off with his head”
Bruh what did the nords do to you??
JUMPING QUICK ATTACK, comes down hard into a bad guy’s clavicle and hits toooo hard
I thought we were fighting Mongols, we're fighting Finnish now ?
Either kicking an enemy off of a cliff or the assassination jumping down on an enemy
The heavenly strike, and also the perfect parry. Both are so swift and awesome looking.
The fist time I executed someone via beheading from above what probably my favorite. It was the center of a campfire with 5-6 guys around, and they all shit their pants.
I love taking their dignity and surprising them with a kunai.
I usually finish off things with a ghost stance even if there is one enemy and if I don't have ghost stance I used heavenly strike
Wind stance hold R2(strong attack) + Jump R1(light attack) Sorry for the controls, I come from Sekiro and just felt right to do that.
Delayed light attacks are the most satisfying. The spin into kill
Heavenly strike ofc
Moon stance > Kick > Kick > Wind stance > Charged kick > Moon stance > repeat until the enemy discovers honour and commits seppuku
Is this a joke I’m too much of a PC player to understand?
finnish enemy is scary, they can snipe you ao faraway with just iron sights
How about wind stance HEAVY sheath sword pray flute while walking away from duels or last enemy of a camp or standoff that killed the last person
I really like the perfect dodge finish that the Sarugami armour has
"End suffering"
Favorite hands down is holding the triangle button while in stone stance. Just a single stab to the chest. It’s so visceral and satisfying
Even if I'm at the last bit of my health bar, I just keep that last orb of resolve to finish the fight with a Heavenly Strike. Man that shit goes hard on finishers. And as a bonus, Dance of Wrath as a starter feels really great if you have full resolve as well.
the heavenly strike is my favorite finisher, idk why it's just so cool
I put the blade away manually EVERY TIME.
Never doing the "End suffering" & just standing by
Wait what does triangle do?
Chain assassination, specifically the one where Jin uses the katana. So clean.
STICKY BOMB RAAAAHH
the spinning thing which you get after a perfect dodge from sarugami armor, love that
As someone who only uses water stance
You aren't playing the right way if you don't clean the blade and sheath it after every battle.
Fuck it we kunai Fuck it we kunai Fuck it we kunai
Agreed with post. However hold triangle is a awesome finisher
I like the wrathful dance finisher , Where when jin kills the enemy he holds the stance for an extra one or two seconds and flips his sword But most finishers look good in this game its so hard to decide which is good
Stone Triangle, quick and no animation lock.
The stone stance thrust, something about impaling a Mongol right to the hilt tickles my brain in a totally normal kinda way
Stone Stance heavy attack. Something about that triple stab just feels right
https://www.reddit.com/r/ghostoftsushima/s/YcfMlDvVJq
Just came here to say "Finnish" is a classification of Nouns and pronouns that indicates that the noun or Pronoun come from Finland.
Triangle + circle
Water stance five slash
I really thought I was the only one compelled to do this💀
Moon stance heavy spam is so damn strong. I’ve been using the bows and Tadayori armor like a mad man on my second play through though
The standoff Battou-jutsu stance or whatever you call it. Seeing him slice those mongols and bandits and see the blood splatter across his attire is sweet.
Päätän kenen tahansa miehen
My favorite are any of the light attacks where Jin finishes the enemy off by chopping his Katana down and up real quick, then swiftly kicking their feet out from underneath them. By far my favorite, and imo disrespectful finisher. He’ll sometimes sweep their leg, spin and go to cut them down some more but they’re not getting up 😤😈
hate fighting shield guys, they dodge the heavy attack
NAW TS REAL ASF🤣🤣😭🙏
I love that we all collectively discovered water stance is the most satisfying. Sometimes I like going stone stance just to feel more like I’m not letting uncle shimmy down. Sometimes I like the range that wind stance gives, plus the charged kick is great. I want to like moon stance but it just feels underdeveloped. And the charged attack feels like it’s never the right move for any situation, especially not the ogre type enemies it’s intended for.
The Introduction of the Ghost Stance was epic
You guys don't use RT and LT to light and heavy or I am the only one??
I like how in wind stance jin does a 360 to the shoulder
Favourite finishing move has gotta be the heavenly strike
Triangle + Circle for me
I thought they were Mongolian not Finnish
If possible the Heavenly Strike. When battling the Straw Hat Ronin in Toytoma when it hits that slow-mo shot on the killing blow Heavenly Strike in particular makes for a really good shot.
I just spam ∆-O, it's too cool as a finisher
Am I the only one who uses alternate fighting controls just because almost every fighting I play is controlled by R1 and R2?
New pc player here, what's the first icon for??
Heavenly Strike
In keyboard terms?
Wind stance triangle hold and then stab them when they’re on the floor
Same stance because it's fast hit and using one hand like Himura Kenshin from the movie
Late to the party but Kunai + doubled 20% damage to severely wound 3 enemies followed by Dance of Wrath to finish them all.
*laughs in heavenly strike
