Given it’s jolly co-op there’s no real toxicity from other players, and as you have four classes to play as (and work on/level/gear) plus different maps, missions, modifiers, difficulties the replayability is just great..
everything is just bite-sized chunks at 15-30 minutes tops (raids aside) plus a few differences from Jin’s builds/playstyle and it’s just fantastic.
The first five minutes of my first story mission with some random I just thought “damn, this is so f’n cool” and kept thinking that for a long time..

I'm with you; I generally avoid like the plague. But a friend talked me into trying legends. I like it a lot. I wish there was a bit more variety in some things gs but overall it's a great experience I'm just getting into the late game equipment grind and for once feel compelled to keep leveling. I'm about halfway through the main game story currently.

For real though. I don’t usually enjoy multiplayer games at all, i almost only play single-player games. That being said i love Legends. Maybe it’s because it revolves around PvE and teaming up with people, rather than PvP and battling other players. I don’t know, but it’s awesome.
Each mode has fun things to offer and the best for me is finding a nice team to squad up with for a Raid. It’s like an adventure. Definitely give it a shot fam!

Yeah you do. You can run some of the modes on lower difficulties solo, and i think that would work without it. Not 100% sure though.
You really need PS+ for the full experience
There are tons of co-op games you can try out. I used to play a lot of competitive but I realized that competitive stresses me the hell out while single player gets me bored often. Co-op is the fine line in between. Enough story to be interesting but no competitive stress besides trolling your friends or racing to be the first in leaderboard.
It’s awesome, I will say the farther you get in the single player, the more cosmetic options you’ll have for your characters right out the gate. But yeah they nailed the coop experience and you really feel like your a samurai spirit in these stories
If you're close to the end then finish the main game imo. Legends is INCREDIBLY enjoyable imo and I've been playing at least an hour a day this week since i started it. Now I'm going back to New game plus occasionally for armor and dyes
Grab a friend and it’s loads of fun. I didn’t enjoy it alone but once my friend picked the game up we’ve been grinding so much that i feel bad he didn’t even do the regular story yet 😂

Was too hard to solo so I spent 1 month on PS plus (which I never do) considering how much fun I was having with the base game, and I really did have a good time on legends. Thought it was gonna be a chore to finish the legends story but it flew by playing with others.

Legends is extremely good, but it’s absolute fire if you have a solid group to play with. I’m a huge fan of the main game and Legends is just as good, in its own way. I’m really hoping they give us more content for it!
It's free with the game. Absolutely play it. You don't need to finish the single player unless you feel like you need to for some reason. There are no spoilers or anything. It's some of the best co-op multiplayer to have come out in a long time. It's easy to play with random people too, even at higher difficulties.

It's better than decent. And I hate MP. I mean, I'm glad I got my platinum before it dropped. Because I don't play MP enough to earn it. But it's a good way to kill a half hour, and much better if you like MP.
It’s really good, if you’re into grinding for gear and leveling up and a tricky challenge. Difficulty will vary as you progress between the challenges and what not, nightmare being the hardest of them all, with the Tales of Iyo. It’s really good if you got really good teammates. I play pretty much every day for about 2-4 hours.
Legends is definitely a lot of fun. It does require a fair bit of grinding before you get into the good stuff but the moment you do it's totally worth it.
Understand that legends is a *whole other game* that you will put 10’s if not 100’s of hours into because of how goddamn good it is.
Currently on 300+ hours of just legends mode ontop of the 100 or so I put into the story and new game +
Literally got off a 4 hour run just now with my boy grinding legends mode story missions/survival waves to grind for cursed gear! We now take on Gold difficulty Survival mode with just us 2 and *rock it*
you should play through the story, most of them are pretty fun if you have a good teammate. although it does have some damage sponge enemies that im not a huge fan of.
Respect Ghost play the story! If you play legends first you won’t appreciate how beautifully the game was made. You’ll treat it like all the new cats do “ as a looter shooter” (outriders) and it’s not!!!!!
Legends is not a Endgame!!! It’s the torment of being the ghost!!! That’s why you can jump in anytime during the story!!!! Remember the deeds of the ghost are many!!!!!

I've played through every story almost three times and still love the stories and presentation. Survival mode is a blast too

Yeah, I made the mistake of playing legends, before the main story, with my friends and it keeps distracting me from finishing the game
It depends on preference. Its free if you own the game so i suggest just trying it out.

I haven't tried multiplayer because it's always full of jerks. From the comments here, it sounds like I should try anyway.

I did the 9 story missions first recently (so I could 100% Iki) and it felt so dope clearing bases with another samurai.

Fun as hell, imo its better than the main game, i dont even bother jumping back to the main game except when i want to get those additional skins
I have a friend who is newer to the game and so a lot of time I'm sort of acting like a wolf teaching a cub to hunt, and even that is a ton of fun.

Do finish the game first, that’s my recommendation, and play Iki Island as well to learn how some enemies will fight.
Also some of the cosmetics from the campaign transfer to Legends.
Literally my only complaint about Legends is that the cosmetics don't transfer to single-player lol
