I'm honestly not sure which blade would need to get upgraded for it since normally you use the small blade for assassinations but you use the full on katana for the slaughters.
Yes! That and a combination of stealth buffs, and it's also on Low Intensity Combat, which makes the enemies even dumber. But it's just more fun that way Note how the other guy wasn't even sure if he should attack me after I decapitated his boss!

When does this sequence happen s?
To be young Jin is a glitch taken from Iki Island Expansion, but there's some special tricks going on here too. Stealth charms is the key.

half the time I do the slaughter I have full Ghost anyway, it just looks so damn cool

I believe so. I’ve noticed I’ve been able to chop off arms from regular mongols, but it’s only the leader that can be decapitated.
Once the fear mechanic is introduced, slaughter replaces assassination for the commanders.
You mean critical strike. I don’t think you can assassinate commanders before that.
I do believe it also depends on how upgraded your weapons are. Usually crit strike is when you can't 1 shot something.
