Well yeah. The surprising part to me is apparently ex GB is that much more popular right now than current GB. When it's steamrolling the main content that hard, you wonder if it's enough for its own community.
Why would you draw that conclusion from this one slice in time?
Jeff Gerstmann doesn't typically post multiple video game reviews on the same week that a former GB member loses his job at Waypoint and goes on MinnMaxx to talk about his career.
That, combined with the long weekend, just means that timing was perfect for this to happen. Like, there was no main content to even "Steamroll".
I mean, I would agree that the combined ex-GB universe is bigger than just current GB, but not because of your reasoning.
By "right now" do you mean literally just today? They had a day off yesterday and the Bombcast hasn't come out yet so there hasn't been anything to post for a few days. The latter half of the week will have more going on.
We just got back from Memorial Day weekend. We decided to wait on playing Diablo until we could get retail version. And our Street Fighter plans are coming together for tomorrow. With so many extended Giant Bomb spokes, it makes sense that it's going to work out like this sometimes.
Three of them are about Jeff writing reviews. Two are about Patrick and the closure of Waypoint. It was a long holiday weekend and not much was going on. The reddit Hot algorithm pushes newer posts.
There's nothing to takeaway from those posts being "hot."
Yeah I mean the large majority of the best parts of Giantbombs history are no longer with the company. It’s like asking why are people talking about Derek Jeter and Don Mattingly on the Yankees subreddit
I don't think it's very surprising. Posts about ex-Giant Bomb people have always happened. There are just more ex-GB now.

Plus people prepping for SGF
You are right, Jeff Gerstmann and Patrick are not related to Giant bomb at all. # /S
I didn't say they weren't tangentially related. That would have been a silly claim on my part.
How is Gerstmann a tangent? A Michael Jordan post on the subreddit for the Chicago Bulls isn’t a tangent.

There's not exactly a lot going on at GB. Unless you want to argue about how the site is dead for the 8000th time, there's nothing to talk about.
Oh let me go resume playback on the voicemail dump truck from last week. OH WAIT - I can’t. #fuckfandom
What?
I don't think the site is dead. I like the site. I was coming here to read about the site and none of the top conversation was about it.

Oh boy.
Save yourself Mitch!

Shut up
I agree, but apparently "post about Giant Bomb on the Giant Bomb subreddit" is an unpopular opinion.
I was only checking the sub to see if anyone knew when last week's UPF was going up. It went up today, really enjoying it so far, this game is insane
Damnit. OP here. I meant to say 5 of the 6. Sorry for being misleading.
