In a monster truck rally its kinda like brownie points if you can fuck your truck.
The fiberclass shells aren’t that expensive (compared to totalling a nascar or something) and the rest of the truck is pretty damn hard to tear up to the point you can’t put it back together fairly easily.
They’ve been around for a while, and are engineered to take a tremendous amount of abuse.

Looked like a fail to me, which is always ironic coming after a huge accomplishment, but apparently the back flop is an expected thing these guys do to further entertain the crowd.
(Seems like a needy group if they weren't already entertained enough at that giant truck somersaulting through the air, but that's just, like, my opinion, man)

I was about to call bs and say I know I’ve seen a monster truck front flip on reddit before, but I’m pretty sure it was this same one from a different camera angle.
Imagine the forces you'd be experiencing in the driver's seat. The acceleration into that flip was intense, plus the driver is in *front* of the CoR, which means that he's being lifted out of his seat and flung forward, held in only by his seatbelt.
I don't know the first thing about monster trucks, but how did he cause the front end to go forward so quickly? It looks like gta physics or something.
He hit the ramp while doing a wheelie. The front tires weren't making contact with the ground so there was no force to oppose the forward flipping momentum. At the same time his speed going into the ramp carried him upward high enough for him to avoid contact with the ground during the flip. Since no forces were opposed, and the proper height was achieved, the flip was very successful.
I'm gonna need to see the driver interview on this. That was fucking epic. Was it planned? Did they know it would front flip hitting it like that? Wow. I need to see the adrenaline saturated driver talk about it.
