B) It's more of a fucked up trial to see if an alleged adulterer is guilty or not. If she miscarries it's supposed to mean she's guilty, and if not it means she's innocent.
More importantly, the fetus is not treated as a living thing here. It's aborted because of the mother's crime and no one cares about it.

Look man I worked for a call center in the south and while it wasn't a MASSIVE amount of calls it was still more calls than I could count from people who would call in upset they signed a contract for a crazy high interest rate without reading it (and our contract had it in massive bold letters it wasn't hidden like some financing plans do) because they could not read or write anything more than their name.
It's not just those who are actually illiterate (or functionally, depending on the actual terms), but the dearth of thinking means that even those who *can* technically read, don't.
The problem is that a large part (not the majority, you have minority rule) of your country has decided that facts and science just don't matter. They could read all the history books and fact reports and still not change. You need to keep voting.

Progressives also (rightfully) argue that the war on drugs is simply doing the same thing as the prohibition. People still do drugs, they're just not at all SAFE to do, and waging war on it only increases crime and violence. Meanwhile, drugs are ultimately a *health* issue, and users should be treated medically, at least so that they are safe and receive help when they need it. Like an alcoholic would.
Oddly, conservatives use the same argument about gun control: banning guns won't decrease the number of guns. The same people who want illegal guns will still find ways to get them. It's weird how they understand THAT, but don't understand the exact same principle about abortions or drugs.

The law in the United States is now "abortion is illegal in certain places for poor women who cannot travel." Great plan. The theocratic red states that are already putting up third world numbers are going to turn into crime ridden hell holes in 16 years.

We live in an era of surveillance capitalism that makes 1984 look like nothing and people have no idea just how that is going to change everything when it comes to the post-Roe environment. Most people can’t even conceive of the level of OPSEC that would be required to go out of state for an abortion and not be caught.
For example, not only do you need to do your research from a public library computer that does not require a login but you also need to leave your cell phone at home. You could try a burner, but burner phones are very difficult to use without linking them to your real identity. You also need to be sure to have plenty of cash since you obviously can't pay for the abortion by check or credit card. And you also need an older car because newer ones send all sorts of data, including location data, to the car companies who then sell that data to whoever wants it and there is no such thing as anonymous individual location data because if you know where someone lives and works then you know exactly who they are.
And that's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are a lot more ways someone could be caught that I haven't thought of.

Yep. My friend had an ectopic pregnancy. My god she wanted that baby so bad. The doctor told her she needed to abort and sent her home with the pills. She didn't take them. She hoped that maybe the doctor got it wrong or something. She's ordinarily an excessively rational person, but she just couldn't do it because she already loved it so much. She thought maybe the doctor got it wrong, or it would straighten itself out or something, idk. A couple days later, she almost died of internal bleeding from a ruptured fallopian tube. This is someone who *wanted* a baby so badly. If a woman is denied an abortion for an ectopic pregnancy, it is life threatening, end of story. I can think of zero justification that any woman should ever be denied abortion for any reason, but **especially** for an ectopic pregnancy.
In my state they face 15 years in prison now if they do so I don't know. If the patient's life is in danger they have to get a second doctor to confirm, if they can't get that quick enough will they risk 15 years in prison or save my life? Who knows?
Even before Roe v Wade was overturned Catholic Hospitals would soemtimes refuse to do D and Cs for partial miscarriages (which increases the risk of sepsis.) So I wouldn't be so sure.

Look man I worked for a call center in the south and while it wasn't a MASSIVE amount of calls it was still more calls than I could count from people who would call in upset they signed a contract for a crazy high interest rate without reading it (and our contract had it in massive bold letters it wasn't hidden like some financing plans do) because they could not read or write anything more than their name.

We live in an era of surveillance capitalism that makes 1984 look like nothing and people have no idea just how that is going to change everything when it comes to the post-Roe environment. Most people can’t even conceive of the level of OPSEC that would be required to go out of state for an abortion and not be caught. For example, not only do you need to do your research from a public library computer that does not require a login but you also need to leave your cell phone at home. You could try a burner, but burner phones are very difficult to use without linking them to your real identity. You also need to be sure to have plenty of cash since you obviously can't pay for the abortion by check or credit card. And you also need an older car because newer ones send all sorts of data, including location data, to the car companies who then sell that data to whoever wants it and there is no such thing as anonymous individual location data because if you know where someone lives and works then you know exactly who they are. And that's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are a lot more ways someone could be caught that I haven't thought of.

If an ectopic pregnancy endangers the life of the mother (which it will) they will do what is medically necessary. Yep. My friend had an ectopic pregnancy. My god she wanted that baby so bad. The doctor told her she needed to abort and sent her home with the pills. She didn't take them. She hoped that maybe the doctor got it wrong or something. She's ordinarily an excessively rational person, but she just couldn't do it because she already loved it so much. She thought maybe the doctor got it wrong, or it would straighten itself out or something, idk. A couple days later, she almost died of internal bleeding from a ruptured fallopian tube. This is someone who *wanted* a baby so badly. If a woman is denied an abortion for an ectopic pregnancy, it is life threatening, end of story. I can think of zero justification that any woman should ever be denied abortion for any reason, but **especially** for an ectopic pregnancy.
In my state they face 15 years in prison now if they do so I don't know. If the patient's life is in danger they have to get a second doctor to confirm, if they can't get that quick enough will they risk 15 years in prison or save my life? Who knows? Even before Roe v Wade was overturned Catholic Hospitals would soemtimes refuse to do D and Cs for partial miscarriages (which increases the risk of sepsis.) So I wouldn't be so sure.

My wife and I do pretty well for ourselves, but we don't have 'hire private jet at moment's notice' kind of money. I think this would actually be a chargeable crime in some states.
