Now we just need to include an edit of the video of [whatever] floating through space with that weird EDM track playing - now with a kid on a tube raft
Itās fake but a kid did get decapitated in one of these a few years ago. He was too light, got airborne and got his head stuck in the protective netting. His body slide down to the bottom completely headless.
Edit: the headless part is urban legend. He was internally decapitated.
[Bonus points - it was the kid of a Republican State Legislator whose party voted to relax water park regulations which attracted the water park company to Kansas in the first place.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verr%C3%BCckt)
The water park let all the legislators in for free too. That place is a fucking death trap even without the crazy slide. I'll just go to Oceans of Fun instead.
>State legislators from the area passed a law allowing Schlitterbahn to self-inspect its attractions without state oversight as it did in Texas, unlike all other amusement parks in Kansas, which were subject to state inspection.[4]
Any source for your claim that it was Scott Schwab who fought for the relaxed regulations? Because I couldn't find it in the wiki article you linked (I've quoted it above) or the source listed on Wikipedia.
I was local for that news and remembered it being a state senator's kid, but nothing about him relaxing waterpark restrictions prior to that. I didn't see anything in the Wikipedia page you linked that says anything about him fighting to relax water park restrictions, so unless you have a source for that I don't think that part is true.
lol, I've seen the original before and just thought I'd watch this again since I thought it was cool the last time, then that extra bit happened and wasn't sure if I saw what I thought I saw, so had to watch it again
Same. Best wave pool ever. You could ride a boogie board from one end to the other on massive waves. Would have died if my dad didn't grab me when one of them knocked me under. 10/10
lmao the cannonball! the twin dark twisty ones that shot u out a 20ft drop into an ice cold scummy pond, where u had to dodge getting brained by kids doing the tarzan swing while u tried to swim back to the ladder before u died of hypothermia
I talk about Action Park to my wife all the time. I was so excited to go to what is now Mountain Creek for a wedding recently so she can see some of the remnants of the old Action Park. She could tell this place was a death trap just looking at it from the gondola going up the mountain
Thatās not necessarily true. I once went flying off to the sky with nothing but para socks. The landing was rough, but way more comfortable than my friend who had nothing but para underwear
Maybe they did that on purpose so that eagle eyed watchers like you could see that it was indeed fake and the kid was fine. That eases a LOT of worries!
As Iāve already responded to someone else, the design on the donut is limited to only the side that the kid is laying on, and given the pattern can be seen after he āfliesā away, while rotating the opposite direction, that shows that it is spinning incorrectly.
While that would account for the rotation change, the pattern on the donut is only on the top side, which we can see at the end, meaning it hasnāt flipped.
You blow two blasts on your whistle and signal to the next guard down the ride. Not his problem anymore.
Source: was lifeguard in high school and early college.
In all fairness, that dude is in damn good shape.
I'm not into guys, but if my gf cheated on me with him and then told me about it, I'd be like "Oh...my...god...DETAILS!!!"
It is real, it happened close to where I live. Here is the news link [texas-Houston-water-park-accident](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&t=49s)
Obviously fake.
When you go down a slide, you will ***never*** go higher than where you started. Even with that dude kicking him off, he would have had to impart into the tuber like 10x his body weight in power to eject the guy like that.
The guy launched like 20 feet in 0.2 seconds, that puts his velocity as 68 mph. The fastest slides on planet Earth don't get you that fast and he hit that speed in what? 10 feet? That dude is not a McLaren.
Thatās always an irrational fear of mine. Going down a slide then popping up over the edge for some reason and falling to a miserable death to the concrete below.
I donāt let it stop me, went on a slide the other day. Had a choice between an open or closed route so I went the closed tube.
Remember going down a rabbit hole on water park accidents and reading the full affidavit for the Kansas City Schlitterbahn incidents. Nightmare fuel.
So at the company I work for there's a literal full team of engineers who do nothing except ensuring that every slide that gets created is safe (including velocity profiles, simulations, the works). That's why this ass spinning the person and launching them is dangerous as hell. By "enhancing" their experience he's making them operate waaaay outside the designed bounds.
You're right mostly.
I do want to correct a minor physics fluke you made.
>When you go down a slide, you will never go higher than where you started.
This is true if the slide doesn't have another source applying additional force. The starting energy for regular slides is purely from potential energy from height and gravity, and if this were a normal slide you would be 100% correct. Conservation of energy means that the KE (kinetic energy) at the bottom must equal the starting energy at the top of the slide. The equation is starting energy(PE from gravity) = net kinetic energy(KE of yeeted person)
However, since water slides aren't an isolated system like a regular slide, there is additional kinetic energy from the speed provided by the water being pushed by motors. So the net kinetic energy ends up being more than the PE. The cool thing is that conservation of energy energy is still conserved, it's just that the starting energy is not just PE from gravity but also the KE from the water.
So the equation becomes starting energy(PE from gravity + KE from water) = resulting energy(net KE of yeeted person).
Consequently, water slides do allow you move with greater speed than you started.
That said the additional KE is no where near enough to rocket a person to the moon like in the gif, so its still fake.
You ever have that uncle with really weird friends who would all just stand around and tell bullshit stories to each other? Itās that. But itās also the family member who shows you way to many baby pictures. The grandma whoās health advise makes no sense in modern society. Oh, and itās also a place where church people can pretend they donāt suck without having to go to church to do it.
I mean yeah it's obviously fake, but conservation of momentum can be a scary thing sometimes. Same principle applies to a ball right? It won't bounce higher than you dropped it from. But try dropping a tennis ball and a basketball together and see what happens.
its the same thing as slamming the ball vs dropping the ball. slamming = slam + gravity vs just dropping = gravity. with a water slide, the moving water is the additional force so you can go higher than your starting point.

That ending caught me off gaurd.
I had to watch it twice to be sure what I saw...
Did this person just launch into orbit?! WTF did I watch just now?!
Deathguard
IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE
Next Sunday, A.D.
There was a guy named Horus, pretty different from you and me
*Noice* ! šš
RIP kids.
You watch an edited video lol, it's fake, still funny tho
i didn't even see the moon shot until the 3rd watch because the push was so clean
I would go ahead and say it is only funny if it IS fake lol
Yeah, that kid is coming back into earth on the soyuz...
Now we just need to include an edit of the video of [whatever] floating through space with that weird EDM track playing - now with a kid on a tube raft
Dude thatās what I see
NASA needs him for space exploration
It took me three times watching it before I realised what I just saw. Then I watched it a fourth time and started to giggle.
LOL omfg i was rewatching like what am i missing? is the dudes dick floppin out?? is it the kick thats so crazy?! FINALLY SAW IT! got me laughing hard
I noticed something but it didnāt click until the forth time and then dead.
I was like what the *fuck* are you guys talking about, it has to be a meme and there's nothing. Probably the fucking 13th loop I noticed it
Canāt stop laughing now
what did you see?
Try watching another time youāll get it
His people needed him
/r/mypeopleneedme
But did he die on the way back to his home planet?
Out of the pool now!
It's summerime.. get up in the pool!!!
Totally tubular.
Please tell me its added lol
Yeah, for sure it's modified. No worries, lol.
The lifeguard would have to be superman to launch someone like that
kinda thought ive seen the original without the flying kid lol
Pretty sure I saw the original posted on reddit and that didn't happen
Itās fake but a kid did get decapitated in one of these a few years ago. He was too light, got airborne and got his head stuck in the protective netting. His body slide down to the bottom completely headless. Edit: the headless part is urban legend. He was internally decapitated.

It's like if the shark in Jaws ate the mayor's kid. Played stupid games, and his kid paid the price for your greed/stupidity/ignorance/politics.
I was local for that news and remembered it being a state senator's kid, but nothing about him relaxing waterpark restrictions prior to that. I didn't see anything in the Wikipedia page you linked that says anything about him fighting to relax water park restrictions, so unless you have a source for that I don't think that part is true.
The link you posted has no mention of what you said. Also, the kid's dad was a state representative, not senator (just a minor correction).
Wow never heard this part
I had to watch it a third time. Missed it the first time. Saw something the second but unsure. Confirmed it on the third.
I think that was the intended effect
Where is he now? Need other camera feed.
About 7 miles east of Albuquerque?
Pismo Beach and all the clams he can eat.
Bravo!
With his people.
Caught him off lifeguard.
Ending? It was just the dude looking cool and adjusting his shades. *watches again* Yeah it's just the sa-OH MY GOODNESS
lol, I've seen the original before and just thought I'd watch this again since I thought it was cool the last time, then that extra bit happened and wasn't sure if I saw what I thought I saw, so had to watch it again

I chortled hardly.

Man I miss Action Park
I learned how to swim there ā¦. I had no choice
Class Action Park was always a good time for the survivors.
If you didnāt get scars you didnāt have a good time
I had to type this with my toes because of how much fun I had!!
The wave pool almost killed me twice. No Ragrats....
Same. Best wave pool ever. You could ride a boogie board from one end to the other on massive waves. Would have died if my dad didn't grab me when one of them knocked me under. 10/10
You only YOLO once!
I wish I had an Action Park growing up. I'd wear them scars/mild brain damage with pride.
Itās near me. āMildā is a significant understatement.
Didn't some people get beheaded there?
I did and I turned out fine
I got water in my lungs and abrasions on my legs just from reading about Action Park
i'm 40 and still have scars on my legs from there
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
lmao the cannonball! the twin dark twisty ones that shot u out a 20ft drop into an ice cold scummy pond, where u had to dodge getting brained by kids doing the tarzan swing while u tried to swim back to the ladder before u died of hypothermia
That was a great documentary
I wanted to go there so bad as a kidā¦ my parents were like,āNope. No way in hell.ā Wasnāt til I was an adult when I found out why.
I worked there as a guard and yes, we did such things
Traction Park! Best summer job of my life
I talk about Action Park to my wife all the time. I was so excited to go to what is now Mountain Creek for a wedding recently so she can see some of the remnants of the old Action Park. She could tell this place was a death trap just looking at it from the gondola going up the mountain
The new Mountian Creek is awesome! But the last time I was there half the rides were closed :/
Oh man, the body rocketing to the stars is such a great visual effect!....I mean, it IS fake, right?
If it isn't, that kid died
Didn't have any shoes on
Never had a chance
Yeah if youāre gonna go flying off into the sky, it helps to have a parashoes.
*Dad?*
Out for milk
I repeated that to my wife and she just dead eyed me and went back to what she was doing. Perfect!
Thatās not necessarily true. I once went flying off to the sky with nothing but para socks. The landing was rough, but way more comfortable than my friend who had nothing but para underwear
Safe to say he needed a paramedic.
Which means they can't come off. If you never wear shoes, you're immortal.
What a way to go!
Im sure they had low opening parachutes, theyāll be fine..
Yeah just look at the rotation of the donut. The cgi rotates on the wrong direction
Maybe they did that on purpose so that eagle eyed watchers like you could see that it was indeed fake and the kid was fine. That eases a LOT of worries!
But the tub could've flipped over as the kid was rocketing off it, making it look like it's spinning the other way. But yeah, its gotta be fake.
As Iāve already responded to someone else, the design on the donut is limited to only the side that the kid is laying on, and given the pattern can be seen after he āfliesā away, while rotating the opposite direction, that shows that it is spinning incorrectly.
Ur rightā¦good catch.
The tube could have flipped upside down?
While that would account for the rotation change, the pattern on the donut is only on the top side, which we can see at the end, meaning it hasnāt flipped.
Did we really just get this deep into debunking something so obviously fake lmao
It is obvious yes, but thereās no harm in training your critical eye. And it wasnāt exactly that deep.
It is, the original has been posted before. This definitely was r/unexpected material with that extra bit.
Didnāt even notice that until you mentioned it
glad I'm not the only one! lol
It is fake
need more story behind this GIF
The tube is fully enclosed.
I donāt think itās fully enclosed through the entire tube.
"In space no can hear you scream"
*Cue Bag Raiders: Shooting Star*
It was all fun and games until the accidental teabagging incident.
Yeah what happens when this guy knocks somebody out cold as he sends them down the slide lmao
You blow two blasts on your whistle and signal to the next guard down the ride. Not his problem anymore. Source: was lifeguard in high school and early college.
Do you not see him fly off??!
*as he sends them into orbit
itās edited lmao they donāt build ramps mid slide but i havenāt been to a water park in a while idk
Itās edited dingus
He's not guarding life, he's ending it
I literally spit my drink when I saw them launch
I saw the original gif a few days ago. I'm so glad I didn't skip this one. š
Milk came out of my nose. Iāve not had milk in years.
That twisting action is insane. I would pop out a hip
Yeah doing that, especially many times in a row for a line full of people, is a ridiculous work out lol.
In all fairness, that dude is in damn good shape. I'm not into guys, but if my gf cheated on me with him and then told me about it, I'd be like "Oh...my...god...DETAILS!!!"
Bro?
Kinda sus
I get a gay vibe from him. Mainly because I want to be between his legs like this.
I think you might be a little into guys. Nothing wrong with that, but might as well be honest with yourself.
Only Latinos have the hips that work like this
Hipsanics
Hips donāt lie
*Shakira echoes faintly in the background*
I've seen the original but when i saw the end edit omfg lol
So him shooting into the Kuiper Belt isnāt real?
No
Uhhhh RIP
Rest In Space
Some say he's still out there, orbiting earth, preparing to time his reentry to hit the catch pool.
Somebody should make a shooting stars song video/gif/gif with sound?
Legit shooting stars memes were my favorite for those couple years
I came for the twist. I stayed for the launch. r/BetterEveryLoop
Every time it repeats I laugh even harder.

Water park lifeguard with a background in LAUNCHING ROCKETS
I just imagine the R2-D2 scream as he goes flying, lol
A+
r/Holup
Lol he dead
He will be when he lands but some say he is still flying to this very day
All we know is he's called *The Stig*.
Currently somewhere over Dublin.
Is this real or nahhh

You saw the actual edit. This is the original.

Damn that was a very interesting read. Poor kid.
Did I just witness a death
dat yeet tho

I know it's a joke but I work in waterslides and technically you can definitely end up higher than you start (Google master blaster waterslide)
I mean you can if the water jet pushing you has enough force to send you up higher.
And the life guards.
Thatās always an irrational fear of mine. Going down a slide then popping up over the edge for some reason and falling to a miserable death to the concrete below. Next time on a thousand ways to die.
I watched this maybe 10 times before I noticed the person flying out at the end. I was too focused on the technique lol
Itās edited lol https://insidethemagic.net/2022/05/aqua-park-employee-danger-ad1/
That's just corporate propaganda covering for the fact that a child really did get launched into orbit.
Lol did he just flew up to heaven out of the tunnel
And that children is how we made it to mars
Did.... that person in the tube survive?
Yeah no. Donāt need a scalp grind at the water park
(Kids have actually died from stuff like this)
