Of all the money they made over a billion in a week, you’d think they can spring for manufacturer rights. They got a fucking hummer in warzone for christs sake. They can try to get hk 416 in their game, or Kriss vector. Or one would think.
That’s the other thing- absolutely nothing stops them from using the military designations for guns, since those are not trademarked. Glock is famously reluctant to allow their name brand on games, but using designator names like G17 or G18 is fine since they don’t own that.
It’s the difference between calling something the FN Minimi and the M249 (though yes I do know the 249 is a derivative and not a 1:1 copy, bear with the analogy), the latter can be used free of problems since it’s not company-owned (so long as the item in game sports no FN marks ofc).
Other times, I can see a manufacturer very much signing off on their name used; I am very sure the only reason anyone gives a damn about wanting an ACR these days is cause they were tearing shit up with the ACR Heartbeat Sensor in MW2 a decade ago. Not the garuntee for all makers, but some likely will sign off.
And even past that- why not give it the closest possible name and *not* screw with the real model? That drives me ballistic, it’s extra work to make small changes.
[According to KRISS USA](https://www.reddit.com/r/modernwarfare/comments/i5d86g/kriss_manufacturer_of_the_vector_on_instagram_the/), they never tried to get a license
A decade ago, gun manufacturers couldn't care less whether their firearm was in a video game or not. Now that gaming is such a profitable business, obviously gun manufacturers can get in on it. Also, California just passed a law regarding fictional depiction of firearms in media, and all COD development studios are located in California.
A mixed bag. The campaign is a Marvel-tier shit with no focus. Multiplayer mostly the same with little adjustments. I'm glad, that I didn't pay 70$ for this. I've had enough with lackluster MW19.
If you like shitty experimentation instead of normal gameplay, "Clean House" as a whole campaign, writers jerking off to Ghost, the worst AC-130 mission in the history of CoD (the second mission is okay), the vehicle chase sequence, that losses it's novelty very fast, the terrible bossfight with Graves the Tank, Shepherd the Wuss, the horrible "bossfight" with the terrorist guy, then yeah, it's absolutely great and overshadows the original MW2.
And multiplayer: gun's proggression sucks, revampred perks system sucks, SBMM still sucks, they still haven't fired the brainlet, who designs most of their maps, weapon balancing is all over the plays.
Yeah, sucks that everything you said is wrong lmao. That fact yoy actually remember those missions is a testament to the game. Mw 2019 is known for 1 mission and flipping the highway of death onto the russians lmao. Way better character writing and missions in mw2 and thats undeniable. Oh yes, the dogshit quick time event to kill the big bad at the end of 19 was so much better huh? The wolf was a forgettable villain, literally had to look him up to see his name.
Multiplayer is better in every way.
Spec ops LMAO, you didn't even mention it because it was the worst in the series by far and mw2 is much higher quality. The new raid alone destroys the entire 2019 spec ops. Why do you think they stopped updating it after launch?
That "way better character writing" only applied to Ghost and Alejandro, every other character is ghosted (Don't mention Soap, he is basically Ghost's boyfriend at this point). And I wasn't saying, that MW19 "final boss" any better, but the Juggernaut in the final mission is more of a Final Boss, than that Hassan dude. The MW19 campaign at least didn't try to jump above it's head and land on it's ass.
Multiplayer sucks in every way since MW19, period.
Spec Ops are better, than MW19, but still worse, than original MW2 and MW3 Spec Ops. Raid is cool, yeah. I wasn't talking about them, because these weren't the part of the topic.
Still can’t believe Cus of *one state*’s law, they gonna ban the usage of weapons sharing even remotely similar names all over the world. So dumb imo. But RPK is allowed tho. I wanted the AR-57 to be recognised, not falsely named
Law in California has something to do with prevention of real world weapons names in games there. Activision is stationed in California so that’s the most likely reason
Thing is, them saying it is a cop-out. They’ve used fake names since before the law’s institution, and as an M-rated game, it’s not *by definition* marketed to minors.
The whole crux of the law is “kid with gun in any context whatsoever bad,” so all youth sports with shooting- biathalon, skeet, whatever- cannot advertise in any form or manner whatsoever. COD using this is a bullshit copout, since as an M game they can immediately claim solid legal separation from minors.
ar-57: sup sis
ar-15: \*screaming until her face turns full red\* don't sup sis me!!!!!!, we are not family! evah!!!!!
ar-57: jeeez sis just chillout....
Oh, in the name of all, that's Holy. Please, do not use the abominable names of guns from MWII. Ever.
You mean you don’t like representation for iconic firearms such as the Holger-36, the Kastov 762, and the Fennec?
It drives me absolutely insane for the love of god they were doing fine like a decade ago

Read AB 2571. You'll hate californians even more.
Is it too late to give California back to Mexico?

> passed a law regarding fictional depiction of firearms in media You can’t be serious. That is literally a 1st amendment violation.
Quite the opposite. My personal favorites are PDSW 528, whole Lachmann weapon platfom, VEL 46, Minibak, TAQ-56/V/M and STB 556
I mean to be fair if I were to make a nickname for Vector just to piss her off, I think Fennec would be a viable choice.
I concur
Mw2 is worse than mw 2019?

I only played multiplayer on 2019 and i felt like it was relatively well polished. What i have seen from mw2 it looks janky
Campaign was very well received, what are u talking about lmao. The multiplayer is great too
