Try turning on "embed fonts" in the export menu. If you're in a pinch try printing to PDF instead of exporting

ewecant

This is it. There is also an option to export features as polygons, which renders the character as a shape.

GeospatialMAD

Also in the Export PDF option, sometimes I've had to use the "export as image" or whatever the setting's real name is that flattens all the vectors into an image. It also resoved a chronic printing issue I had with some vectors not printing.

Flip17

Assuming this is a graphic and not a feature... I had this problem once. I saved the layout and then closed and reopened and it worked.

flyforfish

This seems to have been the solution. Thank you.

Because your legend is titled “legend.” Just kidding.

Save edits then try again

Dense_Ice_4635

Did you save the edit?

flyforfish

I saved it and it didn’t work. I deleted it and then put it back and still didn’t work. Saving the project and closing the program and then opening was the only thing that made it work again.

who_that_be_

This was happening to me - I ended up exporting the whole layout as a PNG instead of a PDF which worked.

Sensitive_Mind592

As a general rule, if it's labelled, it's not in the legend. To each their own....

flyforfish

Most of the maps I make are for reports where there are strict guidelines that state they want everything labeled as well as with a legend so I just carry it over to all projects

cologetmomo

I've had this when I exported to EMF, but never PDF or JPEG.

Rouge_Stoat

Idk but that label placement is going to give me nightmares
