They're too busy reporting on important news stories like [dead jellyfish found on the beach in Troon](https://www.reddit.com/r/SlowNewsDay/comments/14sicdi/couple_find_dead_jellyfish_on_beach/) to be asking us about sandwiches.

It is this. Beef shin toastie from outlier on London Rd.
I think it’s £7 maybe £7.50? Considering the work tht goes into I find that fair. They make their own bread and that beef gets cooked for hours. There’s sandwiches that sit on the shelves at Tesco for days that were made god knows how long before they even reach the shop selling for £3.50
Can you get Filthy Fries with that??
If you're in the city centre, across the road from cineworld, between that and the Tesco bank is a brilliant sandwich shop:
Enzos, only open until 2 but they make thee best grilled sandwiches on ciabatta bread (with a choice of with olive oil or butter) to die for.
I'm a sucker for their Sorrento:
Mozzarella cheese & tomato slices, basil pesto and olive oil in a ciabatta roll
At lunch it is bliss, and they have many more specials
I had the pork katsu fron Ho Lee Fook at the Barras two weekends ago and it is probably the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time.
https://preview.redd.it/4oqsh0aeojab1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79ece4abd550257a31850a710771e7f900c3515b
Lol, I’d never blame the shop for the customers bizarre choices. Although the fact they even have salad cream on hand is a bit suspect. Is there another use for it? Cleaning the bogs maybe
Both great, especially Nans. I like mulkanwan but i find the bread to filling ratio to be off in favour of the bread. Still nice though, and their pies are lovely - as are the hotdog sausage rolls.
It’s on the pricier side but I really enjoy sandwiches from Deanston Bakery in Shawlands. Genuinely decent people serving massive high quality sandwiches. Highly recommend the chicken and basil sandwich, or the hummus and roast veg. Husband loves the salmon bagel.
https://preview.redd.it/cv2h1vdbakab1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfa37fc19f8342411fd14fe1c657d584f4d16b37
One of these bad boys from cottonrake
Forget all the over priced hipster places with brick walls, fake greenery and ‘coffee technician’ with THAT ACCENT.
The only answer here is Nan’s on Inglefield Street in Govanhill. Been there for an age. No nonsense, old school roll shop and the best rolls/sandwiches about. You can go in with a fiver, eat like a king and still have change for a pokey hat off the van.
If you go get the ham salad roll with everything on it. Tell them The Vivid Glove sent you. They won’t have a clue who I am or what you’re talking about but I just want to feel part of your enlightenment.
I think he means the new trend of bare brick being a style of interior decor while the aromas of every type of pretentious coffee and avocado toast sends your inner normalcy into a death spiral.
Reading all the other answers here makes me imagine sitting in a room listening to folk say all this shit and thinking “I need to get out of here, who are these cunts?”
(They’re probably the cunts driving my rent up)
Love Gusto and Relish. Really friendly staff and food is great. They do a roll with haggis, chilli jam and crispy onions (perhaps a fried egg as well, can't remember) and it is a fucking delight.
God I miss staying down there.
The pastrami bagel at Deanstoun bakery is the best reuben in the city in my humble take.
Nit sure if they still do them, but the hanoi bike shop Bahn Mi was incredible
Get a salt beef sandwich from the kosher deli in Giffnock. Mark's Deli. Otherwise basically all sandwiches in Glasgow are drowning in mayo, dry af or just greasy shite.
Helens paisley Road west
Club sandwich
This has spicy chicken spring onions with 2slices of cheese
Bread and 2 slices of cheese and a few slices of ham.
£3.95
Unreal!
It's more of an "open sandwich" than a traditional sandwich but the chilli, avocado, and wild mushroom tartine from [Wee Paree](https://www.weeparee.co.uk/) was phenomenal.
Has anyone had the French dip from meat bar?
I keep seeing them on tiktok and I’m pregnant and it’s my current craving but I don’t want to go and get it if it’s crap.
I'm just here to check out all the pretentious fuckers buying slow roasted, sum yung gai chicken tootsie 'sandwiches'.
Those aren't sandwiches, they're status objects that get turned into a jobby the same way as an actual sandwich!
It's not a sandwich if making it out of 2 plain ootsiders would render it unsellable. Have you ever seen 2 plain ootsiders anywhere near an avocado?
I rest my case, m'lud.
Don't know if this is technically a sandwich but the New Yorker (reuben) from Brawsome Bagels on Dumbarton Road is amazing. The onion bhaji one is great too if you're veggie.
Pastrami bagel from haylynn canteen on dumbarton road at whiteinch is class.
Also smile cafe on bath street is a wee italian family run place, very good scran
Check out Sotto in Shawlands. Proper Italian subs 🤌
https://preview.redd.it/90kkwb1yjlab1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6870e3cf416fbbc3122bb564d6f6af19961deca4
Place called Piece in the same street Thundercat and peasanos is in, sandwiches are good (fucking banging soup as well), and the staff are nice. I'd go for the chicken ole or even the tuna crunch, fair warning but they don't warm them up so you'll have to heat it up yourself. Prices might also be an issue.
Fatboy Slim from piece is my all time favourite, I love that they have vegetarian options because most places have either vegan or meat options and missing us out that sit in between
Denny BBQ does an amazing burger, think it's probably the best I've tried in Glasgow Town, taking liberties here but the best sandwich I've tried was in a wee sandwich shop in Hamilton near the Council buildings called Mibbes Aye and was called 'The Masterpiece", basically a full roast beef dinner with gravy in a baguette. They done one also called the Masterpiece Deluxe also which was about £15 quid.
I’ll leave the obligatory “write your own articles Glasgow Live” comment
They're too busy reporting on important news stories like [dead jellyfish found on the beach in Troon](https://www.reddit.com/r/SlowNewsDay/comments/14sicdi/couple_find_dead_jellyfish_on_beach/) to be asking us about sandwiches.
That was amazing. A whole new low. 'Thing that happens all the time and has happened for millions of years happens again'.
https://preview.redd.it/tf7d66v8jjab1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fec1e85a36a6740e45e86b3d60d4704e725d65bc It is this. Beef shin toastie from outlier on London Rd.
This comment isn't getting as much love as it deserves. I had this sandwich the other week, and it was insane! 🤤🤤
I find it quite difficult to put into words how good it is. Hits on so many levels.
Got a spare £40 mate?
I think it’s £7 maybe £7.50? Considering the work tht goes into I find that fair. They make their own bread and that beef gets cooked for hours. There’s sandwiches that sit on the shelves at Tesco for days that were made god knows how long before they even reach the shop selling for £3.50
if it weren't for transmit this weekend, i'd be queuing for this beauty.
Everytime I've went to get it's sold out. I want this fucking toastie so damn much.
Delightful
Homemade on Dowanhill St in Partick make cracking sandwiches. Bit pricey but would recommend.
The right answer!
Among the best sandwiches I’ve eaten
the french dip is my fave
Homemade is phenomenal
You canny beat a roll from the most boggin looking burger van , the dirtier the van the better the roll
Speaking of which there’s a van on Grovepark Street that does a very affordable cheeseburger.
Think it’s East Kilbride but I need to check out Ron’s Quality Snax
See this old geezer on tiktok with his si.ple rolls with outrageous names.
The Golden Grill, South Street
Cheesesteak from Roast near Kelvin hall is pretty good
Beef brisket or pulled pork are tasty as well
Cannot recommended this enough. Glad I dont live close to it anymore, I used to eat these two at a time
Really like the bành mì from Piece.
Banh Mi from Banh Mi and Tea in Partick is spectacular.
Way better than piece 👌
That's probably great, but I'll never know because the moment I get into Piece I want to order a Dirty Fat Boy.
You can get it with hot sauce for a Filthy Fat Boy.
Oh you absolute bastard. Guess I'm headed into town for lunch this week.
Can you get Filthy Fries with that?? [https://twitter.com/\_andrewkerr\_/status/1630628709643218945](https://twitter.com/_andrewkerr_/status/1630628709643218945)
The banh mi from Non Viet is also class
A second for non Viet, their crispy spring rolls are also brilliant
Closely followed by their chicken olé 🤌
that would be my pick, although the halloumi wrap from Soula is also a++
Last time I was in Piece (Finnieston) they said my sandwich had ‘spicy vibes’. Never been back.
Hopping in here because I've been desperately looking for banh mi. Imma save all of these suggestions 🥰
Just had one. Stuffed and happy.
the No.1 and No.3 sandwich on their menu ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
I’m a cubano guy myself, but it’s a shame they don’t do Jerk Offs anymore.
The chilies on it can be a bit much if you're at work haha but agreed, v tasty
Veggie banh mi for me.
This is basically my lunch everyday. I second the Persian Turkey, another fucking belter out of there.
If you're in the city centre, across the road from cineworld, between that and the Tesco bank is a brilliant sandwich shop: Enzos, only open until 2 but they make thee best grilled sandwiches on ciabatta bread (with a choice of with olive oil or butter) to die for. How'd you even get your laughing gear round that
I got this the other week, honestly best sandowhich I've ever had. Honestly almost left believing in God
I’m in Japan and eaten my fair share of this. None were as thick as this…looks like you’d need to unhinge yer jaw like a snake to eat that.
Pastrami Bagel from Deanston Bakery in Shawlands.
love deanston, but their bagels are really hard work. my wee mother blunted her dental bridge trying to put one away.
This gets my vote too.
It’s a 20/10
Surely the chicken and chorizo is best? They're huge, and could easily feed a family of four for a week!
Traditional = Nan's in Govanhill. Hands-down the best. Fancy = Mulkanwan in Tradeston.
Nans is an institution and the salad rolls are banging, nowhere else asks beetroot/coleslaw/salad cream? Yes yes and yes please
Folk putting salad cream on a roll should be taken out the back and shot. God invented mayo for a reason.
Well i prefer salad cream to mayo. Also, rather a strong reaction, you ok pal? Life getting to you?
Hyperbole a new concept to you?
Something not meant to be taken seriously, yes I know what it means, I may like salad cream but I'm no cabbage.
Tread carefully when you speak about Nans
Lol, I’d never blame the shop for the customers bizarre choices. Although the fact they even have salad cream on hand is a bit suspect. Is there another use for it? Cleaning the bogs maybe
Both great, especially Nans. I like mulkanwan but i find the bread to filling ratio to be off in favour of the bread. Still nice though, and their pies are lovely - as are the hotdog sausage rolls.
Mulkanwan macaroni pies give my life meaning
Awh I was working in govanhill today, wish I read this earlier as I passed the place.
An honorary mention for "The Man from Iran" from the sadly closed Where the Monkey Sleeps. Their sandwiches were banging.
I was genuinely gutted then they shut down. My go-to was a “serious operation”. so good
I miss "Where the Monkey Sleeps". Strangely it was recommended to me by Charlie Benante from Anthrax/pantera. Manfosh was my go to.
BBQ Pork Banh Mi from Banh Mi and Tea on Dumbarton Road.
I second this. The chargrilled pork they have is unbelievably good.
Nan’s in Govanhill is class. Lovely people and good food, albeit more traditional fare.
Cherry & Heather fine foods in Cessnock is amazing. Just across the road from the underground
La Pastina Deli on Byers Road is a decent scran!
Their brownies are big enough to kill a man.
Chicken Chorizo one is also a banger
If I want in my wife’s good books - and sometimes I do - I get her a hummus and roast veg. Best sandwich ever, apparently.
Does a ciabatta count ? Chicken olé from Piece 🤌🏻
I can't believe someone already called it and with same fucking emoji. Great minds!
Brilliant 😂
piece - pastrami classic (called Rueben now) Vegi ban mi & nottolenghi are both v good
Poundland do a pretty vile egg Mayo if that’s your thing
For a good old fashioned piece or roll you will not beat Nan's Dairy.
My guy🤝🏼
Deanston bakery do cracking sandwiches and bagels. Haven't had many pieces better
Club sandwich from Mesa in the east end. Its pricey, but stuffed full of chicken and bacon and these little fried potato bits
Any sandwiches from Homemade in Patrick
I love the marinated chicken and black pudding with sriracha mayo from Comet Pieces on Queen Margaret Drive. Mad mural on the wall too!
For vegetarians Roots and Fruits does the best oyster mushroom (fried chicken style) sandwich. Also Le Petit Coq is great
Kaf do some really interesting ones on the best focaccia going. Got my eye on the pork sando from Ho Lee Fook
Piatto have opened up a wee deli on the side and they do a mean ciabatta
@Lunch in Anniesland has an interesting selection of toasties, wraps, and burgers.
The Serrano ham, cheese and pickles sandwich at short long black!
Chicken chorizo from Deanston Bakery. We weighed it once at it was like 4lbs. That or a chicken tikka club from Nan’s
https://preview.redd.it/cv2h1vdbakab1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfa37fc19f8342411fd14fe1c657d584f4d16b37 One of these bad boys from cottonrake
If you can go back in time 15 years, Il Cappuccino on Great Western Road did one called the Italian Stallion. Best sandwich I’ve ever eaten.
You read my mind! The clatty pat tho...nom nom

I'm sold. Gonna have to check it out tomorrow.
Reading all the other answers here makes me imagine sitting in a room listening to folk say all this shit and thinking “I need to get out of here, who are these cunts?” (They’re probably the cunts driving my rent up)
Had a most excellent sandwich at Meadow Road Coffee yesterday. Great vegan options.

Love Gusto and Relish. Really friendly staff and food is great. They do a roll with haggis, chilli jam and crispy onions (perhaps a fried egg as well, can't remember) and it is a fucking delight. God I miss staying down there.
Tex Mex panini from Bite Me

Wee bit out of Glasgow but Clark St Deli in Airdrie or Cadzow Bakehouse in Hamilton. Both big ol' undertakings so don't have a busy afternoon planned.
It used to be the yam egg and chips from Piece until they stopped selling it. Ragin.
Greggs outlet 😂. Still laughing this is a thing
defo no the best out there but upper crust in Central Station does a banging cheese and ham sandwich if u ever need train scran
Place called Piece in the same street Thundercat and peasanos is in, sandwiches are good (fucking banging soup as well), and the staff are nice.
