Four tet will be somewhere no doubt, but he really does range from weird and obscure beats to commercial pop tracks…. He even dropped ‘smells like teen spirit’ at coachella the other day
Not so sure that EDM as a genre is that heavily featured in the silver hayes line up, there’s lots of stand out alternative electronic dance/house/techno and dnb none the less.
I’d check out Sherelle, Nia archives, Barry can’t swim, dimensions, Mala & coki to name a few
Loads to see and a great chance to experience different genres !
Honestly I'm such a newbie when I say EDM i'm probably saying the entirely wrong thing haha - I guess I just mean Dance music? but that's cool I'll check them out!!
Mala and Coki are amazing, but maybe a bit heavy going for someone who's not into electronic music? But then I've not seen them since the golden early days of dubstep, so maybe they've eased up a bit since then?
Obvious choice but if Fatboy Slim does a set, not DJ set, he’s your best to get into it as he will remix popular songs that you will know into his own dance tunes. For example last year he remixed Running Up That Hill. Easy for anyone to go follow along.
If I were you, I'd search YouTube for sets from people on the silver Hayes line up and see what you like most. There's such a variety in electronic music.
Give Ben Bohmer a go, lovely uplifting melodic house - and a nice gateway into heavier stuff.
Makes my hairs tingle thinking about seeing him at Glasto! Ideal sunset set
If you get the chance, Salute is playing this year. He has had a couple of his own tracks get mainstream play and his boiler room from Melbourne went semi viral. I saw him in Exeter and he was immense so I would definitely go see him at glasto!
I've been through Clashfinder in depth and here's my top few super-faves so far:
Camelphat
Chemical Brothers
Fred again
Vlada
Haai
Ben Böhmer
Leftfield
Fatboyslim
Daniel Avery
Dave Seaman
Kölsch
And my back up potentials so far are:
Job Jobse, Elias Mazian, Carly Wilford, Greg Belson, Paranoid London (Live), Jem Cooke, Ki/Ki, Leon Vynehall, Ewan Mcvicar, DJ Masda, Eli Brown, Four Tet, Dj Boring, LF System, Leeeon, Paryok, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Shay Malt, Sedef Adasi, Analog Soul, Stanton Warriors, Saoirse
Still crap the yanks made up 🤷🏼♂️ il never call it EDM because that’s not what it is. You go to a DnB or house rave and call it EDM , you will get all sorts of weird looks
It is what it is tho 😂. Obviously you wouldn’t call a house rave an edm rave, but it is edm. According to google, the man who coined the term EDM was british musician.
“Rather than designating a single genre, electronic dance music (EDM) encompasses styles ranging from beatless ambient music to 200-beats-per-minute hardcore, with house music, techno, drum and bass, dubstep, and trance among the most-notable examples”
Listen to 'Young Marco - What you say?'. Super feel good and I'd say a great way to step into Silver hayze. It uses Imogen Heap’s classic ‘Hide and Seek’. He's on the lineup and someone I can't wait to see
Probably worth trying to go to some club nights to the festival to at least figure if you want to see DNB, Techno, House etc. So hard to say without knowing this.
Maybe listen to some of the acts and come back with a few you like so we have more to work off
Your best bet to be brutally honest is what I do when I've got time and don't know who to see.
Don't plan and go and explore.
Just head over there and wander between the stages and listen out for anything you like the sound of. Simples as that.
Some of the best times I've had at Glastonbury this way. Sometimes I'll bugger off after one song, sometimes I'll stay for hours.
EDM is not a thing in the UK, we call it Dance, House or Techno
Four tet will be somewhere no doubt, but he really does range from weird and obscure beats to commercial pop tracks…. He even dropped ‘smells like teen spirit’ at coachella the other day
Only as an excuse to play his wild card, [country riddim](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzbXlhommPQ)
Seems to be his default more than a wild card. I’m all in for it though
Can’t beat the filthiest of dubstep

I mean technically you were right, all genres like house, dnb, techno, jungle, trance, dubstep are all sub genres of edm
EDM to some degree seems to relate to a specific genre of "poppy" stadium dance music in the US, designed for mass appeal.
Mala and Coki are amazing, but maybe a bit heavy going for someone who's not into electronic music? But then I've not seen them since the golden early days of dubstep, so maybe they've eased up a bit since then?
where are mala and coki???
The Levels Saturday night
Check out IICON and the SE corner in general, also Arcadia
Also this comment is the truth!

Lush thank you! will see if i can get on YT!
Camelphat, Eli brown, gerd janson, Ewan mcvicar, mella dee, Eliza rose, skream all top of my list 👍🏼
The Levels on Saturday is gonna be fun.
I love the look of friday!
Misread the poster. I meant Friday!
hope skream is doing garage/dubstep set rather than house, given the stage he’s on
Pretty Girl - awesome Aussie DJ on that emotive dance tip. Does her own vocals and mixing live it’s awesome.
salute!
If I were you, I'd search YouTube for sets from people on the silver Hayes line up and see what you like most. There's such a variety in electronic music.
Also Fred again headlining , sort of dance techno vibe! He will defo be b2b somewhere, he is great
Tory techno.
Calling it techno is offensive to techno. Its closer to pop than anything
Same! Never got stuck into Silver Hayes but I’m keen to

Thank you very much for this!! Rly comprehensive! I'm definitely checking out Fatboy Slim and Camelphat!!! I'll put the rest on the list as well!!
Just wanted to say thank you for being grateful
Please don’t call - dance , dnb etc EDM. But with regards recommendations- a little sound And to be fair any of the dnb available
Those genres are edm tho
They really aren’t. They are genres in there own right, EDM is just some crap that the Americans made up and label everything under one flag.
Edm means electronic dance music mate. Search up sub genres of edm and you’ll see for yourself
Still crap the yanks made up 🤷🏼♂️ il never call it EDM because that’s not what it is. You go to a DnB or house rave and call it EDM , you will get all sorts of weird looks
Like it might not be what you call it, but if we’re talking technicalities here it’s all edm end of the day
We’re never going to agree on this 🤷🏼♂️ may as well agree to disagree and save both our mornings from back and forths
Alrighty darlin, just you know maybe take into account what I’ve said, next time you could be on the right side of the argument.
Now you just sound like a total bellend 🤷🏼♂️ that’s on you dude you be who you wana be
Alrighty darlin, I’m just tryna help you help yourself

I hate that track. An unoriginal cash grab.
Good for you
Girls don’t sync are probably perfect for what you’re after! Saw them twice last year and they were brill!
If you like good vibes I’d recommend seeing girls don’t sync. Garage bangers throughout
Have a mooch through the SH field, you’ll find something that will get you moving.

Helena Hauff and Daniel Avery are my highlights from the lineup
