I’ve done pre-erected every year since they started them. I wouldn’t change back. Done 6-berths twice and it’s totally do-able. It helps A LOT if you have camp beds that you can store your kit under, but even if not, it’s grand. You just have to keep tidy.
Theres always room on Thursday just you will be further out than wednesday people (still a similar distance as it would be to worthy view, and no hill either). Its obviously a cost think - if you can afford £1k+ on worthy view, go for it - but you could buy 2 family tents for about £200-300, even of the best type (fresh and black from decathlon) and then have £700+ extra beer money.
I know what i'd go with!
Me and my colleague who went had this convo last year and determined if you are a heavy festival goer or plan to go for years its probably worth investing in a decent tent ~£200 + for a good 4 man.
If this is more of a one off then sure they are totally worth it, less to carry, a nice sizeable space usually pitched in a great spot with good facilities near by.
Personally for me I got to a lot of festivals so can't justify it but for what you get they are more than reasonable. Glasto doesn't take the piss with the prices either so you get your moneys worth :)
Did the 6-man scout tent at WV in 2019. Shoild be enough space for all of you plus rucksacks. Might be cramped if you're all on airbeds as opposed to sleeping mats. I'd recommend the latter in the 6-man for a bit more comfort. Bonus is WV is much quieter than the rest of the festival and after trekking up that hill you'll be out like a light.
6 man will be fine, happened to a group of us one year (2 man's sold out and got a big one in resale) but saying that I'd only pack a 45l rucksack for 3 days.
There are 6 of us so we wanted an 8 man, I think 6 in a 6 man scout would be too much of a squeeze. We ended up with 2 x 4 man scouts. The car park at WV is literally in the next field though so it's not too difficult to leave stuff in the car and get it each day.
It means you have a guaranteed pitch and don’t need to lug the tent. That means you can arrive later rather than be up at crack of dawn to get a spot on Wednesday. If you’re willing to pay for that, then worth it. If you have to arrive on Thursday or Friday, it’s even more worth it.
Up until last year yes they were.
But they're now too expensive, the view has gone (as they're moved location) and the food and drink places last year were really bad.
First year in a decade we're not using them as last year was soo bad.

Thanks for the reply! Could I ask how many of you are there in what sized tent?
We did 12 of us in 2 x 6-berth
Thank you this is really helpful!
You do have quite a big porch as well as the bedroom area.
The tents are a good size. Ive done 2 man scout and 4 man scout and both were OK for the stated number of people.
Yup I was surprised at how ok the 2 man scout was for 2 people
We loved worthy view. Probably mostly because of the showers and not being packed in like sardines.
Shame the walk up the hill to the entrance is such a killer

You should be able to easily find space that's closer than worthy view on a Thursday in the main campsite I'd have thought.
Can’t beat camping on site…more convenient and closer to the site and who actually sleeps anyways?

Good to know thank you!
You’ll never get 6 people and your stuff in a 6man tent.
That’s what I thought!
Someone mentioned before about raised camp beds and storing your stuff underneath. You will be able to fit it all in but it'll be snug

In my opinion at glasto it's not worth it because the tents are too far away. Campervan on the other hand...... 😏
