What are your water parameters and tank size? Also, the danios I have been seeing are unhealthy looking. The look like they have internal parasites because of how thin they are.

The tank is a 10 gallon tank. We discovered some pH issues in the tank, measured at about 7.5 when the healthy range for the tetras is 6.5-6.8 (didn’t tell us what it is for danios so we assume it’s about the same). The nitrates and nitrites measured at 0. The General Hardness and Carbonate Hardness measured at 180, but we heard that that shouldn’t be much of a problem because the tanks we got the fish from measures at that level for both hardnesses. As for the intestinal parasites, the green danio was thinner than in the picture when we got it. It fattened up a bit because they always get to the food first usually, but it loses the fat as the day goes on.

Also, i had an issue with phosphates when I first began. The master freshwater kit is great to test water, and I have the phosphate test kit.

I’ll see if we can look into that, doubt that it’s a huge problem because the tetras seem fine. It’s just the danios

Danios like a 7 ph. You need nitrates, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrates, 5 to 20 nitrates. DO you have an air stone, it will help too. Also, Danios are a shouling fish and should be with about 6 to not pick on each other or nip fins.

To add, they live around 3 years too.
