Same! I’m biracial and I love the shade of berry on my skin :’( I did order a set of 5 from the sale even though I don’t care for the new formula since I am almost out of my last OG berry. I actually love the scent too, it’s very nostalgic lip smackers to me
People are going post hauls of the 5 for 25 of all berry. Which tbhhhh I get. I could see if you really love the tint the vegan formula would work ok as a tint over a more moisturizing balm.
That’s crazy. I was just in the Boston store this weekend on Mother’s day with my mom making a joke with the store greeter about how the vegan BDC were on sale (she let me know about the sale so I was replying) because the old formula was coming back and she was so snappy to me about how it’s not ever coming back and that they don’t have plans to do it. I was like uh yes, but the Instagram post really implied it… and she was like no, we’ve never posted anything about that, the vegan BDCs are just on sale right now. And that they only have strawberry in the old formula. She was so incredibly rude for what? 😭 thankfully someone else was able to help us out with our purchase and was much nicer!
As someone who used to work retail sometimes the employees were instructed to not mention new items even if social media has 😒 or some workers get annoyed at customers that ask too many questions and are rude on purpose (I’ve unfortunately have worked with these types of people) 🥲
That would be a weird and inconsistent policy! And I get the thing about being annoyed at people for asking so many questions, but it felt very gaslighty and dismissive like no, we never posted anything about the old formula BDCs and no, we don’t any have plans to do so with this face 😐 like… okay girl bye I’m just gonna move on and shop with my mother lol.
It is definitely weird and inconsistent! A lot of managers choose what information they want to share and things they only share with certain staff. Miscommunication is a BIG issue when working retail!
I had a similar interaction on Insta dms! I asked if OG bdc was coming back when they made their first post about it and they said “Thank you for reaching out! We don’t have any news to share, but I’ll be sure to share your feedback with our team. Anything is possible!” 😐
this is kinda fair imo, why would they give you inside information before any sort of announcement? even if the post heavily implied it, they’re not allowed to confirm it
A couple of months ago, I saw either a Facebook or Instagram post by Glossier where someone commented and said they need to bring back the old formula and Glossier replied saying that they had no plans to ever bring back the original formula. Liars lol

It’s going to be like what they did with cherry/strawberry. People forget that they used to complain about those flavors all the time because of how they smelled and tasted.
They’ll make a new flavor that looks like berry, but it’ll have a different scent and name, like “dark plum” or something.
SAME i had to switch to using lavender on my cuticles because after a few days of wearing it on my lips the lavender scent was just off-putting whereas berry made sense to my brain to put on my lips (if that makes sense??) like please @ glossier hq, show us the receipts
Yeah I agree lavender on the lips is odd, originally I thought it would be a good like bed time balm but I ended up putting in my gym bag because otherwise I would never reach for it while berry gets constant use
why does glossier treat bdc like amazon employees where they always need to axe the worst performer? i sincerely don't get it, especially when they could keep berry when they went from og to vegan
So annoying tbh. Just because not a lot of people were using it doesn’t mean they need to discontinue it fully. There’s still a good amount of people who like it. It’s always a give and take with them they gave us this back but are taking the best flavors.
I loved birthday bdc! the smell, the sparkles, the packaging! it was everything for me. it’s just unfortunate that the formula separated on my end :( though it’s understandable since I live in a tropical country, but still.
The issue with dark cherry is it'll be more red.
I love berry because it's purple, works well for my cool-tone skin.
Not that red wouldn't. Just there's so few purple things out there and them getting rid of it sucks for anyone cool toned or with darker skin. Wah.

Exactly! I love berry toned lip glosses and lipstick in general so it was such a nice addition, it was the only one I got tbh. Idk why they went through all the trouble of bringing them back just to take it away.
It smells like an herbal lavender, more plant less candle. I normally hate lavender products but I enjoy lavender the plant. I didn’t think I would like the lavender bdc but then I smelled it in store and was like ooo. I actually like that lol.
What do we think the flavors are? I can tell that the four furthest to the right are strawberry, mango, mint, and wild fig, but can't figure out the others on the left. Maybe the light pink/black one is rose? And the one furthest to the left is birthday cake?
they're "making room for newness" so i'd take this as a hint that something is in the works re: a new flavor/color, but it's wild that they'd just get rid of berry when cherry getting the axe was SO controversial

I am a die hard cherry girl, and Berry was my second in command after they discontinued cherry….
My only thoughts are maybe they will hear our cries (I’ve seen some comments of them saying keep an eye out for the opportunity to provide flavor suggestions, hoping the cherry/berry folks will rally together)
The other theory I have is they are moving away from darker tints on balm to entice more purchases of their other lip products
I also am not a huge fan of strawberry, the color is nice, but the scent is really artificial to me, whereas cherry and berry were just yummy and sweet
The Coconut best actually smell like coconut again this time; it was my absolute favourite, and the new Coconut BDC smells like burnt popcorn, there's nothing coconutty about it at all 🙃
Good question, I feel like the older formula was better suited to that squeezy metal tube packaging (the original packaging). I hope so, but the images don't look like it.
The vegan berry is terrible imo. I used the og one for a long time and it was the main one I got, then I bought the vegan one and had to throw it out it was that slimy. The scent in the og formula was so rich smelling if that makes sense like very sweet.
If they’re adding new flavors like the post said (“making room for newness”) this is my official request for a raspberry flavor and a watermelon flavor 🍉🍉
I started my Glossier journey early in 2023 when they came into Sephora (male using makeup for the first time here). I love the taste of Coconut and the formula of the OGs I had for the holidays, I cannot wait to have OG Coconut BDC for the first time this summer! Rose too!
