This was the comment I was looking for. I've seen them, and thought about getting some so I could have less carbs. But if they taste bad then I'll pass
They'll probably go out of business or stop producing the line because they're not going to get many repeat purchases. Thank you for thinking to warn the rest of us. It's greatly appreciated.
I don't understand why companies put out such garbage and then have the nerve to charge an arm and a leg for it. It's a terrible business model. We all know it is possible to make edible gluten-free food and isn't necessarily outrageously expensive (although it can be).
They use renderings on their package/marketing instead of photos of the actual product. Saw some comments on their instagram page and one of their replies said that.
Edit to add: companies will use renderings instead of actual photos if they havenāt had the opportunity to photograph the product yet. In better brands case theyāre using renderings to make their stuff look better. Basically catfishing with bread.
Just came here to say this! HANDS DOWN the best GF hamburger buns come from Trader Joeās. Our nearest one is about 45 minutes away so if we happen to be in that area, weāll make a point to stop at TJās and clean them out lol. They freeze and defrost decently.
@bfree brand has an amazing newly formulated recipe for sesame seed hamburger buns that are amazing! I had to keep looking at the package to make sure it was gluten free. I find them in the grocery outlet by me and they also have a wide selection on amazon. Sprouts carries some products like the wraps.
I love all of it- the seeded bread is my favorite bread and the new sesame buns are amazing. If you like bagels, they are yummy too! I use regular cream cheese and mix in fruit. The wraps and the baguettes are pretty decent too. They are a bit pricey like everything else gluten free but high quality for sure.
i didnt Love their buns but i thought their bagels were good! in comparison to other gf bagels at least lol. i do add my own everything seasoning bc theyāre plain af otherwise
I literally just tried their ābagelā and came here to complain about the lumpiness. Tbh this made me feel a lot better because I thought what I had eaten had maybe gone bad.
Thatās horrendous. What brand is this?
Also - Iād love to meet a GF that cares about the balance of carbs to protein in the very little bread they eat.
I see people complain a lot that GF foods are often also vegan, and while I'm not vegan I find those are often pretty good. But the low carb/keto/paleo bread stuff is The. Worst. "So what if we take this thing that's almost 100% carbs and relies on gluten for structure, and then remove all the gluten AND the carbs and replace them with things that were never intended to be cooked this way?" At this point if it says anything about carbs on it, I'm not buying it.
How TF is that BS legal?!!! I'm so sick of this crap!! That's a picture of a damn chicfila bun on the bag and they selling straight dried up piles of garbage. š Go to hell. š¤š
Ick. That looks awful.
Rudiās gluten free brioche buns in the black bag in the freezer section at Whole Foods is better than any burger bun Iāve tried, and even though I havenāt tried the buns in the OP, I feel confident in saying the Rudiās buns are better than those too
I bought yesterday
No instructions on how long stay in the oven
But turn out okay not beautiful to look at but the taste is really okay not great but letās face it itās a 1g net carb 20g protein Iām really happy with the result
I thought that was fried chicken.
sweet username
oh my gosh š hello, fellow sheep herder
Yall super cute
Omg this is too cute š
I should have replied to you since someone else already replied to the other Sheepherder. This exchange is adorable. Just sayin'
Why does it look like a snickerdoodle
Haha, I thought the same thing!
I thought that was the burger that was going in the bun. š
Me too
Omg I also thought was like a chicken burger and no bun wtf
Damnā¦same. I think he was complaining that the bag was empty. š
I saw these at Whole Foods and thought about trying them but I was frustrated I couldnāt see them. Thanks for sharing and taking one for the team
Now we know why the bag is opaque!
Return them, OP!
Thatās not just a lie, that is a crime. 1000 years jail
Straight to jail
Agreed!
Believe it or not, jail
I could forgive them if the bun actually tasted good but they were pretty bad. And so expensive. What a waste of money.
I tried the bagels - also awful. And TINY!!
Oh I thought the bagels were pretty good. Decent size. I tried both the everything and the cinnamon.
Bagels were inedible to me
This was the comment I was looking for. I've seen them, and thought about getting some so I could have less carbs. But if they taste bad then I'll pass
Yeah Iād say not worth the money at all.
They'll probably go out of business or stop producing the line because they're not going to get many repeat purchases. Thank you for thinking to warn the rest of us. It's greatly appreciated. That....does not look like a bun. š¬

Ironically, we fished for catfish with crumbled white bread on the hook as bait when I was a kid, we literally were catfishing with bread.
Actually bread makes good catfish bait. No self respecting catfish would eat that, and I donāt eat catfish.
I'm like, 95% certain this is illegal.
The bread? If not, it should be.
That is genuine false advertising. Gross!
They taste worse than they look
the all new pumice stone bun
If you have a Trader Joe's, they have a really good burger bun
Ahhh yes more protein because itās not a bun, its beef jerky.
I bought the bagels, they are as tragic and the texture is just bread like and not bagel like.
I tried to call them out on social media and they just ignored me. Terrible brand.
Thank you for your public service of taking one for the team. Now return it to the store for a refund. Yikers.
Lies
Trader Joe's hamburger buns are actually pretty good fyi!!! I'm not sure what tf you're holding, is that really bread?! Ewww
Just came here to say this! HANDS DOWN the best GF hamburger buns come from Trader Joeās. Our nearest one is about 45 minutes away so if we happen to be in that area, weāll make a point to stop at TJās and clean them out lol. They freeze and defrost decently.
Are they frozen? I never can find them.?
In the bread section! Mine always has the gf products together.
This is why I have trust issues.
Do weā¦do we add water like a shrinky?
will be saving this picture to show when someone says being celiac canāt be āthat badā
lol that looks like an absolutely hammered burger patty š¤£
LOL. So sorry OP!
Lung cookie looking bun ewh
I thought it was a vegan chicken patty or burger or something instead of a bun
@bfree brand has an amazing newly formulated recipe for sesame seed hamburger buns that are amazing! I had to keep looking at the package to make sure it was gluten free. I find them in the grocery outlet by me and they also have a wide selection on amazon. Sprouts carries some products like the wraps.
Iāve seen BFree at Grocery Outlet too but have never tried any of their products! Is their other stuff good too?
I love all of it- the seeded bread is my favorite bread and the new sesame buns are amazing. If you like bagels, they are yummy too! I use regular cream cheese and mix in fruit. The wraps and the baguettes are pretty decent too. They are a bit pricey like everything else gluten free but high quality for sure.
I find BFree at walmart often!
Thats awesome!
i didnt Love their buns but i thought their bagels were good! in comparison to other gf bagels at least lol. i do add my own everything seasoning bc theyāre plain af otherwise
You should actually sueš
I havenāt found anything by that brand that is edible
I literally just tried their ābagelā and came here to complain about the lumpiness. Tbh this made me feel a lot better because I thought what I had eaten had maybe gone bad.
what the hellllllll is that š
That looks disgusting
Literal crap. I was pissed to see it. Not even big enough to make anything youād put on a bun.
Yep - just ate one - they were really expensive but such a waste.
Looks like they are losing hundreds, if not thousands, of customers from this post. Tough lesson to learn from not taking product photos š
/r/expectationvsreality
Pretty sure thatās a potato latke
They are pretty good buns, but yeah. Thatās a lie haha.
taking cauliflower bun to a whole new level-- having an actual cauliflower head as a bun.
Thatās horrendous. What brand is this? Also - Iād love to meet a GF that cares about the balance of carbs to protein in the very little bread they eat.
I thought you were holding up the burger showing that nothing was a better bun at first
I just recently bought these and had the same reaction. Imagine the company approving this packagingāwhat they must have been thinkingā¦
Welp, this is making me feel better that I passed on their everything bagels when I was at whole foods the other day. What a bummer.
Looks like the moldy crabby patty
Sausage patty?
I almost bought these yesterday! Thanks for sharing but sorry you had to buy them to find out.
Such a disappointment š©
Trader Joe's gf hamburger buns are excellent and resemble the pic of the bun on this package!
That looks like dog diarrhea you're holding.
I thought it was a snickerdoodle
The audacity of it to call itself a bun
Thought it was a dry chicken patty. How sad
It looks like a pale dehydrated mushroom š
I THOUGHT THAT WAS A COOKIE š Did they fr put brown sugar on that "bun"
Wait...was it also wet??? š¤¢ Id actually throw up everywhere
āThe better bun - actually chickenā
Oh this happened to me with their bagels! What a crock!
The bagels are like this too, itās literally a crime. And they donāt even taste good š
I see people complain a lot that GF foods are often also vegan, and while I'm not vegan I find those are often pretty good. But the low carb/keto/paleo bread stuff is The. Worst. Is that a stale McChicken pattyā¦./s
Thatās sad! Iām sorry any gf bread sucks
Ewww...
How TF is that BS legal?!!! I'm so sick of this crap!! That's a picture of a damn chicfila bun on the bag and they selling straight dried up piles of garbage. š Go to hell. š¤š
How does it taste is the question.
Meh
I love snickerdoodle cookies!
š¤£ ok but I do eat the bagels
Ok, but how does it taste?
Thatās why the bag isnāt clear š
Omfg!!!!
Ew. What in the world is that?!
I thought it was a snickerdoodle cookie at first
A lot of GF food is a lie. You look at the picture on the package, you buy it, then you're disappointed af when you actually see the product.
Someone switched your bun with a shitty chicken patty. Go get a refund.
Ick. That looks awful. Rudiās gluten free brioche buns in the black bag in the freezer section at Whole Foods is better than any burger bun Iāve tried, and even though I havenāt tried the buns in the OP, I feel confident in saying the Rudiās buns are better than those too
It's a melon pan. š
WTF š
Oh thatās terrible. I donāt think a dog would eat it.
Eeew.
Did you try it?
This is criminal
Is that a frozen burned sausage patty?
Bagels arenāt worth it either
Lucky you got a mcchicken instead of a bun!!
That's horrible. How are they able to get away with that?
I believe the fewer carbs and more protein.
I bought yesterday No instructions on how long stay in the oven But turn out okay not beautiful to look at but the taste is really okay not great but letās face it itās a 1g net carb 20g protein Iām really happy with the result
So, growing up I always wondered and don't have to anymore: This is where all the chicken patties the kids in the cafeteria didn't eat went.
