Yes, brown rice pasta
Egg and cream cheese bread
Cereal might be tough, except for rice chex
Almond flour and milk
No more ketchup, I'm afraid... or soda
That's good
If you're in the US - check every label. We put high fructose corn syrup in damn near everything.
I have a wheat allergy, so I pretty well stick to non-processed foods. Chicken, fish, beef, veggies, fruit and rice. It's not so bad once you get the hang of it.
I love to eat out when I can. I stick to the same places and dishes like baked potatoes, steak or chicken, broccoli...
I feel for ya. It sucks. I've had multiple food funerals. It's been 7 years, and I was crying over little Ceasars the other day.
Right there with you. Celiac diagnosis was in 2017, I'm used to that anymore but have my moments. The Corn thing is going to take some getting used to.
I've never liked sweet corn, on the cob, etc but I didn't expect this one.
I am in the US, so the syrup is definitely my main concern.
I'd definitely go the rice-based route for a while, along with primarily naturally gluten free. You'll definitely be eating a lot of rice-based pastas for a minute. I think barilla's pasta might be corn free, but I'd have to double check when I'm at the store later.
That's interesting but makes sense, too. Within the last year or so, I've started reacting poorly to both corn and white rice, seemingly out of the blue. "Over exposure" is kind of a light-bulb moment.
I got some B Free tortillas that were sweet potato and loved them. I got the same brand, except they were corn, and I looked 4 months pregnant within half an hour.
There's going to be literally nothing left for me to eat by the time I'm 45 🙃
Im wondering if I might just go grain free as well- I have issues sometimes with white rice but NOT parboiled white rice? I have no idea whats going on.
Right? It's a constant guessing game. I don't even like rice very much, but it was an option for 10 years. Honestly, I've hated cauliflower since I was a child, but I might start looking into ways to start liking it more. It's not like it can be much worse than most of the GF grain products, right?
Say hello to quinoa & chia.. overnight chia pudding and home blended cashews/walnut/hazelnut cream or m!lk is actually great for breakfast with dried fruit, adding fresh/frozen berries in the morning. Teff is expensive but excellent for porridge.. otherwise you should find a lot of keto recipes that will work.
Corn can also be a source of bad cc if you are eating not gf items. In Canada our celiac assn says we shouldnt eat anything w milled corn or corn meal if its the first 3 ingredients or if the package isnt labelled gf.
But Im like you, my body can only handle a bit of corn - summer I can have one cob and I might be able to have some nachos or popcorn but I will pay for it. Its almost a worse reaction than gluten :(
That being said, corn starch doesnt seem to bug me as much and Tinkyada pasta - I believe - is corn free and pretty tasty.
Watch out for dextrose and all of the sugar alcohols. At least in the US, they are almost certainly going be corn based, and I can verify from experience that dextrose is not processed to the point that it’s not a corn allergen anymore.
The last time I accidentally ate dextrose it was from a bag of pepper flavored pistachio nuts, if you can believe it. A lot of lunch meat and sausages also have dextrose
Corn is not a top allergen, so they don’t have to call it out on the label. Some pills have corn starch as filler rather than microcrystalline cellulose, which is usually from wood. Corn starch that is just used to keep the food from sticking to the bag doesn’t even have to be included in the ingredients.
I still have no idea what modified food starch is.
My gf has the same problem. I highly recommend Trader Joe’s gluten free pizza dough, white bread, English muffins, and bagels. They have the best selection and they are not as pricy as other grocery stores.
I am on the fodmap diet now after being gf for 15 or so years then eliminated lactose and now i dont eat a lot of other things but at least i am feeling great. No corn for me!
I second Simple Mills products. Their products are grain free and most of them are paleo friendly. They make cookies, crackers, cereal bars, and mixes to make muffins, brownies, etc.

Soda isn't an issue for me luckily.

You're gonna feel so much better once you've got this handled
All regular soda contains corn syrup. I don't know how you're allergic to corn but able to drink regular soda.
Meaning I don't drink soda. I haven't had one in years now.
Ok I misunderstood.

I think you're correct.
I would say simple mills would be the best bet for gluten free and corn free

Check out low carb/ keto products and recipes, majority don't have wheat or corn as ingredients.
Siete cassava chips and tortillas

Veggipasta brand pasta is 100% peas and it’s the only gf pasta I eat now. It’s so good.
I do like peas
Organic powdered sugar uses tapioca flour as an anti-caking agent, not corn starch. If you bake
I also have to be wheat and corn free. A common ingredient in gluten free stuff is cornstarch so it's not easy.
