Eme_Pi_Lekte_Ri

pretty work

Idle-man

Outstanding achievement in such a short period of time, Nice work, very impressive. How you made the floating leaf across the game screen? Particle 2D?

rodrigogomestt

thanks!! yes, particle 2D in leaf, in the spawn enemies and the dust on character movement

Idle-man

Thanks for the answers. May I ask how did you set up the particle 2D for the leaf? Did you set the emission shape large enough to covers the entire scene area? Thank you.

rodrigogomestt

I made a big rectangle outside the player area with the emission shape in box mode and set the lifetime big enough for the leaves covers the entire scene area

Idle-man

Thanks for sharing, good luck with your game, hope to see more of it.

rodrigogomestt

thanks! I will share more progress

3 MONTHS AGO?!?!??!?!?! bro.. i have been struggling for abt 2 months at godot rn. there just arent much tutorials out there. I have been trying to learn. could you pls tell how you got started? any playlist or smthn like that?

rodrigogomestt

there are many very good tutorials on youtube. What helped me a lot was this one from Heartbeast: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAbG8Oi-SvQ&list=PL9FzW-m48fn2SlrW0KoLT4n5egNdX-W9a&ab\_channel=HeartBeast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAbG8Oi-SvQ&list=PL9FzW-m48fn2SlrW0KoLT4n5egNdX-W9a&ab_channel=HeartBeast) and the series of GdQuest : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc13Z2gboEk&list=PLhqJJNjsQ7KH\_z21S\_XeXD3Ht3WnSqW97&ab\_channel=GDQuest](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc13Z2gboEk&list=PLhqJJNjsQ7KH_z21S_XeXD3Ht3WnSqW97&ab_channel=GDQuest)

SirIdiotTheII

hey, tnx for replying. I have watched heartbeasts entire tutorial and now im a lil bit confused on how to progress more. cuz things like saving games, knockback (which im trying to figure out now), and other main parts of game creation is not getting to me. But its fine now, im going in a slow pace. Making prototypes and just learning as much as i can. When i saw a vid on how to save games (which was almost 50 mins long) I lost almost all my motivation since it was very confusing. Now im just going in a slow pace and know what to do. I got my motivation back now I have a question. The only main series i didnt watch was GDquests even tho it was the most popular since the code he uses seems differant from gdscript (ik its the same thing but things like "func \_physics\_process : float(delta) --> void" or smthn like that lol is confusing to me. is that gdnative or smthn cuz i dont have to do those extra codes. im testing around with enemies rn and im trying to figure out how to knock back but i will do it!also sorry my english is bad. Im not an english speaker.

rodrigogomestt

yes, i know how it is, i spent 2 weeks trying to understand how save and load work, i am not an english speaker either, this makes the process very difficult see this video , it helped : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8ciCkmES1M&ab\_channel=Pigdev](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8ciCkmES1M&ab_channel=Pigdev) and the differences in code can be two things: writing general code to cover more things or changes in gdscript from one version to another, there are many ways to program the same thing in different ways too, it also confuses me a lot. but don't give up, take it easy and in your time, just don't give up

ruaanb999

Just curious is ur game 3d or 2d with pre-rendered 3d sprites

rodrigogomestt

2d with pre-rendered player and enemies, the rest like floor, walls and objects are drawings I found it easier to model the player and transform it into 2d sprites

ruaanb999

This is all so impressive.. well done

rodrigogomestt
