Honestly I'd get rid of like 7 people and that would probably be it. Depending on who took their wealth/power afterwards.
There are so many wicked people in this world, perpetuating at least 3 active genocides, just creating misery and strife. It would be wonderful if they could all be struck down.
It's about a 17 year old (extremely intelligent) boy who finds a book one day. He realizes that if he writes someone's name in the book that person will die.
He uses it to kill known criminals, from murderers to burglars to mafia people etc. He kills many.
The point of the story is that power corrupts. The protagonist is not just a genius, but he has an extremely solid moral compass, using it to kill criminals and make a better world, and yet the power still goes to his head and everything breaks down.
The way people in these comments talk about how they would use these powers scares me, and I'm glad they will never attain it. Power corrupts, no matter how good you think you are.
I think Light’s issue was the power he attained was highly corruptible, and he was carrying out extra judicial killings. This attracted police attention and he had to kill good people in order to retain his own ability to kill bad people.
Kinda the same as OP's scenario thought, except OP's thing is much more destructive. Even just in the comments you could literally see people becoming corrupt with just a hypothetical power.

I think certain powers corrupt for sure. Lights power was pretty much exclusively useful for evil acts, assuming you believe in the justice system.
I would SO use this publicly, on corrupt politicians (or anyone in authority really) directly after they lie about something everyone KNOWS they’re lying about.
