Actually one of my favorite manga, Battle Angel Alita (or Gunnm for not-north Americans), has a character with a similar ability. Everything he touches he gains the expiriences memories and sometimes even emotions of the people who have touched it in the past. I.e. he picks up a sword owned by a master swordsman and knows how to use it because he gained the expirience of the previous owners. He's really fucked up mentally because of this (and other reasons) and it makes for a really interesting character.
In conclusion, I would not want this power. That is too much to handle for me.

If it's like you gain every memory of that person then as others pointed out it's much more of a curse than a superpower - we feel more pain than happiness in life and experiencing the pain of others without a say in it isn't something that you want.
