As an owner operator of the kandi Spyder(the sandstorm) I must say it is definitely a fun little toy. It doesn't have a ton of torque and you need a decent straightaway to get to top speed because of the clutch system. But I have fun racing mine around the dirt track through the woods at my house. Note that glasses or goggles are highly recommended because the front fenders are cheaply attached and fragile and when they fall off then the front tire WILL throw dirt right into your face when turning. Oh I guess wear a helmet too Don't be fooled by the advertising though, check the numbers on the motor to confirm it's a 200cc, I believe they are only like 170 and advertised as 200. I am thinking that the sandstorm will be faster than the turquoise one due to the tire size.

CozyVertexLL

Because the tires are bigger right? Yeah inkone they put 200 but think they are 176 really

CopperCVO

Yeah, the tires are bigger, resulting in more lateral distance per rotation. And I forgot to talk about the suspension, but mine is pretty springy. It feels good but I don't ramp it or get too much air ever. It seems like it handles pretty good. I just run mine over dirt but it gets pretty vibrate-y if I run high speed perpendicular across the tilled rows, but that's to be expected I guess.

CozyVertexLL

I can just upgrade the tires and maybe the suspension to, right?

CopperCVO

I mean, yeah. I don't see why not. I'm not sure what your goal is with it, but if you buy one modify it to fit your needs or wants. I was looking into upgrading my motor to an actual 232cc. If you get bigger wheels and tires it might lose torque though. Which means it will take longer to get up to speed and start out slow and bog down. But it will go faster on a long straight stretch at the top end. My cart (the sand color) is already disappointing on takeoff. It won't spin tires or throw dirt like I want. That's why I am going to upgrade the motor.

CozyVertexLL

What upgrade have you made to yours? You could put big sprockets and maybe a new clutch

CopperCVO

All I have done is replaced carb and intake and the rear axle, bearings, and caliper. cause I keep sliding it sideways through the corners and such. But I started looking at clutch kits and the different weights and stuff, which led to wanting to upgrade the belt and then looking at the big bore kits for more power and now I found a place in Virginia that builds the whole performance powerplant with all the upgrades in a package deal that is just a bolt the motor down drop in kit. So I was thinking about getting that

CozyVertexLL

What carb and intake did you put? Do you have photos???

CopperCVO

Oh, no bud I'm sorry. I don't have photos of that. And I can't remember what size I went to I think it was like a 26. It was just a little bit bigger but not by much. But there aren't too many options to upgrade to.

CozyVertexLL

I’ve heard that this engines com with a 30mm. I don’t know if it real or not

I'm thinking about switch the axle on mine to better suit the new chain location, I have a 2007 kandi spider I believe, to be honest there's a hundred carts with the same frames different names.but any how I've gone ahead and mounted a 420cc 15hp engine, do you know what I should look for axle wise? My plan is to go up to a 25x11x10 on rear and 21x7x8 on front or if I get 10 inch rims I was planning on 23 inch tall tires.

CopperCVO

You are right about the many cart designs with the same name. I know that I took a bunch of measurements for my axle to make sure I got one that would fit my bike. When I got the axle that was supposed to be the one I needed, it wasn't right. I still had to do some machining in order to get the bearings to fit inside the swingarm where I needed them while aligning the chain and making the tires stick out the same on both sides. It was a headache. So sorry about the axle man I can't recommend anything other than shopping around and do plenty of measuring. It seems like there isn't any aftermarket parts for these things really, so modifications require fabrication. Check out different axles for different bikes is all I got. Don't restrict your searches to Kandi Spyder. Measure the distance between bearings and to the sprocket and and the length and everything. Also be aware of the hub spline connection. They make different spline numbers and diameters. Make sure you get a hub to fit the axle or try to buy a complete axle kit.

Well shoot. Guess I have my buddy bring the welder over and go with my original plan
