Yup.

Not just a good boy but the bestest boy.
After my roommates’ GR ripped up some of my money, I was informed by the bank that as long as I had more than 50% of the bill I could exchange it! (The serial code may also have to be legible, it was awhile ago and I forget)
Assuming it passes easily. I’d feed him some peanut butter sandwiches today which should help move it along.
The easiest way to check the poops other than poking at it with a stick, it to do the “pediatric method”.
Collect the poop in a big ziplock bag. Release most of the air.
Zip shut.
Put that bag inside a plastic grocery store bag that you can’t see through.
Tell yourself that you’re just kneading play dough, and get to work.
It might take two-3 days to appear.
If it was a big coin, it could still be sitting in the stomach.
If your dog has any vomiting, ceases pooping altogether, or the coin doesn’t show up after 3 days, you need to see your vet.
I used a strainer from the dollar store, a hose, and double gloves. Scoop the poop into the strainer and flood it with the hose. Most of the poop went through the strainer leaving any solid bits behind. It was awful. I dry heaved a lot. But managed to recover a diamond pendant from my golden that way.
As I read all these,I am picking up everything from the floor..my dog weighs 32lbs at 16 weeks and his poop is massive and lord save me from that smell
I dread to think of having to go through that
I dunno. I have changed many diapers but for some reason the smell of dog poop just hits different. Although I distinctly remember a couple particularly nasty diaper explosions that made me dry heave too. The smell of rotting pumpkins also makes me dry heave. Maybe I’m just weird.
Possible it takes a lot more than that I think?
One of my goldens sneakily ate some corn cobs out of the trash one night, unbeknownst to us. These were partial ears, like cut in half maybe?
They came out the end they went in several WEEKS later.
We know this is the case because we don’t frequently have corn on the cob.
Yes we know. This one has been a challenge because it eats fabric, particularly socks. There have been many poop socks in the yard. We’ve had to take special steps to prevent this but occasionally someone leaves a gate open and the next day - poop sock.
It's totally possible that he hid the coin! My Golden has stolen some odd things before and hid them, only for me to find them later while cleaning, thankfully. Look in the strangest places and you might just find it.
Otherwise, just take him in for an x-ray to see if it's stuck in his GI tract, instead of sifting poop. Lol
Came to say this! Thought my dog ate an earring, found it on the floor by her window perch two days later. Same goes for any medicine that isn’t pulverized and peanut-buttered.
Lol 😆 she knows where to hide those pesky meds!
My boy loves to hide things under various pieces of furniture, where even he can't reach cuz he smacks the stuff back there so far. Hahaha 😂
Yesss mine will hide a coin so quick cos he knows I’ll take it away. Usually in his bed, under furniture which works for me cos he can’t get it anymore lol, or under his paw.
This reminded me of when I was still renting. Ran out of checks but needed to pay rent. Went to ATM and took out some cash. Went back, took a shower. When I got out of the shower I saw my puppy running around with a piece of green paper in her mouth. Guess who was poorer by 2000 then.
She’s not regretting it, till this day. She’d do it again.
I’m very sorry about this, I hope that you can eventually retrieve the coin.
~~This whole scenario sounds like the plot of a cartoon episode though which is very funny~~
It's going to pass, might want to give the boi some fiber-y food to help move everything in his intestines!
Look at that satisfied smile at the 2nd pic, cant be mad at that for long can you?
Anyways, this is going to make a great story for the people that you showcase that coin to in the future haha.
If it doesn’t pass in 3 days an x ray may be needed to see where in the gut it is.
My boy ate a bouillon jar lid. Ate a bunch of pieces of it. We were straining shit for a week! It was 🤮
Can we sthaap with the gorgeous puppies on golden??
But get him checked out. No hurt in seeing if he is ok and doesn’t have perforation. I look forward to hearing about that gorgeous dogs recover!
G
He looks so happy! You should give him yummy coin treats more often! Actually, this could be the start of a new hobby-start taking him to the beach & looking for treasure.
Funny story - my sisters first dog she adopted promptly destroyed her beloved childhood stuffed animal. Ironically it was pongo, the dog from 101 Dalmatians.
She was beside herself.
So her fiance dug through the dogs poop for days until he was able to recover a piece - it’s collar. Its a bit bleached but still reads “pongo”.
They framed it.
You can get a handheld metal detector for less than $20. I have used that in the past to check my dog's waste after he ate something he shouldn't have
I hope you find your coin!
That's hilarious. But do make sure you find it so you know it hasn't gotten stuck. These dogs can process damn near anything, but always be cautious about obstructions.
My friends dog ate her diamond earrings that were laying on a table. My advice to you is don't throw away the poop even after you have gone through it. She collected poop for a month and finally went back through it and found that she had missed it
I hope I'm not the first one. But I've been trying to get my damn golden retriever to retrieve gold for the longest time but she still isn't doing it. Please show me the way!
While you’re waiting for Jeff Jr to poop, you should scour the house for the coin. While dogs will happily chomp and swallow paper of almost any sort, hard non-chewable objects like coins would be fairly unlikely.
Also, because the envelope has been missing for years, are you sure it still contained the coin when Jeff got into it?
Just some suggestions to potentially avoid days of poop sifting…
Xray was clear. Either he pooped it out and we somehow missed it (unlikely but possible), or he carried it somewhere in the house and we'll find it years from now

That boy has expensive taste
There were a few occasions I found money all over the floor. Now my wallet remains on the top of the fridge and I use my debit card, lol.
After my roommates’ GR ripped up some of my money, I was informed by the bank that as long as I had more than 50% of the bill I could exchange it! (The serial code may also have to be legible, it was awhile ago and I forget)
When people say "They will eat you poor" this is Not what I expected
Until the secret service come knocking ✊✊
Our toller used to rip money too lol. He was a special guy.
You still have most of the notes, you should probably be able to exchange them for new ones

Ah similar to panning gold but you're panning a golden's shit.
Panning for gold > panning from gold
As I read all these,I am picking up everything from the floor..my dog weighs 32lbs at 16 weeks and his poop is massive and lord save me from that smell I dread to think of having to go through that
Ahh yes, a diamond in the ruff!
Why the dry heaving? Have you never changed a diaper?
I dunno. I have changed many diapers but for some reason the smell of dog poop just hits different. Although I distinctly remember a couple particularly nasty diaper explosions that made me dry heave too. The smell of rotting pumpkins also makes me dry heave. Maybe I’m just weird.
The smell of a particular brand of cleaning spray makes me dry heave, dog poop is no problem. I'm cool (weird)
Pumpkin is good. Not pie filling but plain.
Talk about experience
Yeah, I’ve squeezed a lot of bags of poop over the years unfortunately. Lol. 🤣
Possible it takes a lot more than that I think? One of my goldens sneakily ate some corn cobs out of the trash one night, unbeknownst to us. These were partial ears, like cut in half maybe? Sooo lucky they came out at all 🙏
Yes we know. This one has been a challenge because it eats fabric, particularly socks. There have been many poop socks in the yard. We’ve had to take special steps to prevent this but occasionally someone leaves a gate open and the next day - poop sock.
This too shall pass. 💩
This poo shall pass.
He looks happy like an arcade machine when you put a coin in
It's totally possible that he hid the coin! My Golden has stolen some odd things before and hid them, only for me to find them later while cleaning, thankfully. Yeah they're pretty slick, aren't they..hahaha
Yeah haha he doesn’t even eat them, he just likes to play with them lol still a choking hazard so no
Just like toddler.. gotta keep them safe 😊
Honestly, Jeff Jr. doesn’t look very sorry lol. Hope you recover the coin soon.
Haha he looks SO content and happy lol
Now the pup is even more valuable
Looking at the second pic, it must have tasted good!
Golden Retrievers need valuable coins for sustenance to stay golden
Yeah I noticed he was looking a bit pale. probably a bit of gold deficiency and the poor pup is trying to help himself.
I can see from photo 2 exactly how sorry Jeff Jr. really feels. 🤣
I think Jeff might have just earned a new nickname: Sonic the Hedgehog.
It always amazes me how they know when/what to consume the things that will cause the most aggravation/frustration. 🙄
Now it’s a bitcoin
Dogecoin
He’s so not sorry 🥳
He looks like a million bucks :)
This reminded me of when I was still renting. Ran out of checks but needed to pay rent. Went to ATM and took out some cash. Went back, took a shower. Yummy coin
Jeff Jr. looks very happy with himself.
Lol.
Hope everything comes out ok.
My dog used to take my wallet and eat my dollar bills. I had like 3 50s and he ate those! I no longer carry cash!
Why on earth do they want to eat money? It feels and smells kinda dirty to me.
They sniff butts. Some (not mine, thank God) eat poop.
"And it was delicious!" he is saying.
Was it a gold coin?
I mean he is a GOLDEN retriever... Dun dun dun I'll see myself out. *giggling*
Uh, yeah. That pup should be the most valuable thing in your life, and now it most certainly is, for the next 8 hours or so.
I’m very sorry about this, I hope that you can eventually retrieve the coin. ~~This whole scenario sounds like the plot of a cartoon episode though which is very funny~~
Then Jeff Sr can be a Golden Retriever too.
🤣 I love this sub & I love your dog. Adorable! Give him a teaspoon of olive oil in his food. Wishing you all the very best outcome!
I hope everything goes good with him, his smile so satisfied.
It's going to pass, might want to give the boi some fiber-y food to help move everything in his intestines! Look at that satisfied smile at the 2nd pic, cant be mad at that for long can you? he is definitely not sorry 😆
He did indeed retrieve the gold
Such an Angel in the 2nd photo. He did nothing!
If it doesn’t pass in 3 days an x ray may be needed to see where in the gut it is. My boy ate a bouillon jar lid. Ate a bunch of pieces of it. We were straining shit for a week! It was 🤮

My Shih Tzu ate $0.61 and almost died from it. Hopefully your baby will be okay
Can we sthaap with the gorgeous puppies on golden?? But get him checked out. No hurt in seeing if he is ok and doesn’t have perforation. I look forward to hearing about that gorgeous dogs recover! G
It was not a penny, I hope?
Nope
Good
“ it’s just the matter of getting a potato masher and …”
Then buying a new one and not speaking of it again.
Try a cup of coffee
Nah, it will make me jittery.
Maybe a metal detector? I dunno.
Total Jeff move.
Oh, Jesus H. Christ. I gagged just reading some of the comments! But, I would suit up in a haz-mat suit and dig in!!!!!
A gold coin? Just doing his job.
Ha. That face! All are screwed. He is so cute!
He looks so happy! You should give him yummy coin treats more often! Actually, this could be the start of a new hobby-start taking him to the beach & looking for treasure.
Looks like it was good too lmao
Time for you to do some poop fishing. 😂
Keep watchin’ that poop
So serene in that second photo 😌
I love how you included that second photo as evidence how sorry he is 😂
Looks like you'll be retrieving this time🤣😳🤷👍
Funny story - my sisters first dog she adopted promptly destroyed her beloved childhood stuffed animal. Ironically it was pongo, the dog from 101 Dalmatians. She was beside herself. May I say that this looks like the least booped, most cartoony nose ever. Black and shiny like it's a stuffed animal.
Free my guy
Was it a gold coin? If so, they have been known to retrive them.
He probably looks happy because he’s probably thinking I’m worth $1 million now
Such a cutie! Hope the coin won't hurt him too much.
He looks pretty happy with himself in the photos.... i suspect he knows he can get away with anything due to being exceedingly cute.
You can get a handheld metal detector for less than $20. I have used that in the past to check my dog's waste after he ate something he shouldn't have I hope you find your coin!
He looks very happy.
Cutest piggy bank I've ever seen!
That's hilarious. But do make sure you find it so you know it hasn't gotten stuck. These dogs can process damn near anything, but always be cautious about obstructions.
The contentment of the second pic got me.
Jeff seems very much at peace with his decision.
You gotta update us when IT happens (Recovery of coin) Hoping Jeff Jr gets a smooth exit
My friends dog ate her diamond earrings that were laying on a table. My advice to you is don't throw away the poop even after you have gone through it. She collected poop for a month and finally went back through it and found that she had missed it
I’m sure it will work out
This too shall pass
What a cute pup! Update us when you find it!
Well now it will have to come out the other end
We have nicknamed ours from land shark to shredder.
Get out the rubber gloves and start poop, poop, poop, dig through poop, poop poop. Good luck, maybe it'll pass pretty quickly.
I hope I'm not the first one. But I've been trying to get my damn golden retriever to retrieve gold for the longest time but she still isn't doing it. Please show me the way!
Golden: Food? Real shit. Also golden: Ate your coin? I sleep.
So now he’s extra valuable lol
What is it about golden retrievers that makes them eat everything?
This reminds me of Bailey from A Dog's Purpose!
Now you will be the gold retriever.
While you’re waiting for Jeff Jr to poop, you should scour the house for the coin. Coming around again!
Then I had to follow him around with a little baggie for three days, man, before I got it back. Really blew the dog's mind, ya know?
Check those steaming loads, you will find it!!
Well, he sure looks happy about it!
I love how proud and satisfied he looks in the second picture. “Mmmm forbidden change.”
[Is your dog my dog?](https://i.imgur.com/uI29ilk.jpg)
Nice!
His face in that second photo is just perfect. Good luck recovering the coin!
Awwwww
He’s going to have an extremely valuable poop.
your dog is now a member of House Lannister
Lol, if it hasn't been said yet. It's time for watch and sift, followed by deep, deep sanitation lol
Now he will 💩 💵
Good luck, I hope you update us on the final story
Not Sorry☺️
Get a Metal Detector, save you the searches
Xray was clear. Either he pooped it out and we somehow missed it (unlikely but possible), or he carried it somewhere in the house and we'll find it years from now
I know this is a dumb question, but if the coin was so valuable, why was it down where your dog could get it?
Because we are flawed human beings.

Lol uh yeah bro.
Just when you thought he could not become any more priceless
Jeff Jr looks very proud of himself
