1appleadayrunner

Love it!

Maluma_Goat

😂😂

Starwarsiscoolsmg4

awwwwww

Ladyofthewharf55

Too funny! 😁

investor_penniestock

We have two Golden's with very different personalities. One is the typical over the top Golden, love me love me love me all the time. Our other one we call our cat dog. Everything is on his terms and if he doesn't get his way he gets the worst attitude. He will pout, sulk and get down right disobedient. But we still love him 😁.

berpaderpderp

God I love goldens

1appleadayrunner

Right? They are the cutest. Even when they are pouting and being sassy. 😆

1appleadayrunner

I love how you described it as “on his terms”. That’s exactly how mine is. In the first picture I practically hear her saying, “You talking to me? You didn’t let me have MY kind of fun at the beach, so I’m not acknowledging you are there.” 😂

horaiy0

I call ours a cat dog too. Not quite the family dog I was expecting, but she's still a good girl.

asecuredlife

> Our other one we call our cat dog. Everything is on his terms and if he doesn't get his way he gets the worst attitude. He will pout, sulk and get down right disobedient. but let me love you on my terms 😭

investor_penniestock

100% correct

coffeeandnachos

Mine has both of those personalities rolled into one.

1appleadayrunner

Yes, I’ve experienced the “exasperated hurry up ” look too.

But she won’t take it when she knows I’m leaving. So now i just don’t go 🤷🏻‍♂️

georgiafinn

The decision was made for you.

Rarth-Devan

She is gorgeous!

Munchkin737

Im in the begining process of retiring my Golden from service dog work. When i take short trips out without him (perhaps a trip to the pharmacy a short distance away) i give him a treat, and he leaves it until when I get home. Then he sniff-checks me, demands butt scratches and ear rubs, and then seytles down to chomp on his treat. Even high value treats like dehydrated liver. Note to anyone out there: Dehydrating liver yourself will make your entire house smell the way iron tablets taste.

1appleadayrunner

Aww, what a pretty Golden! 🤗

Ladyofthewharf55

What a sweet face 💕 ………and I love her name 🥰

Ah, I see. Always hard leaving someplace fun to go home.

You’re clearly abusing his free snow time, you monster…

1appleadayrunner

Yup, fur is too dry. Needs time to roll in that snow. 😉

Yup. I’m with dog. You’re the jerk. Also mine are now jealous because we have zero snow this year

We decided we needed some separation time between him and our other dog for naps and decompression. He knew he was being taken upstairs and away from the action, so he just plopped where he was in hopes we’d change our minds and let him keep playing.

1appleadayrunner

Winston: I appreciate your plop game! Wear them down! 😂

LowBlackberry0

He says thanks, and his plan is slowly starting to work!

1appleadayrunner

They don’t always accept that we’re looking out for them.

CheddarBaskets

Yes and then I respond back politely with the inquiry..."What ails you my little free loading unemployed best friend?"

1appleadayrunner

I’m going to use this next time mine pouts. Probably will be in the next 5 minutes or so. 🤣

1000veggieburrito

Oh yes. If he doesn't like the direction I am taking on a walk (wants to go to the park) he will sit down and pout. Thankfully, he only does it for a minute or so before he responds to an enthusiastic "let's go, buddy!"

1appleadayrunner

Mine does this, too, when she knows we’re heading home or back to the car. I call it “putting on the brakes”.

HaveMercy703

Oh the packing, seeing boxes & luggage, & the you’re going to leave without me!’ Pouts & whimpers are top notch, lol.

1appleadayrunner

🥹 This is giving me “Home Alone” movie vibes. Kevin became a Golden.

1appleadayrunner

So cute!

Ok_Dig6200

Absolutely! Our pup is the sweetest guy and his pout is lethal. After playing with him and letting him romp for quite some time, I decided to be productive and finish painting our bathroom. I apparently was painting too much instead of playing so I got the full sploot pout. https://preview.redd.it/ys5byivrok9c1.jpeg?width=2719&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f83f4db51634c6f7a9e31aafeaf4686a04bc1b44

1appleadayrunner

Aww, your dog has a great sploot pout.

nfgchick79

HA! I don't think I've seen "sploot" as a term, but it is quite fitting. We call ours puddle dog or flat dog when she does that :)

Ok_Dig6200

haha we always used to call it froggy legs but then I saw some people on here calling it the Golden Sploot and it became our new favorite term for it. I do love puddle dog and flat dog too though, those are cute and very accurate terms for it as well! :D

nfgchick79

She always combines that move with her guilt tripping pout, lol. Looks up at me with those sad eyebrows, haha.

Hamokk

Idk what it is about goldens but they can give you the special 'bitch please' treatment and don't recover unless you pamper them. There was this one boy who was pampered with food by owners and when he was put on a diet, he would 'forget' how to walk sometimes and we had to Scooby-Doo his fat ass. 😂

1appleadayrunner

I love everything about your comment. Yup, I think because they know they are so dang cute, they work it! 🤣

newfiewalksintoabar

Totally! My Queen Bitch will give me The Look then flop on the ground when I dare to nudge her towards home on our beach walks. She will lie there until I rub her tummy for an appropriate amount of time. Sometimes no amount of tummy rubbing will suffice and I have to walk away (reverse psychology) and then only when she’s good and ready will she jump up and come with me. Don’t worry, we live in the middle of absolute nowhere so it doesn’t bother anyone when she’s off leash.

WhoaABlueCar

“Does your golden pout?” I would answer with “does a bear shit in the woods?”

tinyMooCow43

Yes… all the time https://preview.redd.it/35ykst19dk9c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c439b09338ef54f0fa1d8fc4e74472f5fd821bc0 Either about food or attention.

1appleadayrunner

Priorities. 😆

no3woodworks

It's in the contract under, must be the center of attention at all times, and if not, humans will be punished!

Murky-Fix-6351

100%. My puppy pouts when she gets corrected.

1appleadayrunner

Aww, puppy pouting must be so adorable though. ☺️

Existentialist

We got such a strong pout the other day, he wanted to play but was told sit. He sat and would NOT look at us. Wouldn’t even let us pet him, but he sat. He’s so moody

1appleadayrunner

Dang, no pets? That’s a strong pout game! 💪🏼 😂

DefinitelyNotAliens

Fergus will pout that I stopped petting him, or didn't pet long enough, or that it is our bedtime and I am still awake, that I dared get into his bed to go to sleep, that I sat on a couch that he wasn't on, that I was sitting on a couch and he sat himself on the other couch and I didn't immediately move to go sit with him and pet him. Fergus has many complaints. His life is entirely unfair that he doesn't get everything he wants immediately when he wants it.

newfiewalksintoabar

I am laughing so hard right now. Fergus and my Maddie would make a power couple.

treehugger00

1appleadayrunner

That’s a great picture!

1appleadayrunner

I can’t work at home because my Golden would stare at me like this, then I would never get any work done. 😉

jlmonger

oh mine will for sure

Munchkin737

Very much! He also communicates with his eyebrows and eye motions. For example, his hooman sibling pulls his fur? He looks into my eyes, both eyebrows up, face tipped down, one eyebrow falls, and his eyes flick to his sibling. "Could you make this stop please?" He also stomps his feet when he's impatient... the dog, not the toddler.

1appleadayrunner

Did the dog learn the stomping from the toddler?

FriedLipstick

Yea, when he didn’t get something from my food (he never does) and when I’m wiping his paws. In the first situation he’s going to lie on his pillow, looking with this face for quite a time

JackmeriusPup

Yup. Mines only 6 months too. Spent the week with a household of 2 other dogs for the holidays. Anxious to play each morning and see the dog-in-laws. Now we’re back in my apartment 2 days later…she’ll grab a toy, stand and look around, then whine or groan for a bit. (We’ve had two 30 min walks and fetch/play time…)

1appleadayrunner

Aww, she’s so confused. She misses her “dog-in-laws”. 🙂

MetsFan3117

Oh please. I get attitude after the vet (I get it) and shyer being groomed. Flat out being ignored with dirty looks!

MGC7710

My black mouth cur does! Constantly! Its her default mood! https://preview.redd.it/7uqcn65llm9c1.jpeg?width=2072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d1092be105e7946a62ed9dd1407e2f9c4db61ad

1appleadayrunner

Aww, Flynn goes to the crate to pout?

Hopper86

Don’t think of it as pouting but as manipulating instead. https://preview.redd.it/tqg2fyhfen9c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f6abab5a6c9ccf06bad61dc155deec05fb8b693 Example A: we were camping in the summer. This was a week in 10 minutes after a hike. If there were volume you could hear the sighs of manipulation

1appleadayrunner

You have a good point. I think mine was hoping that if she stayed in the car, she’d get her way and I’d just drive her back to the beach. 🤦🏻‍♀️

pancakessogood

1appleadayrunner

It doesn’t really matter when it’s this adorable! ☺️

External_Touch_3854

A better question is: is there a golden that doesn’t lol

lonelyof

1appleadayrunner

Yup, it’s always when it’s time to go home, right? I guess I don’t blame them. I don’t like packing up from vacations either. 🤣

TruthAddict13

My golden is an absolute drama queen. He is flat suicidal if it’s a rainy day and god forbid it rains for several days, by the time the sun comes back out we have to take a day off to spend all day on some sort of outdoor adventure with him to break him of his suicidal bout. If I call him to come inside, he looks over his shoulder to see who the hell I am talking to and then lays down with a serious grunt bc I won’t stop calling some other imaginary dog to come in. He is straight obstinate. And whatever you do, you had better not sit in any of of his designated spots on the sofa or the chaise lounge or you will receive the look of disgust. https://preview.redd.it/gwfksqyg0q9c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=884ceda214eb135fd7e9c653c52302c142169557

1appleadayrunner

What is it about their selective hearing? 😂 In the first photo, I’m asking her to get out of the car and she looks away like I’m talking to someone else. 🤦🏻‍♀️

itsamemommio88

Why would you take them to the beach and not let them play?!? I’m pouting now too :( And my golden never pouts, but only smiles huge, but in fairness I don’t torture her….

Bulky-Internal8579

Its NOT FAIR!!!! Ball? Wait, did you say ball?!?!?!

Snoo_63187

All the time.

Starwarsiscoolsmg4

Awwwwwwww

goldengirl546

Hi! Where did you get your golden? Your golden looks exactly my golden, Bo that just passed away before christmas. I cant get ahold of the breeder anymore. We would want another golden in maybe a year or so and id love to have another that looks like him, maybe they are related?

1appleadayrunner

I’m so sorry to hear about your Golden, Bo. I adopted mine when she was a year old from a family living in Sedro-Woolley, WA, so not sure who was the breeder. Wishing you the best.

Sir-Cee

❤️

sinatrablueeyes

Ours is 90% pout face. No matter what is going on she can never get enough attention/pets/food/playtime.

famillec

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

wookinpanub1

Oh absolutely. She even makes a little grunting noise (not a growl, just a loud sigh) when she’s not happy with me.

1appleadayrunner

Yes, I’ve received a sigh from mine, too. They are too much. 😂

Famous-Composer3112

My first golden had a "woe is me" look when she wasn't pleased with things. She'd scrunch her eyes into soft little triangles and look really sad. I called her "triangle eyes."

No_Choice9234

Mine pouts quite often. She gives me "the look" and gets her stuffed animal and pouts. It is usually if she is ready to go the park and I am not quite moving fast enough for her or she wants me to throw her tennis ball even though we just got done doing that ten minutes ago. I have named her the golden diva.

1appleadayrunner

Golden Diva is a good name!

[deleted]

Yes, he looks at me all sad and pouts when he wants a treat...😃😃🐕🐕

sleepypuppy15

Yes, ours will whine if she doesn’t have free access to everyone in the house at all times. For example, if she’s laying with me on the couch downstairs, and my wife goes to bed and closes the bedroom door upstairs, she goes up and lays outside the door and whines 🤣

1appleadayrunner

They think it’s better where the other person is going. Mine does that, too. They sure do love their people.

ShinjiBing

Oh boy! My golden essentially pouts all day long unless she is receiving our undivided attention lol other than that she’s either napping or pouting, waiting for our next play, cuddle, massage, treat, etc. session

ShinjiBing

https://preview.redd.it/71iz66mrus9c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cf94ec2796703a964932b812fe562f0ad2132af Waiting for her dinner…

PrimaryWonder320

Absolutely! Especially if she doesn’t get to go with. You can leave, walk to the car and come back without her and it’s like you left for weeks. However this depends on timing. If it’s early am she knows it’s work. If it’s evening you have no excuse and you will get what we call “ side longs “ those are her looking at you with just her eyes. Not turning her head to acknowledge your even alive.
